This car is AMAZING!
It's really popular in the Philippines and some of the people says it's underpowered and by just looking at this video, it's not that bad! I mean, it's a 1.2L, 3 cylinder, and only has 70 horsepower.
I own a Mirage G4 ( Attrage ) and both have the same engine as the Hatchback.
Overall, it has excellent fuel economy up to 26km per liter and can reach even up to 190km/h. "NOT BAD!!!"

This is a good car for the price. The key to driving any small engined car is using the gears properly. This driver knows, but too many dont know how to get the best from a small engine. My Impreza is non turbo but keep the revs above 3k and it flies.
I drive the 2017 version of the car in the video and I usually shift at a low gear - I’m in no hurry and it still accelerates quickly. But letting the engine rev up a bit and driving in a lower gear for a longer time (obviously not in the red zone, I’d like the car to last) usually gets a surprise when I’m overtaking someone. Most people underestimate the car. It’s a good starter car in my opinion !

Agreed, but since most new economy cars do not have a coolant temperature gauge, you can't tell if the engine will start to run hot if you sustain that high speed. Your only warning will be a high temp light on the dash, if it even has that (not all cars do).
@@damieg82 Just run a temp gauge, it is not that hard to do. Mirage has high temp light so by the time it is hot you will know it!

Some of the longest lasting and reliable cars ever made had under 100 hp. I’m sad to hear that after 2024, they will be unavailable in the US.
As always we take things for granted this is what happens ..
People say the Mirage/Attrage/Space star are slow because of its 1.2 3 cylinder but in this video the manual version is quite fun to see it going fast but the cvt is probably the slower one i wish Mitsubishi will release the next gen of this and pair it with a new 1.0 turbo

Maybe us version has governed limiter? Or did you try the top speed with your space star? 😁 I know lots us version has governed speed limiter. Like jeep wrangler us version 100 mph, in Canada or germany 112 mph. Or Dodge charger RT in US around 128 mph, in Canada version 145 mph.
My honda fit (jazz) goes over 100 I had to let out becuase I was in a 45 zone hehe. In 4th gear by the way
Well my u.s. Version of the same car has 84 hp 2021 mirage G4 but it seems like it's limited to 100mph I tried getting it past once and thought I was gonna blow the motor up laying on the throttle too long. This is interesting too see someone just lay on the throttle in this little car for a long time and doesn't have issues. I like that

@@jeffmorse645 yes actually it was it was a huge piece of shit sometimes would act like it didn't know what gear to be in so constantly fell on its face traded it in for a new outlander about a month and half ago much happier with the outlander faster more space and looks a lot sleeker too
I have test driven it , mostly liked it , it feels like a more powerful car , engine isnt weak at all, even with cvt , but engine noise was kinda annoying
Its a very light car so even with 70+ hp, its enough to make it feel like its more powerful than it really is.

Seems much more relaxed and eager than the Mirage with the CVT... which is almost all you can find in the US. Very few manuals for sale. I wouldn't be afraid to drive that on the highway here.
Little guy does pretty good. I have no issues pushing my 14 Lancer ES to 100+ here in west Texas.

@@stevensmith8648 Tried my mirage up to 95 mph for a few minutes max and that was it for me! I usually drive like 55-65mph . Safer and more fuel efficient that way!
Like proving grounds, this is just a test drive for us to see the capabilities of the car. Although tiny it's stable and has good aerodynamics. I have 2014 version and I love it. Sometimes travelled 552km in it between 80-120km/h and it's a brilliant ride.

At the 3:43 minute time mark, it looked like you were touching 178 km/h (110 mph) at about 5500 RPM on the tach. (Must have been 4th gear.) pretty darn good for a very small 70hp 1.2L 3 cylinder engine! We’re you top speed limited by available horsepower or was the car governed to that top speed due to tire speed rating?

I got a 2024 Mirage, with the CVT here in California. I have gotten to 73 MPH. But I like to cruise at 60. Better MPG at the slower speed.

This has super tall gears.... In the city you can drive it in 2nd like an automatic!!!
It's not that it has super tall gears he left it in third gear when he started the acceleration that why when he got on it the motor took so long to peak at RPM good way to burn up a clutch. I know this sounds of the motor and how quickly these things got the top rpms I have and own one. Mind it isn't a manual transmission its the CVT so maybe that's the difference? Cuz my CVT would've shifted 10 times and been gone so much quicker than that but then it again its also governed too so his still would catch my mirage on the big end just due to a governor. I believe this one is not governed so it's a tid faster that or in other countries the governor is set higher because the have better highways etc.
I had a 2015 and it only did like 89 max and it was very fun made my 392 scat feel like a super car
This is the last tiny car left here in the USA. I've heard the manual trans isn't going to be available here in the future, which is a shame.
I just google it. Mitsubishi Space Star 1,2 Instyle model. It´s a 1,2 l Petrol engine. With 80 horsepower with 106 Nm torque. The acceleration time from zero to 100 km/h (60 mph) is 13.0 seconds. Top speed of the vehicle is 173 km/h (107 mph)
I just ordered mine. The new models have 72 hp/ And the 1.0 lit engine is no longer available.

У меня внутри нет ничего от слова - СООВСЕМ.
Помнится кто то в видосах кричал что базис модель стоит около 10 тыс евро,

Стеклоподъемники и зеркала имеют эл. привод. Все.
Ну не об этом суть, я ее купил на работу добираться и назад. (4 км) Посмотрев видос добавлю от себя-
0:07 я умудрился разогнаться до сотни за 13,5 сек. (по GPS с теми же характеристиками мотора)
Из минусов я б отметил:
-Очень слабый движок. Указано 71 л/с, но по ощущениям тянет где-то на 50-55 тощих кобыл.
-По стаховке, далеко не дешёвая. Считаю малолитражки должны иметь класс 13-14.(Это SF. Кто в теме) Эта же авто, как шпортваген! 17й класс!
-багаж маленький. (ну... меня устраивает)
-Запаски нет. Так как это связано с уменьшением веса автомобиля и по цене дешевле.(Экономят!)
-Нет дачика температуры (установленна просто зелёная лампочка. Гаснет когда температура достигает 60 Градусов)
-на базовых версиях ("пустышках" другими словами) отсутствует крышка багажника .Та что в салоне.(Тоже для экономии сняли!)
Из плюсов-
-очень экономная в плане бенза. Её даже когда кочегаришь она больше 6,5 не показывает. А комбинированный расход я бы смело заявил 5 - 5,5л.
(мой рекорд минималки - смог добиться 4,7 литра! (на автобане, пустой, при 80 км ч. И ветер в спину)))
-достаточно комфортная несмотря на маленький размер.
-вполне ремонтопригодная (все узлы легкодоступны)
10:19 измерял макс скорость тоже, разогнать удалось до 173 гдето. На пятой.
У КОГО ЕСТЬ ВОПРОСЫ ПО ТАЧКЕ СПРАШИВАЙТЕ-ОХОТНО ПОДЕЛЮСЬ ОПЫТОМ (катаю кстати уже 4 год. ни одной поломки.)
bei der Demontage der Primäreinheiten des Druckausgleichers ist unbedingt auf Symmetrie zu achten. Eine plötzlich auftretende Druckwelle im Unterboden kann den Totalschaden des selben zur Folge haben und das sollte man tunlichst vermeiden! Achtet auch immer schön auf die richtige Demontage des Resonanzwächters im Ansauggeräuschdämpfer dieser ist Material überwacht und darf nicht aus billigem Korque bestehen, verstanden?

People say it's not fast enough to keep up with modern US traffic.. Well, I never seen any situation where you need to drive 108 MPH. Usually, even in the rural areas, the passing lane might go 85 MPH. But the slow lane is much slower. Plenty of power! (:

For German standarts its a little slow but the car is just really good i am planning on maybe buying it.
I have 2024 mirag g4 base model cvt and i cruise 80 all day on the interstate in Monatana with cruise control on at 2900 rpm
Also, für den 3 Zylinder mit gerade mal 71 PS macht der "Spacy" aber eine sehr gute Figur auf der Autobahn,
auch wenn er natürlich sehr leicht ist und keine 1000 Kg wiegt...
-Meine alte B-Klasse ist mit seinen 116 PS auch nicht viel flotter, (184 Km/h Spitze)
aber der wiegt aber auch mehr (ca. 400 Kg), trotz mehr Hubraum und einem Zylinder mehr.
Da ich irgendwann mal ein anderes Auto brauche und eh` nur Regional fahre,
wäre der Mitsubishi gerade als günstiger Neuwagen eine (Unterhaltungs)-Günstige Alternative...(Aber dann natürlich mit ordentlicher Ausstattung und 80 PS)
80 Ps gibt es leider nicht mehr - wurde im Rahmen der neuausgerichteten Modellpolitik eingespart

da kannst du halt zetern wie du willst, ich lasse absolut nichts über meine kleine Asphalt-Warze kommen. Für mich ist er halt der herzallerliebste Flitzer und so lange er sehr gut rollt, ist er mein Liebling. Komm, steig ein, laß uns in den Frühling rollen!
Also ich fahr das 2019er Modell mit CVT und bei mir sind die Werte auch so.
btw: bei dem Fabia hätte ich mal kurz am Lichthebel gezogen damit er wieder rechts rüber fährt. Aber egal. Ich bin mit dem Auto super zufrieden. Bringt mich überall hin und bei den derzeitigen Benzinpreisen, mit 4,7l dazu noch ein sparsames Autochen. LG
ist CVT nicht nervig zb wenn du bergauf hochfährst und willst vorsichtig beschleunigen aber dreht immer hochtourig? ich kenne das von andere autos zb von toyota oder nissan usw

I wonder why they reduced the engine output from 80 hp to 71 hp... I have the 80 hp version and I drove also the old 1.0 70 hp version. I was amazed at the difference. Also the acceleration is slower than with the old 1.2 spec engine. Still the old and new spec engine have the same torque output. Very strange.
did you feel the difference so clearly? Is 80 HP faster than 70 HP?
@@monbern Yes it felt like more than 10 hp difference. In practice to do the same acceleration in normal traffic, the 1.0 would rev 1000 rpm higher than the 1.2.
@@ronaldderooij1774 i am going to buy the MITSUBISHI Space Star 1.2 MIVEC Style with 80 hp. So 80 hp is much stronger than this one 71 hp on video
@@monbern Yes, the engine is less stressed out when accelerating. That is the main difference. And fuel consumption is the same.
I guess these hp figures are downrated to meet stricter emission standards for new cars in 2021

Was verbraucht Er durchschnittlich ? Lohnt der 1.2 im Vergleich zu 1.0 L Fraktion, 1.0, 3 Zyl. gibt’s ist Quasi der neue “Brot und Butter” 4 Zylinder. Es gibt nur noch wenige 3 Zyl. Sauger, insbesondere Japaner, leider. // Ich fahre selber einen Cuore, (750 Kg, Leergewicht ), ich möchte den Sound und die Zuverlässigkeit, nicht mehr missen.
Hab verbrauchtest in andere video, der verbraucht echt relativ wenig :)

Also bei 170 km/h hört sich das Motorgeräusch als sehr annehmbar an, also zumindest für einen Dreizylindermotor.
Hat da Mitsubishi aktuell nachgebessert in Sachen Geräuschdämmung, oder hast du die endgültigen Lautstärken beim Videodreh ein wenig runtergedreht ?
Wenn nicht, hört sich der Motorsound bei 170 km/h voll ok an, oder ist es beim Fahren (original) viel lauter, als das eas hier rüberkommt ?
Der space star war an sich schon ziemlich laut. Dennoch ist das in dieser Preisklasse ja auch erwartet. Der Motorsound an sich war schon deutlich zu hören aber dadurch dass der Space Star einen sehr kernigen sound von sich gibt, hat es irgendwie spass gemacht den sound beim ausdrehen zu hören. Mach am bestens probefahrt und fahr auf Autobahn dann kannst du dir entscheiden ob es für dich zu laut ist oder nicht.

I have the Mitsubishi Space Star 1.0 L, Top 71 PS, 88 Nm. Same Power, but less torque. The speed is at 150 Km/h.
What trim is that Mirage? Manual transmissions are only available on base models for US specs.
Trim called: Top. maybe not everywhere has same trim name. i just checked Mitsubishi USA homepage, i think its SE or BE at least

Selbst wenn Du die Gänge voll ausfährst, mehr als 9,9l/100km hab ich nie geschafft zu verbrauchen(bei über 100.000km und immer gib ihm was erlaubt ist - viel freie Autobahn), ich versuche das immer wieder gerne und tanke immer für unter 50€ ^^.
Zumindest bei meinem - 1.2er(80PS, 2017) - kann man den 3ten Gang problemlos weiter hochziehen, im Handbuch (5-39, hab nur das Englische als pdf), da steht:
1st gear 28 mph (45 km/h)
2nd gear 53 mph (85 km/h)
3rd gear 78 mph (125 km/h)
4th gear105 mph (170 km/h)
Dann kommt meiner auch schneller auf 180km/h (nach Navi, nicht Tacho); nach 300km ist dann allerdings auch der Tank fast leer (mit den restlichen 5l schaffe ich noch problemlos 100km im Eco-Fahrstil - und dann tankte ich zw. 32&34l.
Im Ultra-Eco Fahrstil sind 3,5l/100km machbar (Landstraße, ohne eine Verkehrsbehinderung zu sein).
Durch die Autobahnen liege ich bei 5,7l/100km über alles.
Habe bei test drive video mit verbrauchtest bei verschiedene Geschwindigkeit, hast du das schon angeschaut? Da bei 80 kmh habe ich 2.4 liter/100km erreicht, und 2. Gang bei diese wagen schafft bis 100-105 kmh

Is it bad for 3 cyclinders to put it on max level speed for a certain time. They told me 3 cylinders are weak and prone to breakdown when stress and put on to highspeed

Bei meinem von 2018 stand dran er hätte 80 PS.
He drove 160km/hr +... That is equivalent to 100miles/hr+ in the US.

Space Star is the best money for value in The Netherlands, my wife just bought one.....one other advantage is that a Mitsubishi is reliable, always, I really have doubts about that when it comes to a Dacia!

na ok, mein kleiner Flitzer läuft durchaus 180 km/h, aber wozu braucht man das überhaupt, ist doch quasi zu nichts nütze! Unser Familienwagen ist ein recht potenter Angeberwagen, da fällt es schonmal auf mit dem Teil 325 km/h zu fahren, aber man sollte dabei besser nicht den Blick von der Momentanverbrauchsanzeige wegschweifen lassen, dann ist nämlich der Schreck im Nachhinein nicht ganz so kraß!
