    Just bought Pixinsight and found your video, which is great! However, the resource you use and discuss is no longer available. Suggestions?

      Glad this helped. Unfortunately the EZ scripts are no longer available. The person who wrote the scripts and made them available for free is no longer maintaining the code, and thus they've been removed.
      In place of the ez-stretch, you can still stretch it the old fashioned way with the histogram tool. There is also a new stretching tool called Generalized Hyperbolic Stretch. For star reduction, we can use star removal tools. Either StarXterminator (not free) or Starnet++ (free). If you remove the stars while still linear, then you can stretch them separately and just not stretch them as much as your starless image.

      Oh, and should add that @anotherastrochannel2173 has a bunch of scripts available that include a star reduction script.. so that's another option. So while EZ is gone, there are actually more options available today than there were a year ago :)

    Nice little tutorial. I'm new to astro, but fluent in Photoshop. Coming to PI is like learning to ride a bicycle again, but instead, the bicycles backwards, and you ride on the handlebars. Thanks for the plug in tips!

    Hi I am trying to find my way through the terminology and all the different pieces of software available for processing my astrophotos,. i have just downloaded my trial version of PixInsight this week and have just watched your tutorial.....
    !!!BRILLIANT !!!
    You have not only shown a beginners method, you have explained what it is doing and kept everything simple. Thank you I now have the confidence to stat tackling some of my images to reprocess. I have been using Gimp (blindly) and have had some reasonable results more by luck than intention, this now gives me a methodolgy which i believe I can adapt to both PixInsight and may be Gimp also......THANKYOU !!!!!

    Like JWCarr, PixInsight no longer accepting the EZ resource you recommended. It looks very good. Is there a workaround to getting this resource. I enjoy your teaching, James, and please throw another lesson our way. You really are a good PixInsight guide.

    • @DSOImager
      @DSOImager  3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thank you Roger! Yea.. sadly the EZ scripts are long gone.
      I have not found a good one click alternative to the Auto Stretch function. I currently use the GeneralixedHyperbolicStretch tool. It's a little tricky to use.. but once you get the hang of it, its much better.
      I should do a refreshed beginner processing video.
      Thanks again :)

    Nice Work Flow Man. I Recently Started Using Software SirL Which is An Astrophotography Processing Software if You might Know :). It does have some Features That I have Learnt, 'Color Calibration', Deconvolution, Dynamic Background Extraction! They have Improved My images To a Next Level From The Software I started Using 'Gimp'!
