    This is soooo beautiful. I agree that babyboomers are hard to do with gel but this polygel made it look sooo easy. The glitter poly gel is gorgeous, TFS.

    looks beautiful I've started doing polygels when Gelish came out with their line I really like them for certain clients They seem to last longer and be more durable for them, but I am also a gel girl I don't do acrylics

    Thanks for the video. I just found this brand which is available in the US and they have hema free products as well so I’m super excited to try. I really love how you don’t edit out your trial and errors, because it’s nice for beginners to see what the process is. It’s not going to be perfect our first try. Beautiful job! 💗

    I live in Colorado and we have Magpies everywhere. This packaging make them seem like sweet little birdies. They’re not…they’re big, super smart and a bit aggressive. Especially if you have food. 😂

    I use hard gel too and doing baby boomers on myself is time consuming. I guess after practice it would be heaps quicker with the polygel products. I have never used them but I may just give them a go. Can you let us know how they wore on your nails in regards to lifting.. Thanks as always for sharing your knowledge with us. 🌸🐨🌸

    • @NailsByKatieDutra
      @NailsByKatieDutra  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Just an update! I’ve had very minimal lifting, and the little bit of lifting I do have was most likely my fault because I got a little to close to the skin in some areas as I was getting used to the product. ☺️ thank you for watching! ❤️

    Katie, this makes me want to buy polygel, again.
    I gave it away the first time.
    To be honest I think I would only use it for the French ombre.
    Thank you for the great tips 💜

      @@NailsByKatieDutra since this was your first try, how long to you think it took you to achieve this beautiful result? Did you do all 10? If so did it get faster with each nail that you did?

    • @NailsByKatieDutra
      @NailsByKatieDutra  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I did do all 10 but I don’t think that’s a good time representation because it always takes me way longer to do my own nails lol. I haven’t done it on an actual client yet.

    I know I'm late to the party, but just thought I'd put in my 2 cents... Remember that the slip solution is only to wet the brush enough to prevent the gel from sticking to it. You don't have to go back into it each time like you would with acrylic. Think moist and not wet. The solution won't change the consistency or cure-ability of the polygel, but over flooding the cuticle could contribute to lifting. You have naturally beautiful nails and this is no exception!

    • @NailsByKatieDutra

      Yes I definitely used too much liquid! After using it a little more I’ve got a better idea on how to use it. 😄

    • @NailsByKatieDutra
      @NailsByKatieDutra  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I need to try this brand. I’ve used Artistic Nail and Gelish. I really don’t like either of those because their polygel is so thick I have a hard time squeezing out of the tube and pressing it on the nail. This Magpie looks easier to work with.

    • @NailsByKatieDutra
      @NailsByKatieDutra  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I’ve never used those but I understand what you mean. This definitely was a different consistency! I love that it has some self-leveling properties.

    Turned out so nicely 🙂. If you dip the spatula in the liquid first then the gel the gel won't stick to it 👍

As well, can you do more educational videos on products that are easily accessible to non-licensed techs. Thank you and stay safe. Happy Holidays Katie.

    Your nail looks beautiful! I tried to go on magpie's website. Unfortunately, you had to have your nail license to purchase their polygel. People like me who do our own nails at home we don't even have the ability to buy this polygel. It makes me sad because it looks amazing.

  • @amandahilburn8949
    @amandahilburn8949 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Gorgeous nails. But these are called hard gels not polygel. They are basically the same but polygel have more acrylic and are much stiffer. There many companies that call there products polygel when in turn there are just hard gel.

    • @NailsByKatieDutra
      @NailsByKatieDutra  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      All polygels are a gel, they just have acrylic powder in them to make them thicker and paste like. This is definitely much thicker than a regular hard gel. They actually call theirs an Acrygel.

  • @mrsthomas718
    @mrsthomas718 ปีที่แล้ว

    that's a hybrid gel...polygel is brand name of hybrid gel

    • @NailsByKatieDutra
      @NailsByKatieDutra  ปีที่แล้ว

      That may be correct but I still wouldn’t call it a “hybrid gel” as that is what CND calls their Shellac so that could be confusing for some. Most people know polygel or acrygel
