I do think that a couple of drinks does make most people slightly more fun and interesting to be with, but it doesn't make up for all the downsides of drinking!
Thanks man! You were a big help to me and really supportive. A lot of people would have panicked at the idea of losing a drinking buddy but you're a true friend
I’ve watched you drink for years and get down on yourself. I always wished more for you because you seem like a genuinely nice guy. I’m so happy you see your potential and a bright future for yourself, you deserve it and I look forward to seeing what’s next. Wishing you a happy, healthy and prosperous 2024 Prozzie.
I never actually quit alcohol, I just sort of drank less and less until I realised I'd not had a drink in six months. I always said I'd probably drink now and then as, like you, I'd enjoyed drinking. After the six months had passed I just couldn't be bothered with it anymore. I've just gone over one year now and I'm very happy with where I am in my life. Well done in doing something that was positive for you.
Right on Prozzie! I’ve never drank and I’m 38. I can tell you that the comments from other people and peer pressure to drink never really goes away. People will understand, but the feeling of not fitting in at bars or parties also doesnt go away. You do you and be proud of where you’re going. Congrats 🎉
I haven't had a drink in about 3.5 years. I read the SAME book. It definitely told me some hard truths I finally was ready to hear at the time. I agree with a lot of what you said (less puffy, more money, more energy, more of a sweet tooth, people being weirded out about me not drinking), and I've had some different experiences as well. For example, I started cooking more and staying in more. Turns out I mostly wanted to go out to drink before. Another couple huge things for me early on was how good my sleep quality was, and how much free time I had to pursue other interests. Being alcohol-free felt like a superpower for that first year.
I watched your video before I felt you're so negative. But these few months, I felt you are happier than before. Good luck! I wish you and Alan happiness. And be in good health and wealth.😊
6:29 *Prositive. Fixed that for you 👍 Well done on the lifestyle change. It's a part of growing up, awesome to hear you are gaining traction and bouncing from win to win!🎉
I’m so proud of you prozzie! I know that doesn’t mean much from a random internet stranger, but I’ve seen you go hard on nights out since the days with Matt & Winston, and as a problem drinker myself I can relate to how it has affected you. I like your perspective on not drinking, and I am inspired seeing how it has changed your outlook on the future. This video was the nudge I needed to decide to cut out drinking. Maybe I’ll check that book out, I’ve heard it recommended before. Thank you, and I wish you all the best! Edit: 1 month sober and feeling great!
Prozzie, I used to be a heavy drinker. I'd go through a gallon of wine every 2 days. I stopped drinking voluntarily 2 years ago 1/1/21 cold turkey. I just stopped. I didn't want to drink anymore and I gained all the benefits that you listed in this exposé. 🇺🇸🤝🇨🇦
I’m proud of your accomplishment. It’s not easy giving up any habit. I’ve cut caffeine out of my life and it’s actually quite challenging. What’s next on the agenda? Any new challenges?
no idea why but Alan Carr easy way to stop smoking worked for me. I recommend that book all the time. cheers Prozzie, nice to hear things are going well for you bro
Wow, I watched your videos during Covid I didn't know when I stopped, your video showed up on the list and I started watching. I'm glad you are sober for over a year and became a permanent resident in Taiwan. It's great to see you've changed your life style!
The return of the moto-Vlog...absolutely loved it! When you introduced the Honda I pumped the air, how brilliant is that! Nice personal review of not drinking, not preachy, but actually very encouraging to anyone who may be considering the benefits of not drinking.
You look so much healthier and younger!!! I almost stopped watching your videos last year, because it seemed so many of your videos revolved around eating and drinking, and it seemed to become quite repetitious. You made such a huge positive change in your life; alcohol is a depressant.
13:17 That's sad, I hope they can value mental interaction more. But Prozzie, I do get a sense of solitarily from you. I could be wrong, but if you often feel it is difficult to get involved in a group of ppl or hard to find a ppl who is willing to slow down to know you better. It is your feature but not a problem, so don't force yourself to do something you don't like just to blend in with the crowd. It is not necessary. And not good for both of you. Hope you can find a better way to adjust to the new normal 14:09 yeah, it shows they do not really know you. If there is a person like "nah, Prozzie is not like that, you guys are overreacting" and still feel comfortable when you are around, then he/she might be a person more willing to know others instead of himself/herself. Maybe they need some time to reknow you? hmm. I'm happy for you btw xD
Thank you for opening up. It's something I've thought about for a while. It feels like a huge commitment to make, but one thing you said that stuck with me is the "fogginess", it's real man.
Hey, just want to say congratulation on this alcohol-free journey! besides your physical transformation, you have a positive out look on life and that is a fantastic attitude to have. All the best!
Prozzie, lifetime non-drinker here, grab a pepsi or coke and "treat" it like a drink. what do i mean; you can still cheers, have something in hand, still be social in that way. it will put them at ease, remind them that you are there because you like them, are there to hang out with them. The comments probably won't go away but they will be more at ease knowing that you care about them and don't worry about the rest. You are not drinking anymore,.. because it matters to you! Don't sweat what others think of your decisions. Love the video, as a non-drinker, i think because it is such a social norm, lots of folks just can't resonate or understand the decision. Have a great day homie!
Well done on keeping it going for so long! I cut alcohol for a few months while doing keto a few years ago. It was a bit awkward when out with friends, but I went from 103kg to 80kg. Cutting alcohol definitely contributed to that! I'm on keto again (after being off it for more than a year) and had only a couple of beers over Christmas and New Year after months off alcohol! And if someone thinks you're boring just because you choose not to drink, they suck and aren't worth knowing.
Pozzie, keep it up. You've done a great job taking care of yourself. The benefits of being alcohol-free and physically, mentally healthy will keep coming your way. Happy New Year!
Much congrats, Prozzie. Very good that your friends still enjoy having you along at bars w/o alienating you. It sounds like you'll be able to continue being a "teetotaler". Personally, I've never drunk much altho I do enjoy drinking. I've always been very able to take it or leave it. For the last 12 years, I've had only one bottle of alcohol per year, a bottle of sparkling wine to celebrate the new year, which I just had. It's not something that I planned, just something that sort of happened.
So proud of you, Prozzie! Very happy for you especially your outlook for life, which is the core source of energy. I have always loved food but a social drinker. Have been to 67 countries overall and 25 in last year. Never thought or been told my life is boring without alcohol. Sure your TH-cam career can take off too with the core source of energy solidified!
Nice job! Whenever I cut down on booze I always notice an improvement in overall well-being (plus my face is less likely to be a puffy uncomfortable mess). I read Alan Carr's book on quitting smoking, and it definitely worked for me - maybe he applies the same principles.
This is an extremely inspiring video. Alcohol can be a darkness for many foreigners in Taiwan. (I’m not exactly sure why). When I was younger I also had my fair share of issues with the bottle and I’m definitely going to check out the suggested read. Good on you and keep it up! 👍❤️
I think foreigners tend to drink more because there are no social barriers stopping you from over indulging like there are back home. Normally you'd have friends and family who hold you accountable but when you move abroad you have none of that, so why not drink whenever you want. I could be wrong though
my drinking habit decreased a lot in Taiwan. There are so many other things to do in Taiwan. Maybe a few beers a year in total. People will only think you are boring for not drinking, if drinking is their hobby. People with other hobbies don't really think much of it.
That's true but pretty much everyone I've ever known has been drinkers so part of the challenge is meeting people that don't drink
Agree, do what you love! Enjoy your life
I do think that a couple of drinks does make most people slightly more fun and interesting to be with, but it doesn't make up for all the downsides of drinking!
Yep, friendships are often based around hobbies. When you find a hobby you love, other people who love that hobby will do it with you.

我不喝酒,住在澳洲16年,跟朋友說我活了50年沒醉過,大家都覺得我的人生應該很無聊😂

Good for you my man! I quit alcohol and illicit(?) drugs 29 years ago and never looked back. Best move I ever made.
