Ooh that would be very fun to experiment with. I would actually print on laser transfer paper. Just remember that you will have to mirror the image if you are transferring that print or it will look backwards on the finished result. The reason I wouldn't do baking paper is because it may get jammed in your printer and that seems like a nightmare!

If the laminator is really heating up, it may be an idea to put a piece of timber or plywood under it to stop it discolouring your table (which it will over time, as your table looks to be laminate). Note - don't use MDF (medium density fibreboard), that's really, aah, bad if it heats up, but if you use timber (or maybe a timber kitchen chopping board), it will save your table!

Nope! I just printed like normal. Now when I say normal, always make sure they your print settings match your paper type! Becuase that effects how the toner adheres to the paper.

If its the heat making this stick to the toner could you not use a heat press as well? Then you could set the temp, and timer for the press. I'd imagine a lot of people who make shirts let's say, would have a heat press.

The ink tank system appears to be much better than the cartridge system th-cam.com/users/postUgkxciSwynMJ7PnUvvx11rewiu-yFBkZTl53 and a lot cheaper to run. The machine was easy to set up. A small point but I thought they'd be a USB cable included to help with the set up but there was none. I've been using it now for a few weeks and it seems like a good product and superior to my previous printers which were all troublesome HP machines.

@@customdept8889 thats strange because the foil only reacts to the toner from your printer... Maybe try the Heidi Minc or a different laminator.. Its probably not getting hot enough.

@@high5back694 I see the problem... Is there a background to the image? Because if there is a slight color, the toner will pick that up. The solution is to remove the background with a program like Photoshop.
The problem you are having is you a printing on too low of a heat on your printer. In the printer preferences switch it to labels, so the printer will get hotter and lay the toner down properly so it wont be speckled and flake off.

No, this works only with black laser toner. Hence, a laser printer is required. Also, consider Minc machine since it has several temperature levels and it heats up fast. Thick cardstock requires more heat.
What is the reason of bad foil stamping? many of points after laminating are still black and they are now covering with gold foil. Should i print with higher quality or i need to repeat the laminating proces few times to get best resaults ?
I always use the paper method now. I noticed the foil doesn't work very well with the laminating pouches. I think they just blocked too much heat that the foil needs

If the butterfly was colored, let’s say blue and red, but had the black outlines. Would it still only foil the black?
This method requires toner, which is only black. A regular ink printer won’t work.
You could print the blue and red on inket then print the outline on laser and the one that was printed with the alser print would show up with foil

Try printing your paper with the label setting preference as it's the hottest the laser gets and adheres more of the toner to the page

This will not work on inkjet as the toner needs to be heated and regular ink jet ink does not heat up like toner from a laser does.

No because you have to print on it with your printer. Use htv for that method.

Try the highest heat setting and run it 2-3 times :) That usually works for me!! You can always rerun it after you peel it with a fresh foil.

Ive used the 5 setting. The highest one. Also did you use a laser printer? This does not work on ink jet.

Those are laminating pouches. They would laminate your foil and paper together like old fashioned drivers licenses.
