  • Learn all about emergency survival essentials. In this video I will show you what my Survival Pack looks like and explain the items I keep with me at all times in my vehicle, in case I need to survive for a few nights.
Why should you create a personalized survival pack? You never know what situation or weather condition may arise that will require you to shelter in place until help arrives. Depending on where you live, you can determine what is necessary for your personal pack. Im in Arizona so my emergency survival situations would either be desert or forest/mountains.
What are some important essential items to have:
Fire starting items, signal items, first aid supplies, a way to filter water, a knife, medical supplies, a rain poncho or emergency blanket, food, rope
    Survival Tips:
Use dryer lint mixed with Vaseline for a quick fire starter...store it in an old medicine container
Use cheap disposable combs to remove cactus
Keep candy tucked in your pack for emergency energy needs
3 sounds (whistle blasts, horn. honks, gun shots) = distress
3 visual signals (fire piles, orange X's on the ground) = distress
Orange is a color that indicates distress...it doesn't occur naturally in nature (other than actual fruits, etc)...so orange flagging tape is noticed, etc
Unless you're adventuring out into the wild and could possibly get lost, you'll rarely have to survive more than one day without someone searching and rescuing you...having enough supplies for 3 days is smart. If you are traveling in a remote area, be smart and have more supplies with you...blankets, water and food, shelter items.
*Signal, Shelter, Water, Fire...these are the 4 essential survival items. You can last a few weeks without food, but not those first 4.
Be Prepared. Maybe you'll never need any of these items...but if you do, you'll be glad you have them! Have a healthy, happy, and beautiful day!
Subscribe...like...share...and be prepared! Thanks for watching!

@@botanicallivingwithkim This is totally relevant to herbalists and foragers because we spend so much time outdoors, sometimes in remote areas yet these skills often get overlooked.
