Well done to the commentator for acknowledging Kirani James in relation to what he have been through since Rio. Being diagnosed with graves disease and losing his mom. All the time he missed away from the sport and coming back to run sparingly to conserve his energy. To once again win an olympic medal. Is just a remarkable achievement. Well done kirani. Steven Gardiner's waving to salute (around 2:55) is really refreshing after the showboating by almost all his concurrent (except the previous one). I was rooting for him after that!
Showboating in itself isn't so bad, a lot of the time it's done in jest, and adds to the entertainment value. I couldn't imagine sports without it and there've been so many memorable poses and celebrations throughout the years. Even the handwaving, I'm sure he knew himself it would stand out because it'd go against the grain in this specific case. I want to know Warholm’s 400 flat, on an Olympic stage, he could certainly make this final, if he trained for it as well. He would honestly get a medal lol…
Look at this stuff. Gardiner's so fast on the straightaways he has to reel himself in on the curve, not because he's tired but because he is going too fast!!!!! In a 400 metres with no curves this guy would run under 43 easily. More like 42. He is flying on the back straight. What a stride.
Very doubtful that he has to reel himself in the curve, considering the sprinters at 200m and 100mx4 1st & 3rd leg runners doing the curve under 10 sec.
@@Markmsv Just looks like he runs a little top heavy with those broad shoulders, and so only opens up fully on the staightaways. Don't worry, he's still moving on the curve!!!
