I've been using CachyOS for over a week now and it's been awesome. Super fast on my machine, and I haven't needed to go back into windows for anything so far.
The best/stable distro ever used, and believe me : I've done some distrohopping since 2007 ;)

Halo infinite is jacked on Nvidia, ever since 343 told Nvidia users to roll back their drivers. Essentially you need to nuke the compdata folder every boot.

Would this work well with a 5700x cpu and 3060ti gpu on an asus prime x570 pro using a gen 4 WD black m.2 ... This is one of my PC's that I was considering Linux for. Just unsure what OS to use for best gaming results or is there a better choice for gaming
i suggest find a small ssd and try install linux on that alone, try and error with it for while until you make big switch, surely it hard and need time to adjust when change from Window, im still trying and finding

Hello, I am a complete beginner in linux. With an i5-4690K cpu and a gtx 1050Ti OC, how do you think my computer performance would improve? I'd like to put together an AMD machine but it will take some time. And the cachyos seems very beginner friendly. I don't play many games, warframe and a few story games.
I tried Nobara Linux but it was not a positive experience (for me).
CachyOS is always worth a try
I have a i7 2600k with a 1070 Duke OC and personally CachyOS runs really well so far... every other distro I tried got nuked by nvidia 550 driver installs lol.. 😅
Cachy just works out of the box no issues
Only issue I just discovered with CachyOS is there is no nvidia powermizer settings under 550 😅 also noticed some lag in games like Dragon Quest 11

I'm a fan of arch kde. Mainly artix. It's been good for file transfer and storage. I'm wanting to move. Was looking at fedora spin of some type, Linux mint or Cachyos. Going with a new build still for storage and downloads. Using x99 board. Xeon e5 2667v4 32gigs ram and gt710. Not for gaming. What's your thoughts?
Nobara or fedora 40 is really good and cachyos is super fast and simple as well

For a gaming question. How do you compare cachyos to bazzite or holoiso?
@@BobbyEaton-v6t holoiso and bazzite are both steamos like distro both locked down and cachyos since you didn’t mention handheld version is a desktop os that is open and not immutable at all and I highly recommend. Now that being said i have a video explaining brazzite and I won’t ever use it or holoiso either.
Not thanks it is not for me. I need a vanilla install then config my needs to code c/c++, asm, php from the official repos.
Actually on Debian 12 (12.5 iso img). Playing path of exile and I can say it runs faster (using 3060 rtx 12gb) than in windows 11, which I deleted since I know about the 24H2 news. Don't need visual studio anymore \O/ !!
As soon as plasma 6 kwin patch, wayland and Nvidia are all set officially installable, I will go back 100% Archlinux! I anticipate all this from next jully/August....❤❤❤❤❤

I succeeded to get Cachyos to be setup with bcachefs. Later, I decided to redo the installation (as a practice). Since the first time, no success was achieved with Cachyos. I have been trying with every combination of setup options. I need some repeatability. This week there is a new kernel released, I would like to see a new cachyOS with this new release and the corrections to the insallation program to allow bcachefs

Hello, how could you compare cachyos with vanilla arch? I have used vanilla arch for 2-3 months and it was fine but i have to delete it because i was using it as dual boot and so on... Anyways i used cachyos kernel in vanilla arch for a few times but did not thoroughly compare.
Cachyos is just faster period and more optimized and more stable
@@Mattscreative also just wondering which desktop environment do you prefer? I used plasma, gnome, cinnamon, xfce and a little bit of hyprland. Personally i liked cinnamon most then xfce

That was not a vm lol that was a real world use also i have never used clickbait before and I won’t start now cachyos is great but you have some issue to work out like an eye test

or change number to newer version of driver if you have 555
I don’t use steam for cyberpunk gog was a better deal and no drm
