Hi kev how’s it going I’m doing my test class 2 rigid soon do I need to have cpcs done or a taco fitted to drive a recovery truck if I got my own truck or what way does it work any info would be great

As for the cars on the inside of your turn in Australia vehicles or combinations 7.5m or more in length that have to straddle lanes or turn from an adjacent lane in order to turn at intersections must display a warning plate on the rear that says ‘do not overtake turning vehicle’. Despite these signs there are still plenty of numbnuts who do it then get upset about being squeezed against a kerb or pole. And of course there are the always present sit in the blind spot and wonder why the HGV driver does not see them twits. BTW not an HGV driver I just have some not so common common sense.
It's a fantastic job, not your usual trucking job, keeps taking fit as there's not a lot of sitting around and u can't say I've suffered the Monday morning blues since doing this, actually looking forward to getting back in the truck tomorrow morning 🤙🤙
Apparently the “new rules” aren’t actually law, they are advice. Bit like the Covid do not leave your house rules we all followed including me shielding, turns out I didn’t have to do it at all as it was just advice!

Surprising number of no shows recently, what does the company do about them? It's a waste of their money and resources ultimately! Will they rearrange for another day or be blacklisted etc if they don't rearrange/make contact? Just curious, feel free to tell me to buzz off if I'm being nosy lol 😂
The legit cancelations, like change of plans and stuff are just rearranged, complete no shows that we have no contact from are noted and more stringent check done if they ever book another another vehicle in 👍
Great video kev loved the sound of the horn I wondered what happened as a no show you were up in my area gloucestershire I live in hereford so you were not far away from me and if you ever get time try and stop of at Birdlip on a clear day you can see for miles lovely walks around there looking forward to the next one
Hi Kev, thanks for another interesting video. Thinking about the Corsa that had rolled a few times and possibly injured the occupants , are there any cars that you refuse to take because of the state of the interior?
Not really, it's the nature of the job, we regularly deal with fatal write-offs, I don't show these on the channel due to the sensitivity around the vehicle. I use to be involved with police recoveries from the accident scene many years ago so this side of the work doesn't bother me.

is that a baby shark theme horn lol, makes me wonder how much fuel is spent aswell as all the other costs running a fleet or trucks since cant imagine all the cars being a great profit for the company, is a shame to see minor damaged nice cars like that fiesta getting written off mainly because of their age
It is indeed baby shark 😁 plays several other tunes too. You would be surprised at the value of scrap, especially when you extract other valuable parts off the cars 👍
Welcome Ethan, it depends on the age and value of the car, some go to auction, some broken for parts and the real shitters go straight to the crusher after having the valuable bits removed 👍

Hey Andrew! From memory ( someone please correct me if I’m wrong ! ) to be able to drive a transporter like Kev is in, you need your ‘Class 2’ Licence ( any vehicle over 7.5T ) and your CPC ( Certification of Professional Competency ) aswell as doing another theory test, ‘Class 2’ is the rigid vehicles ( like the transporters ) ‘Class 1’ is HGV’s that are articulated ( Artics ) You have to do your Class 2 ( Rigid ) before going into your Class 1 also Hope this helps bud!
