Thanks Huell for this Krispy Kreme walk through. I'm a donut lover too. These happen to be my daughter's favorite. May your shows continue airing bringing the beauty of California to others. R.I.P. Mr. Howser. ❤

Great Episode of California Gold, Krispy Kreme donuts when warm are so good. We also have a donut shop called Stan's Donuts in Santa Clara, California which opened in the 1950's, they have the best Bavarian Creme I have ever had with very reasonable prices, two donuts and you are full.

This location would close only a few years later. Now a Chick Fil A

The same here in Fresno Ca. They reopened tears later down the street. Chik A Flick is always with a ridiculous long line around the parking lot and even behind the buildings at the other end of the strip mall. I don't have the patience.

They are reopening a new one in La Habra, nearby this original location.

I moved just a couple of minutes away from this location. Sadly, it’s a Chick-Fil-A now. I wonder why they closed this location.

There are a couple of Krispy Kreme locations in Guatemala City, if you can believe that.

They must have changed they’re recipe a few years ago because that is when my kids and I noticed they had a horrible chemical taste to them! A couple of vendors brought some to our office last week during the holidays, so I bit into one.....and nope spit it out! We threw out 4 full boxes! It is a shame because they were so good!

I think its the oil that they are cooked in. When the lowered the trans fat, it lowered the flavor hehe no really.

I never thought that Krispy Kream donuts were that great. I preferred Ca version of Winchels and Donut Sar. There’s 1 in Fresno, not Clovis.

Now it is a Chic-Fil-A. From a wiki, the company overexpanded, which I think everyone saw. Accounting issues. Not a whole lot left in So. Cal.

I saw where there are 60 locations across the state today. They sort of bombed in LA proper, and have done well in the surrounding burbs, Orange County and the rural areas. The number of stores, for a state like California, is fairly small.
And, Elvis wasn't into the Krispy Creams, I think that's a myth that the company spread around. Elvis actually wasn't a big donut guy. According to his Mafia buddies Elvis tried to avoid cakes and donuts. The KK were big in TN when Elvis was there, and the Graceland proper ordered thousands of them over the years, not many ended up in Elvis.

@@gregoryadkins2213 I liked them. Not something I would eat often, just too sweet. I've been to some good and some bad small shops. Just because its mom and pop deosn't make them good.
