For me, THIS game is the only piece outside of comics to get Mysterio correct. He was insane, egotistical, and took joy in torturing Spiderman. And Darran Norris' high, annoying pitch along with the psychotic laught he gave him is EXACTLY how mysterio should sound. This is the mysterio i can see that would go so far as murdering an innocent baby or make peter think aunt may is dead just to screw with him (yes he actually did these things).

Well, I always imagined him being probably Spidey's most challenging enemy (though that belongs to Green Goblin or Venom). Think about how many times he was to be the final boss in every Spider-Man game. He was the antagonist/final boss of Friend or Foe, Shattered Dimensions and he was gonna be final boss of a cancelled game.

I've loved every aspect of this game since I first played it in 2000. One of the few games that have truly stuck with me over the past 18 years. At one point I went about 10 years without playing this game, but the music would still pop into my head every now and then. I believe that this is some of Tommy's best work.

Time period affects so much on musical style. You are quite right though, boring "epic and emotional" orchestra has made videogame musics boring. One reason is always the same these days: mass appeal. This theme has 90's written all over it. Very crunge and also nu metal sounding.

As of Far from Home, we nearly have every founding member of the Sinister six in a movie. Dr. Octopus (Spider-Man 2) Sandman (Spider-Man 3) Electro (The Amazing Spider-Man 2) Vulture (Spider-Man Homecoming) Mysterio (Spider-Man Far from Home) Hope the sequel to Far from Home includes Kraven the Hunter (Stefan Kapicic and Jason Momoa are popular choices)
although No Way Home did make a multiverse movie, there were plans of just Kraven being the villain due to the identity reveal of Peter, but I do like the direction that MCU is going with Spider-Man making him more comic accurate not with 1 movie but a growth over a trilogy, Kraven in MCU Spider-Man 4 is likely what's gonna happen, they probably won't do last hunt and we almost had Sinister 6 with Kraven in because he was teased when the multiverse was cracking
Well, you never even realize that these games had this good music until it ages after years so perhaps the new games DO have cool soundtracks but we just don't realize it... TBH tho, this sounds alot better than most themes in new action games that try too hard to be tragic and badass at the same time.

someone after someone over something and the lair is a poorly lit arcade room where the lights of the games work and are used as camouflage while this music is being played at the best volume as from who ever`s being tracked down and the ceiling lights don`t work like they use to and after yelling and brawling who ever`s being a henchmen gets their defeat and that`s all i can come up with
