New America needed this song by default across the world... it's still a solid album, but this would have definitely made it stand out, especially as an opening track.
bad religion makes me miss mosh pits & magic mushrooms.too old but the music has staying power. the new songs are as good if not better then the old. who else can say that?
Ever notice that whenever performing, each band member is generally in the same place? From left to right it goes Brian Baker, Jay, Graffin, and Greg Hetson.
the Fast Life and News From The Front are both B-sides from the New America... and they were left off the US version despite the fact that they were some of the best songs BR ever recorded... :(
Sometimes this is the only life I know. Anyhow Bad Religion rules!!!! I think New America and No Substance have really great songs, just they may not have bad songs; they aren't albums I think of immediate end to end listens.
The silent stray inertia No burden on my back No determinance, no ballast No chance of looking back It doesn't matter what's ahead It's time I'll hit it hard No fixing my position No sign of retard It's the fast life There's nothing I can do The fast life Suck it in and follow through The fast life Just learning as I go You might call it careless But this fast life Is all I've ever known Like a wispy feather Defying gravity Or a rolling cobble In the middle of the stream Propelled by a ghost force That never shows his face Increase the ante Of this perpetual pace It's the fast life There's nothing I can do The fast life Suck it in and follow through The fast life Just learning as I go You might call it careless But this fast life Is all I've ever known Ever since the day I came out of the womb My head was always bouncing Off the walls in the room Always scratching gravel Covering new ground No matter how hard they tried They couldn't pin me down It's just the fast life There's nothing I can do The fast life Suck it in and follow through The fast life Just learning as I go You might call it careless But this fast life Is all I've ever known Yeah it's all I've ever known
Those albums are fucking amazing! I bet you're a big New America fan (just kidding).. Well, whatever it's personal preference. That was rather shocking that's all.
WHAT!!!!!! WHAT!!!!!!!!! WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY! You think that no substance is better than recipe for hate and suffer?!? I just shit my pants!! Are you fucking serious!!!!! Recipe for hate and suffer are two of the best BR cd's ever!
Yeah surly evolutionism is the theory that "the proper one". Creationism is kinda joke to me, but... Christian view of science accepts evolution. Pope and priests agreed on evelution long ago. And evolution isn't on countary to religion at all. If you believe in God you can say that He created mechanisms of evolution and let it goes on ;)

BEST BAND EVER!
"Propelled by a ghost force that never shows its face - increase the ante of this perpetual pace!"
One of their greatest lyrics
This song is amazing they definitely should be including it regularly! This, don't sell me short, and 1,000 memories are best from the new america!!!
Best punk band ever imo.
Ever notice that whenever performing, each band member is generally in the same place? From left to right it goes Brian Baker, Jay, Graffin, and Greg Hetson.
And now 2024, It’s left to right , Mike Dimkitch , Jay Bentley, Greg Graffin, Brian Baker and Jamie Miller on Drums ..
I've never seen Greg have such a good time on stage, he clearly enjoyed singing this song alot!
the Fast Life and News From The Front are both B-sides from the New America... and they were left off the US version despite the fact that they were some of the best songs BR ever recorded... :(
Nop, both are bonus tracks respectively on the "European" New America and Stranger than Fiction.
I have both of them
Holy shit! That song was fucking awesome! It should be on every album!
man, Europe gets the best extra tracks. Shattered Faith stands out as my fav...
いつ聴いても最高です
I played this song for my son almost every day while in utero.
They need to play this in their live shows now. It's be killer with Brooks.
I miss Brooks Wackerman in Bad Religion :(
A real BR gem. They kill it live!
Kicks ass
01:33 - 01:43 - no, mr. camera mixer - Hetson plays the solo here!

Great song, I love the intro.
Sometimes this is the only life I know. Anyhow Bad Religion rules!!!! I think New America and No Substance have really great songs, just they may not have bad songs; they aren't albums I think of immediate end to end listens.
Always loved this song, and wish it landed on the album here. Would love hearing it live again!

THE FAST LIFE
Que pena que esta canción no sea tocada mas en vivo.
This song is the best song on the album. Except it wasn't on the album o_0..
concordo
best!
Will someone please explain to me why european and japanese versions of cd's have bonus songs? wtf? Why are there different version anyway?
Ask the record labels. I think they wiil argue that it sells well.
Nice song 0.0
anyone have a source to download this song? can't even find it on any file sharing networks.
The silent stray inertia
No burden on my back
No determinance, no ballast
No chance of looking back
It doesn't matter what's ahead
It's time I'll hit it hard
No fixing my position
No sign of retard
It's the fast life
There's nothing I can do
The fast life
Suck it in and follow through
The fast life
Just learning as I go
You might call it careless
But this fast life
Is all I've ever known
Like a wispy feather
Defying gravity
Or a rolling cobble
In the middle of the stream
Propelled by a ghost force
That never shows his face
Increase the ante
Of this perpetual pace
It's the fast life
There's nothing I can do
The fast life
Suck it in and follow through
The fast life
Just learning as I go
You might call it careless
But this fast life
Is all I've ever known
Ever since the day
I came out of the womb
My head was always bouncing
Off the walls in the room
Always scratching gravel
Covering new ground
No matter how hard they tried
They couldn't pin me down
It's just the fast life
There's nothing I can do
The fast life
Suck it in and follow through
The fast life
Just learning as I go
You might call it careless
But this fast life
Is all I've ever known
Yeah it's all I've ever known
@DaJammerLammy

I got that song on my europe version
Those albums are fucking amazing! I bet you're a big New America fan (just kidding)..
Well, whatever it's personal preference. That was rather shocking that's all.
European Version! FTW!
They have WAY more than 10.
B side Holy shit!
And why isn't this on MY US version!?
I'm angry now! (just kidding, I could never be mad at BR)
WHAT!!!!!! WHAT!!!!!!!!! WHAT DID YOU JUST SAY! You think that no substance is better than recipe for hate and suffer?!? I just shit my pants!! Are you fucking serious!!!!! Recipe for hate and suffer are two of the best BR cd's ever!
