Thank you! It is a decent station - you get 70s which you don’t get at Reading mainline which is the advantage, the disadvantage is that you tend to not get drags as they come down via Reading.
It’s superb for freight! The beauty is that there’s junctions at either end of the platform at one end you have the west heading GWML which in turn branches off to the north via Oxford or GWML to the east which serves the north via London and at the other end you have a branch off to Theale, Newbury and the West Country whilst the other branch is to Basingstoke, Eastleigh and Southampton docks - so it’s amazingly well suited for freight.
That would be such a great idea for 111! Reading West is really good for freight, essentially at one end of the station the line splits in two - one time Basingstoke (which gets all the Eastleigh and Southampton traffic) the other towards Newbury so you get the Theale traffic from that among others stuff then the other end of the station there’s another junction to the left you have the lines to Wales, the west and the north via Oxford to the right Reading and the north via London… so it gets some good stuff. Both Reading West and Reading are good but West is better for freight in my opinion.
