Bach to the Future ;-) Metal owes a debt to classical arrangements and opera. As a youth I loved metal. I was not a fan of classical. As an older person I appreciate classic because of the metal I listened to when I had vim and vinegar. How my perspective has changed! Arrangement for screaming vocals and electric instruments with simplified percussion and amplified bass in D minor! Or operatic vocals with classical arrangement and superb intrumentalism. Maybe even simply Bach to Black (Sabbath) My comment pokes fun at both genres, but it should not be taken that either is worthy of satire. I have an irreverent attitude, but appreciate how classical music made the metal I enjoy listening to the genre that it became.

It's been my favorite since I heard it at an organ recital, and as the first notes sounded, they pulled back the curtains on floor-to-ceiling windows showing the hills and forests behind the recital hall, as the sun started to set.
