You can remotely start the car through the key fob by pressing the lock button twice and then holding it the third time until the turn signals start flashing and that car will than start. We have a 2018 RX 450h and it works fine with that sequence.
Ours is almost at 100k. No issues. I regret not buying the hybrid though. He is correct, its not a sports crossover, but a superb family car. If anyone is in market, i would follow his advice and wait for a big refresh or the new generation. Have talked to an owner of the 3 row, while they enjoy the rear space increase, his comments was the 3rd row was even tight for his 8 year old.

A lot of people think the RX is a boring car and a boring driving car but just like Sofyan says it makes you feel pampered and protected from the harshness of the outside world. Well said! I REALLY like the gauge cluster at 6:25. I disagree that the gauge cluster looks dated.. This is a really nice gauge cluster- its simple, traditional, easy to read. I think too many are going to a full LCD displays that look so gimmicky and fake (like a video game) and most LCD's are not very easy to read.. I don't want some LCD animated light show.. When I am driving a car I just want something that's easy to read and gives my the info I need to know at a glance... I need quick info so I can keep my eyes on the road and this RX 350L gauge cluster looks great, and I wish others auto/SUV manufacturers would use a more traditional gauge cluster like this.
Why does it seem like Lexus simply stretched the vehicle, and threw a third row back there, without any other improvements? Sort of like “You wanted a third row RX? HERE!” That price doesnt do it any favors tbh.
To me this is the best Lexus vehicle they have for the money. And I drive the IS 2016 350 F Sport. Lexus IS always behind in technology and features. But what they include is all the features they have and they don’t skimp out like Germans.
I don’t understand how you appreciate no exhaust tips on this because it’s not a sport trim , but when the MDX didn’t have it it was a huge problem... and it didn’t have a sport trim at the time.
I like the seating layout. It's similar to a mini-van (2 front, 2 middle, "3" rear). I think the Buick Enclave does it better, however. More space, and the third row bench is designed for 3 passengers.
It's a way to prevent losing sales to competitors for a few years. But honestly it's better to have the option than not. My parents just bought it and they just use it for a huge trunk. It's almost the same price as a regular two row so why not
The Volvo XC90, Acura MDX and Infiniti QX60 offer much more space than this . Plus Lexus should’ve tested it out more like put an actual adult in the third row and record the measurements to add to the vehicle
Hey Sofyan! Here's the Lexus key remote start secret sequence: Lock, Lock, Lock (Hold). So press Lock 3 times, but hold it for 5 - 10 seconds on the third time. This will work so long as the remote start app has been activated and has been a thing since ~2015 for all Lexus models. I've heard sometimes the press vehicles work too
Finally. I don't know how long it's been since I have seen brown accents on the interior of a car. I get it. Plastic is just a result of mass production, but as this vehicle shows it doesn't always have to be black.
I agree. I got used to it very quickly in my 2016 GS350 F-Sport & it's very easy to use overall. I honestly like it a lot better than the newer track pad.

You were very kind about your analysis of the third row. Why even invest the R&D if thats the best they could have done. Hope they get it right with the next generation (or drop the third row and have people upgrade to the GX)
This car (RX-L) is a huge disappointment and I was really looking forward to a 3-row Lexus. I was hoping Lexus would have made a proper 3-Row CUV like a whole new vehicle or stretching the wheelbase on the RX and instead they did a cheap afterthought fix to throw it out into market ASAP. They stretched the rear (not even the wheelbase) and threw AC controls in the unusable 3rd row instead of the 2nd-row where it gets used more. The end result is a 3rd-row seat that barely even fits kids. You can't get a panoramic sunroof on the L because well, cheap afterthought fix so they needed to leave it out to maximize headroom. The only thing I prefer on this RX-L is that the captains chairs are a standalone option which is how it should be. Other vehicles shove the captains chairs down your throat when you go for the loaded trim. But in terms of getting a useful 3-row for kids, I have to stick with the Acura MDX. This is not what I asked for from Lexus.
Or just get a Toyota Sienna. If you regularly carry more than 5 people just get a minivan and be done with it. That way everyone will be comfortable instead of everyone having to compromise on leg room to make room.
@@TheCobruhAlienat0r I hate to break it to you man. But some people (actually most people) wouldn't be caught dead driving a minivan. Also, I have owned minivans before. An 88 Dodge Caravan and a 94 Plymouth Voyager. Yes they are roomy and comfortable. But newer minivans lately are way too big and guzzle just as much gas as CUVs. Where I live, a NYC suburb in NJ, parking is tight. A minivan is just not practical. I don't use it too often but use it enough times in a year that I need one. For me, I think the most practical thing would be a larger 3-row CUV with a useful 3rd-row. That leaves my options with a Chevy Traverse, Buick Enclave, Honda Pilot, and Subaru Ascent. Leaning towards the Pilot Elite. There is also the Lexus GX but it is a gas guzzling V8.

With the decrease in power (even tho it's only 5hp), added weight, slightly worse fuel economy, weirdly stretched side profile, AND a higher price tag, I don't think 2 cubic ft of cargo is worth it. The regular one is perfect. If you want third row or extra cargo capacity, there are better options.
I think the Kia Sorrento is a better value. More third row room, and way cheaper than RX L or even MDX. The value of the luxury brand may be a consideration to some, but if you can overlook the luxury logo, the Kia Sorrento is a better value

That extended rear is quite disproportionate indeed and what makes it worse is that the third row isn't even usable. Quite a design flaw for Lexus. Love the interior colours and styling though.
Did anyone notice that lexus RX L vin numbers start with J which means they are made in Japan. That and the extra cargo space has me sold for that extra money.

It's already useless given the fact the even if you do have kids, you're most likely gonna put them in the 2nd row anyways and not the 3rd row, that is unless you have 3+ kids, and it's still not smart to the L models of the RX since it's still cramped, probably even still cramped for a 7 year old lol
@@frooz442 Most of the times yes. But where I fail to see the logic in this barely useable third row is that children are required to sit in a booster seat until the age of 8. If that third row is cramped for 7 year olds, how is that seat even useful? And you are right, I would put the kids in the 2nd row most of the time since its 4 of us but my in-laws stay with us 3-months out of a year. Those times the 3rd-row is put upright and used. This is where I do like the RX-L where Lexus doesn't shove captains chairs down my throat. Most times I keep the 3rd row flat and use it as a 5-passenger. But when extra adults ride, the 3rd-row comes up and I seat the kids back there.
The Acura feels very Honda while the RX feels different in and out though sharing a lot of parts with some Toyota models. And it's a Lexus. Acura, not many do know what it is.
The Nissan Rogue tried this for 2014-15 and it was the same tacked-on nonsense---just for show. They finally stopped offering that option. I'm sure this will not last for the RX either.
caden brigstocke same here. I even got used to it on the loaners. It’s not the most intuitive thing but it gets the job done. I think journalists jump to conclusions and don’t think about how actual owners will get used to it.
A $50k plus vehicle and it doesn't have a dedicated remote starter button on the key fob. It was a nice review as usual but this vehicle left a lot to be desire for that price tag. The 3rd row seats was just added just to be add it. By the looks of it is not that useful. At least you get a bigger cargo area once you put the 3rd row down. If the front passenger moves the seat forward it will give the 2nd row more leg room if there's a 3rd row passenger. The 3rd row passenger on the driver side is not so lucky since the driver can only move so much forward to drive comfortably. About the lack of a dedicated remote starter button on the key fob is my biggest complaint on my 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE Hybrid. Followed by the short range that the key fob has to lock, unlock and remote start the Highlander, hopefully on this more expensive vehicle the range is better. I find that to be doubtful since it's from the same parent company.

RX350's turn signals were lighting up in motion same like Audi and BMW... why it doesn't have that?,
@Huy Thai .. Ohho O.K... here in Saudi Arabia I saw RX350 & NOW EVEN 2018 LX570 HAVE THE SAME LED TURN SIGNALS.
Because Japanese cars are cheap

idk what people have against the remote touch interface. we have an rx and have no problem with it.
caden brigstocke same here. I even got used to it on the loaners. It’s not the most intuitive thing but it gets the job done. I think journalists jump to conclusions and don’t think about how actual owners will get used to it.

A $50k plus vehicle and it doesn't have a dedicated remote starter button on the key fob. It was a nice review as usual but this vehicle left a lot to be desire for that price tag. The 3rd row seats was just added just to be add it. By the looks of it is not that useful. At least you get a bigger cargo area once you put the 3rd row down. If the front passenger moves the seat forward it will give the 2nd row more leg room if there's a 3rd row passenger. The 3rd row passenger on the driver side is not so lucky since the driver can only move so much forward to drive comfortably. About the lack of a dedicated remote starter button on the key fob is my biggest complaint on my 2018 Toyota Highlander XLE Hybrid. Followed by the short range that the key fob has to lock, unlock and remote start the Highlander, hopefully on this more expensive vehicle the range is better. I find that to be doubtful since it's from the same parent company.
