The Naturehike Cloud-Up series is incredibly hard to beat if you're looking for a well-designed and reasonably priced bikepacking or backpacking tent. We think that this is the best budget option for the price-conscious bikepacker or bike tourer. Have you ever considered this tent?
Sierra Designs actually designed this tent in the late 80’s. It was originally called the Flashlight, and later the Clip Flashlight. I had both. I also used a Fly Creek on the Appalachian Trail in 2018. Now I am looking at getting the Cloud Up to save a few pennies. Quite a few, actually. Cheers from America.
Hi, thanks for the video :) I have 2 questions, please, in relation to the Cloud 1 person tent: 1. Does the rainfly touch the (inner)tent, or is there space between them? 2. Are the stake out points adjustable or non-adjustable? Thanks
Hi! The inner and the outer have plenty of space between them when the tent is pitched and all the stake out points and guylines have in-line adjusters on them. Cheers
The original designer, Big Agnes support - I purchased a Big Agnes tent for which a bike packing version became available I asked if I could purchase a pole set for the rent - Their response, buy a whole new tent, poles not available separately. Not much in the way of customer support in my view.
Damn, that's a real shame! Could be that their customer service isn't what it used to be - but I'm sure it's still better than many of the cheaper companies!
Thanks for mentioning the copying! Their presence on certain chinese online stores was suspicious, but this confirmation made me stay clear of them. Now bought a Salewa instead.
I've been using the Cloud Up 2 polyester version for a couple of years and am quite happy with it. Most importantly, it has kept me bone dry. It is also big enough that I can also keep my rear panniers in the tent with me, which I like. Only things I don't like are that my version doesn't have any pockets to store stuff, and I think I would prefer a side entrance instead of at the head of the tent. But, as you said, for the price, I can't complain too much.
You got the 1p in green, but the 3p in white.. how did the white one do (compared with the green one.. ) Does it really make a difference outside esthetics / stealth camping...
The naturehike clup 1 I bought doesn't say outdoor on the print, it just says naturehike. And on the bag, it says only naturehike. Is this how the new productions are now? Is there a fake one?
@@VeloObscura I asked Naturehike, they did not answer the questions. I bought the product from Amazon naturehike Eu. It looks original and high quality, but I found it interesting that there is no audoor sign. Every naturehike tent has audoor written on it.
Great value for money! I appreciate you mentioning that Big Agnes part. But people will think more with their wallet… then suddenly it doesn’t seem to matter so much about the original designer and being a proud American. We buy local! No way with these prices😄
I seriously looked at some brand options for a 1-person lightweightish tent... and there two reasons I wasn't happy. Number one: They are often VERY tight spaces. Meaning like 80cm width, no room to sit up. That's just not for me. And then the elephant in the room: prices. I am not - and probably will never be - a hardcore user. I don't go out in harsh conditions, I don't spend months on the road, I will mostly take my bike on tours and camp on campgrounds. For this, I am not willing to spend 500 € and up. I don't need anything "ultra", just not very heavy.
Ehhh.... I guess that depends... Their pricing is in line with the other brands making similar products - MSR, Sea to Summit, Slingfin etc.... And it's a lot cheaper to make a knock-off of a tent when you don't have to pay for all the R&D or western salaries for designers etc...
You don't persuade people to change their ways by insulting them. That rarely works and even less so when you can't spell the word that you're labelling them with. I'll call it whatever I want. Thanks

I'd recommend it.
I don't think the build or design is quite as good as BA or SD, but for the price I really, really like it.

@@VeloObscura Thank you :)
you're right with the copying stuff but the difference in price is huge, I wish Big Agnes had a more affordable version of the tent.
Yeah, it's an attractive proposition for sure.
I did feel it was right to mention it, though!
I have the CloupUp 1 and can’t rate it enough. I am 6’5 and its was the only tent with the length.
Great feedback!
Thanks for commenting. 😁
I’ve been using a Flytop tent for 4 years and it’s still like new. For around $100 it’s a way better buy!

Awesome, thanks for sharing!
Yeah, I'd much prefer a side-entry tent too, but I can't complain!

Yes. I got the 3p because it's all that was available, but I would get dark and muted colours every time over something that stands out like that.

I have no idea. You'd be better off asking Naturehike.

Absolutely right! And I am in no position to judge, but I thought it should at least be acknowledged.
Thanks for the comment!

Thanks! Will do! 🫡
Are you american, australian, or british?
LOL Big Agnes is so far over priced.

Could you use the term One person tent rather than One Man tent please? you sound like a Dinasaur. Thanks
