This concert is a masterpiece. Aurora has tuned her arrangement to fit the natural acoustics and the availability of the backing. This one is about the rejection of suicide, composed whilst still a wee bairn. My fav from Nidarosdomen? Eyes of a Child, Lucky is a close second.

What is over me is the fact that she has this amazing technique.. and as far as I know....she didn't get formal training the way she changes and applies the right way for each part of the song Aurora is simply amazing...love her forever.........

@@panchiolarranaga1616 I found it always funny to watch ''thechnical'' ppl explaining Aurora singning, where I live I can see the northing light aurora and trying to discribe it and explaining the reason and cause kind of take away the magic and the beauty of that ballet in the sky, Aurora singning is the same for me, I don't want to explain it, I just want to enjoye the magic 🙂

I know the feeling. They are all my favorites too. Her new song, "Your blood", is quite different. It makes me weirdly happy every time I hear it. You should have a listen. She is experimenting more with her voice, it seems. Putting on some effects, maybe. But it's still "Aurora sound". Thank you, Nina, for your analyzis. I always learn something new from you❤

I have always believed this be one of her finest songs. But this performance is so wonderfully executed---from the venue, the lighting, the orchestra, the choir, the recording and above all this angel singing brilliant lyrics----it's almost too good to be true. All the right ingredients to make this simply perfection!!

Another excellent analysis Nina. The Nidarosdomen concert is an artistic masterpiece, with every aspect being of the highest possible quality (venue, staging, performances, song selection, sound recording, camera work). We are so fortunate to be able to continue to watch this, as initially, the cathedral authorities were reluctant to allow a secular performance to go ahead. Thankfully they were convinced to allow it to proceed. So much about Aurora is fascinating, her vocal talent, the way her mind works in her song writing, her amazing personality and her mesmerising stage presence. Here is a gem for you- Aurora bantering with her audience in a 2018 concert in Amsterdam, then delivering an off the cuff, acapella rendition of Nat King Cole's "Nature Boy" (th-cam.com/video/1-LtCbPUoTM/w-d-xo.html). I hope you can find the time to watch and enjoy it.

I'm not sure you can pick a favourite. Because it changes with each listen. Depending on the mood, and...
I really like this one. When I listen to it all at once, I always start crying at the apotheosis. It's like a cry. With the "let go"... yes, she lets go of everything. The vocalization follows ... it's almost primal. While the lyrics touch the deepest part of your psyche, the music and her voice speak to your soul.
    Magnificent reaction.
And, oh yes, watch this concert in its entirety. It's one of her best.

Hello Nina, Aurora said about the drums in this song in particular that it represents as a "heartbeat", you know, so it fits the lyrics perfectly ("To be alive"...).
This was a very important aspect during its creation process.../=> It is even more obvious in the album version because of the "post-production" / But glad you noticed it ;-)
For the next one (?) I have checked, I don't think you already have react to her "Aurora | Queendom | Loustic Sessions", very very "refreshing" version of that song ^^

Oh, it is one of my favorite performances by Aurora as well. Really enjoyed your feelings for this one. Another of my favorites is The Seed, performed with Aurora and a full orchestra. Here she uses her full performance carisma and vocally it is just amazing, but also interestingly a bit different than other versions, and so much dynamics with the orchestra support. Please enjoy: th-cam.com/video/WP0yDmk6yzI/w-d-xo.html . Imagine that this was shot during 2020 pandemic, she was longing for performing to an audience!

Haven't hit play yet....but given your attentive music knowledge and perceptiveness....I'm curious if you'll zero in on one specific note in this that I simply adore.
It's just before the chorus, on the line _"...different places that I've been. that I've BEEN."_ It's that last note on the last "been." It sounds sliiightly jazzy...maj7 vibes maybe? It's so pretty. Also, during the bridge...it's subtle, but the intertwining melodic lines from the choir are achingly gorgeous. Some really intricate and nuanced voice leading that adds up to a harmonic bed that connects with something really deep in me.
It's impossible to listen to the studio track after hearing this performance...THIS is the definitive version of Lucky imo.

Hello Nina! I was just on my way home from work when I saw this reaction video come out. Lucky it didn't snow on the way home, because then I would have been a danger on the road ;-) This song and performance is the absolute most important song for me ever made. The atmosphere, the arrangement, the descriptive and shown emotions, the expressions in her whole body. The strength of the voice, her clarity and vulnerability is otherworldly to me and makes this my soul song. When you most need something healing and comforting. I listen to it. It is completely genius to start as sparsely as the very low giant organ and then rise to a crescendo in the end o
    f the the song.
Something that I missed is that none of "all" professionals analyzed Lucky but that it was you who was the first. Made me so incredibly happy. Thank you very much Nina.💖💖💖

You made my day Nina, I love your "Aurora stuff" 🙂
Please check out her new song "The Conflict of the Mind" - she has a very unique music video, and in my opinion well made also (and the song is for me very very good, and with epic potensial live...)
She wrote parts of this when she was 9 !!! And as I have understand it, it was almost finished at age 12, ang complete at 18.
"When asked in an interview by Bergensmagasinet if the line "not everybody knows that I am lucky to be alive" was inspired by a specific event, she said:
"It can be interpreted in many ways. I am hypersensitive and very sensitive to everything around me when it comes to sounds, lights and the way people speak [the tone]. It was difficult for me when I discovered that not all children are as well off as I am; I thought a lot about how sad it was, and that I'm just lucky to have been born right here. It feels so random, like a stroke of luck, like something I can easily lose. There is a lot in the world that you can feel threatened by, things that can make you think that I will not survive this" (from: Aurora Aksnes Wiki, a fantastic source for Aurora facts, I don't think I can link it, but you will find it I am sure.....)
