I thing X-5 just didn't do anything about sylvie because she was living on a branched timeline which they were going to prune anyways. So why deal with her when if the plan works you just take her out anyways. It would also explain why X-5 made sure his new life was on the sacred timeline and not a branch.
I really loved Loki's expressions while he was being mischievous! Of course, it helps that Tom Hiddleston is a very handsome man to begin with, but goodness, when he sets his jaw and bores his eyes into your soul! Mesmerizing. Also, the interaction between Casey and OB was adorable!
Yeah that was basically a lot of season 1 and it was so good. The finale was mostly talking and wow. This one is another 10/10. (s1e4, s1e6, and s2e2 are 10/10 episodes for me)
I think that the reason why they didn't just bomb the timeline in the past was because usually a nexus event/timeline violation needed to take place to justify pruning a timeline. What Dox did was just full on murder without justification. Or at least that is what I think.
Just a reminder that at 15:42, Ouroboros says he wrote the code and that He Who Remains designed it. This makes me view their roles as engineer and modifier/mechanic (best way I can describe it but I'm open to more accurate terms), explaining why O.B. gets to keep his memory. Despite a certain amount of system automation provided by AI (Miss Minutes), the human resource cannot be completely replaced because mechanisms break eventually and someone at the TVA needs to know how to repair them.
I think a more apt analogy is HWR is the architect with the plan, the grand design, the one who understands and dictates the overall form. Whereas OB is the engineer who has unrivaled knowledge of the inner workings, knows what every little piece and part does, is the guy who ensured from the start that the TVA functioned as intended.

I love that we're seeing more of Loki's magic side- how many years has he been at the TVA? Seems like a lot, based on his "Remember that time..." reference? Seemed a long time had passed.
Sylvie is returning to disaster zones she lived in, to see them in their pristine states. Now that she can't be tracked because of all of the branches, she doesn't have to hide in disaster areas. She never WANTED to live there. She hated it. Seeing innocent people doomed to die, again and again? She didn't grow up the way Loki did. She was taken as a child, on the run for her life. She didn't resent people...just the TVA. And she blames the TVA for really ALL of the bad things that happen in the world(s). She knows these places, she kinda knows these people. She wants to see them all live their lives. She wants to live a life of her own. She doesn't even want to go back to Asgard simply because it doesn't really mean anything to her anymore. While Broxton is likely an easter-egg for one of the comics that relocated Asgard to that region, it's probably also a reference to a period in April of 1982 where dozens of very powerful tornadoes utterly annihilated large areas of Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma. Broxton is actually considerably westward of that disaster area, but could've still gotten some serious damage.
I really liked this episode. Something about one of the returning characters has seemed off to me these past two episodes, but one specific moment in this made me realize that may have been on purpose this whole time.
This was another great episode and this season sets up pretty much everything going forward so it's gonna get worse a lot worse OB must've read the Secret Wars comic when he said we're all gonna die lol

Brad is such a snake in the grass. That modified temp pad told him which timelines were about to be pruned. He’s been jumping around to timelines, living the high-life, then abandoning it before it gets pruned.
@@StarkRG I looked back and I missed underneath the “1977 London” it mentioned ‘sacred timeline.’ That would go against my original theory about “Brad” jumping timelines as it wasn’t a ‘branched timeline.’
also one timeline is basically a whole universe/dimension. when they prune timeline, they erase not just 7 billions humans but also another septillions of alien in that universe, then multiplied it by the amount of pruned branches, it's beyond inumerable. in Quantumania, Janet saw more violent way of Kang doing it, but TVA is improved version. TVA has killed far more amount of people compared to any villains we haved seen.
The reason Loki didn't yank the Time-Twister out of Brad's hand the first time, is because magic takes a certain amount of time and thought. It's not an impulse thing, like how your body on a certain level knows instinctively how to throw something accurately (though it's not perfect, and still requires practice to get really good). With magic, you have to really understand what you want to do, and what is necessary to make it happen. That's why even Loki's mother couldn't quite magic her way out of her fight with that big damn super Dark Elf. Catch someone off-guard, and magic is kinda useless. It needs clarity and preparation. The second time, Loki knew what was on the table, and was ready to deal with it. The illusions and other tricks were things he prepped while pursuing more slowly and deliberately. He had an idea of where Brad would end up, because of how the Time-Twister works. So he strolled on over, considered his options, and prepared measures. When Loki just blasts things...it takes a lot less thought and prep...because he's just chucking raw power at a target. Same with when he and Sylvie teamed-up to wipe the entire squad of Dox's troops, with a single blast at the end. "Don't overthink it" kind of had a double-meaning there. She didn't want him thinking she was opening up again, and she also just wanted to combine their magic to blast everything.
I am really loving this Season so far. Season 1 felt very driven by us wondering when Loki would flip "villain" again, now we have a driving force behind everything and fairly clear motives with the main cast. I just hope they don't go too slowly on the main plot. Also, I felt like it was very clear to the audience that Dox was going to bomb to timelines, but maybe in world it was meant to be vague to them. We saw them all walking out with the bomb cooler/square case things in episode 1.

But again, the reason Mobius has gotten lost both episodes is because his memories were wiped before, like everyone else. The fact that he guess 3-4... its like the memories might be coming back now, that would be my guess. Now that Mrs.Minuets isnt there to distract him - or He who remains to prevent them, they could maybe remember thier pasts at some point. idk,
show is based on time being f'd up and everyones like "THERES MISSING TIME" like bro.... they have a HUGE selection here when it comes to times and places... they cant film everything
Also, you don't have to tell _everything_ that happens. There's enough information right off the bat for you to know what's happened in the mean time. At the end of the last episode Loki said "We need to find Sylvie", and Loki seems focused on that. Mobius, on the other hand, is more concerned by X-5's temp pad showing up and then going dark and is using Loki's obsession over finding Silvie to help him find Dox and X-5. We're told all this in the first 31 seconds of the episode (I just checked). Yes, there's been a slight and indeterminate time jump, but if what happened then was at all important, they'll tell us. They haven't, so, until told otherwise, I think it's safe to assume it wasn't.
Leaving just enough timelines to comprehend.... might not get our fill of multiverse anymore, at least till the Kang movies... as we have like 5 or 6 timelines left - 1 has Deadpool and xmen, another might have the older xmen movies, and probably the other spidermen, hopefully some secret, underground spider verse is intact somewhere
I do feel like OB is something else, could be another form of kang, or something - or just another variant like the other TVA ppl, given that role because yes, Kang needed someone to know everything - but I like the idea of him being his own thing - that he knows more than he lets on, and maybe is like EON, or TIME or one of those massive, sentient form things from the comics (like Love from love and thunder) - which would be interesting, because Love in L+T showed us that those being can take forms as well, and otherwise look like a human, or probably any other species - I would also HOW ELSE is it that Kang is able to just - control all of time and space - without any repercussions from these higher powers in the mcu - makes sense that thre would be some intervention, or rules to be had

Now that 33% of the branches were pruned in this Dox Blitzkrieg that was stopped by the combined might of Sylvie and Loki, the Temporal Loom isn't as close to Doomsday as before. O.B. is locked out of the system he created and can't gain access without Miss Minutes' assistance... lot of threads...Its Great because I have NO IDEA what is going to happen next! Great Show!!🤩🤔🥳🧐🤣
I think you're only one that caught that X-5 wanted to return to Sacred Timeline and not just any part of the branched timeline. (Haven't watched many other reactions yet though). So what will Sylvie do with Kang's temp-pad? This episode mirrors s1e2. Debate/argument between Mobius and Loki, then they work together. That one ended with Sylvie bombing the timeline to creat several branches as a distraction, this one ended with multiple branches being pruned. (Also explains how the situation at TVA was sorted by S1 ep3-ep4. They really are great at pruning those branches). I don't think every branch created got pruned in this, and the branching that started happening hasn't really stopped so it's kinda not that big of a deal. Specially when pruning will help with the Loom issue too. What a turn around this has been for B-15 though. I think this episode had pacing issue (hence the reviews being mixed). Could have spent a little bit more time with what Dox was doing and also on the result by showing people being pruned, instead of leaving us with just the graphic of timeline being erased. Excited for more!
I'm pretty sure the temporal aura that's needed to unlock the doors is _not_ He Who Remains. It was Hunter B-15 who claimed the person who built it was He Who Remains, but on what basis? It easily might be Renslayer, or an OB variant, or someone completely different. What if HWR didn't found the TVA, but merely _found_ it already in existence and took it over? It's interesting that OB didn't know about that requirement, or maybe that he thought his aura would work. He said it was the aura of the person who built it which suggests to me that he might have thought he had built it. Does he have someone else's memories regarding the construction and functioning of the TVA? What is the Temporal loom actually doing? Is it even necessary? Not fixing it seems to destroy the TVA, but is that actually a problem? What if the voice we hear talking to Renslayer in the recording was a different Kang and _not_ HWR? Why was that recording queued up? Who was listening to it right about the same time some major branching occurred some time in the TVA's past? There are a lot of assumptions the show is trying to get us to make and I refuse to, there's not enough information to consider those assumptions valid. Also, how was X-5 able to insert himself into the sacred timeline without causing it to branch? Did he kill the existing Brad Wolfe and take his place?
In my opinion Sylvie is right now the villain. She is responsible for human extinction and is running away to live a free selfish and comfortable life... Greetings from Germany❤
Human extinction wasnt caused by her but by dox with bombing the timeline. She killed Kang yes, but that didn’t lead to any destruction…yet. Still more to see but from what we’ve seen she hasn’t caused any deaths.

Really good follow-up episode IMO. Most of it was people talking, yet the script and acting was polished enough to make it engaging throughout.

If that was the case, then why would he have been on the sacred timeline?
I doubt that was the reason his tempad is modified. It was primarily done to track Sylvie's Temporal aura. That is my theory.
