    Meet Joe Black. 😅 Couldn’t resist. Nice video. I have a Mirage hatch which I love. I don’t know why people make fun of it. It’s a regular car, not made to be a sports car & it’s super cute & very economical & fun to drive.

      I guess you live in the US when you said Mirage instead of Space Star.
      These are by far the best small cars when it comes to the packaging of economical MPG, new pricing, reliablity and economical thinking in general. If you do live in the US thank you for not buying a "showoff"Truck Subcompact cars are so nessesary for the overall EPA.

    had the four door sedan as a company car, never missed a beat (even above 200k km)
    the car is pretty chuckable in turns, which was an experience with the amount of body roll.. and it had the best turning radius ever on full lock...
    and the acceleration also means that you could put your pedal to the metal without risking losing your license.
    and with good fuel economy (on an economy run) - the CVT actually is better for those kind of cars, because it changes the "gears" constantly which is optimal for fuel economy and performance.. even though "rubber band" with this gearbox is really a thing in this car...
    and in my country it was very well equipped - with cruise control, automatic headlamps, automatic windshield wipers ,automatic climate control, infotainment screen, keyless entry and start - what else do you need at this price point?

    I own the 2024 Mitsubishi Mirage ES with the CVT. It might as well be the 2023. Either way, it's amazing for me! (: I get 55-60 MPG on the highway, and combined get almost 48 MPG. (US MPG). I don't drive nearly as hard as you do. I accelerate less than 2,000 RPM around town, and getting on the freeway is usually 2,500-3,000 RPM. For me it has plenty of power, I do mostly freeway driving.
    I find it comfortable as well. Plus it's pretty quiet. I don't use a lot of throttle, so it doesn't make a bunch of noise. But when I do put my foot down, it's fun hearing it scream!

      Exactly how this car should be driven. I do this as well. I own the 2015 model (80 hp version). 85000 miles with zero defects, just normal maintenance. Avg fuel consumption is 53 mpg 0ver its whole lifespan (almost 10 years).

      if You do not floor it then it doesn't. 50% of accelerator pedal travel would keep the rpm around 3000. If you apply less then it is possible to accelerate to 100 kph without exceeding 2500 rpm. It is quiet when driven gently ;)

    • @lockdot2
      @lockdot2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I 100% agree. I have a 2024, and around town I stay under 2,000 RPM. Mostly around 1,500. And getting on the freeway I go about 2,500 RPM. If you floor it, it's loud, but also fun. But I don't do that barely, as I like getting the best MPG. Been averaging 48 MPG over the last 6,200 miles. That's combined. But I do mostly freeway driving, and it's been getting in the high 50 MPG's on the freeway, often going to the low 60's. @@fomalhaut86

If You drive it economically (around 70 to 90 kph) You will get around 4 l/100 km. All results with aircon ON. I bought one new 2 years ago and done aprox. 40 000 km in it ;)

    I have no idea why in America it's called Mirage but in Europe they decided to name it Space Star, just like the minivan produced between 1998 and 2005. Colt would be much better name. In reality this Mirage/Space Star is far from being spacious, even for a B-class city car. I had a chance to take a closer look at it in the dealership and it feels okay to sit behind the wheel, however back seat is pretty bad, maybe only kids will sit there comfortably. Sadly I couldn't take it for a ride, but it looks like 5-speed manual would be better choice than this noisy CVT, even in heavy traffic.

      It's a small economy car, cheapest you can get these days, at least here in Czechia you can get base model for under 300 000 CZK. I think for what it is, it's pretty good. You can even get a touch screen radio, unlike VW Up (absolutely screw touchscreens but I get it's all the rage in the current day and age), while the Up is 50 000 CZK more expensive. The Space Star could use a little more power, at least 60-70 kW, or it could be a little more fuel efficient - 6 L/100 is a bit much. But it's a cheap car, that's pretty rare today.

  • @ronaldderooij1774
    @ronaldderooij1774 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

    You clearly don't know how to drive a CVT, haha. Keep it below 2000 rpm, and below 2500 rpm at acceleration. Let the CVT search for torque. Don't mess with the gas pedal, you waste your torque by having to release it again. Feed it constant fuel, just as much as you need to accelerate with the traffic below 2000-2500 rpm. I do 4.2 liters per 100 km on average over 130.000 km.
