Out of nowhere, when I picked up hi-jump, the Samus info screen became glitched ( 20:14 ) After this, the info screen remained glitched for the rest of the run. Other weirdness that occurred after the info screen corrupted: * Audio crackles periodically * A few background tiles are wrong in some rooms (e.g. 23:42 ) * One room in Ridley didn't load properly at all ( 30:12 ) * Cutscenes no longer...

Stolen from Dayne_6747 but kills the pirate at the top To shoot the right pirate, you want to not be on the ground when the shot comes out and have 0 horizontal speed. When firing the shot to kill the top pirate, fire it into the namihe to reduce lag. Could definitely be cleaner but decent enough showcase. Mind the exit :D

weird that the devs accounted for a varia-free motherbrain clear, but never expected anyone to get wave beam before ice.
It fucks me up that Varia is just optional, the acid bath e-tank gets my hopes up every time
This is what happens when you kill Metroids don’t be like Samus who literally kills Metroid’s for a living and but does not know about the X
Personally, im not a fan of calling it 100% collection when varia suit never gets picked up.

at 29:29, the wall in front of the higher morph ball launcher is made of screw attack blocks, could use those to save a few seconds in future runs :D

Very nice! Really enjoyed the routing on this one, especially in Chozodia, but it was all pretty satisfying. The end of the Mecha Ridley fight was funny too. "Stay down" vibe. Impressed at seeing new stuff in Zero Mission after all this time!

This is probably the first TAS of Zero Misiion I’ve seen that goes for the Long Beam immediately instead of taking the shortcut to the rest of the map AND collects the Charge Beam instead of skipping it
Yeah, it was made to be a showcase of the fastest known human route, late long and late charge would most likely be faster for an optimized TAS
i always wished they would have redone the original metroid games with updated graphics, a-la Super Mario All-Stars.

I've been playing this game since 2004, have 100% multiple times, and this guy still took routes I've never seen before

This was really cool! Love the unique route for all the upgrades. Quick question at 20:20 - Aren't there screw attack blocks next to the first launcher? I think breaking them would've saved some time instead of going to the lower launcher.

26:49 This is what I don’t like about Zero Mission. Yes, sometimes secret paths are easy to spot, but other times, it’s stuff like this that makes me feel dumb. A video game should not make you feel that way. Fusion on the other hand is much better at secret things. You can clearly tell that something is off, if a room is oddly empty, try using a Power Bomb, and there! You’ve opened up a whole secret passage.
Yeah they could have hinted that better. PBs would reveal the secret there but you've got no reason to think one is there Fusion's underwater section is infamous for the proper path forward not being revealed with PBs

There's only 1 in that room. To the left there is Varia Suit, which is not needed because we get it automatically at the end of the suitless section

Maybe Samus will get a better gun that not just stuns enemies, but also inflicts damage to them. If not, she’ll upgrade her paralyzer so it can inflict damage to enemies as well.

Yes just about everything in this is possible without TAS. The TAS is more for absolute optimization.
