I will pray ALWAYS - i offer a hail mary at every mass and everyday for Fr. Chris Alar, Fr. Donald Calloway, All Marian Priests, ALL PRIESTS, the cardinals, bishops, pope. We would not have Jesus in the Eucharist, we would not have the sacraments, sacramentals if it wasnt for our dear priests who have offered their lives up for us in representation of Our Lord Jesus. Nothing more important on this earth than to have our souls in the state of grace because of our beloved priests. Thank you and God Bless you all.

When I went through marriage prep, the man I was marrying was a widower, very wealthy, and best friend with the priest. I got the bare minimum in information because my fiancé didn’t feel we needed it and the priest did what he said. We ended up divorced with an annulment soon after marriage. I knew nothing about marriage and the man misunderstood marriage. All priests should be required to educate as thoroughly as this video did in marriage prep, otherwise they are only failing the couple and possibly directing them to hell instead of heaven due to a lack of knowledge in truth. Thanks for the great information!

Great discussion on a topic that I am passionate about, having had a profound conversion where God intervened through our Blessed Mother to save my marriage during a pilgrimage almost 17 years ago, having led a life of promiscuity. I had an illumination of conscience seeing Jesus on the Cross emitting rays of pure white and red lights every few seconds while my son and I were praying the Divine Mercy on my way back from Medjugorje. In this time of moral confusion where sins of the flesh are normalized, I believe divine intervention is necessary to correct our conscience. When God grants this illumination of conscience to the world as a final act of His infinite love and mercy, it will be joyful for those close to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of Mary, transforming those who are lukewarm but a shock and awe for those far away from God, living in mortal sins. Pray for the conversion of hearts.

Being single is not a vocation. One chooses their vocation. Many wanted to marry but it never happened for them. Most people don’t choose to be single.

    • @DrChristineBacon
      @DrChristineBacon  หลายเดือนก่อน +5

@dianawilde417 you're wrong according to the Church. You can use the same argument for marriage. Many want out and are in pain and don't choose that. Many are married, and their spouses leave, and they have to live as if their prodigal spouse is a POW for the rest of their lives. No sex. No dating. No one to shared his and pains with.
The existence of joy or pain doesn't define whether or not one is in a vocation. All vocations have joys and sorrows. Many single people could "choose" to marry but are too picky or choosy or any other reason. Most COULD marry and have broken off engagements. That, is still a CHOICE to be single in a sense. We have got to follow the Church and not make up our own laws.

From what you say then, Why did my marriage get annulled, when all the criteria was met sacrementally. I sometimes think that the money paid to get an annulment is where the focus lies. The man who cheats can say that he was not ready to committ even though he stood strong before and knew what was expected for a sacremental marriage and was adamant that he knew what a sacremental marriage was in the Catholic Church.

How can they believe that he didn't know he was getting into a sacremental marriage when he was younger and active in the church when I met him. Then went on to serve in all those capacities while brought up the children with the same values. He has left the children floundering in their faith and have left the Church. We used to pray together every night and say the rosary as a family till they became young teens. I tried, he tried but our Church clergy failed us! We needed counseling and conversation but got nothing. For that I was very angry and almost left the Church myself. If it wasn't for a major God intervention, I would have left.

We are doing an injustice to many through all these easy annulments. How God will judge all of that is not something we can say for sure. We do not know of the complete picture of these peoples lives. We don't know the repentance, contrition, and or conversions they've gone through. Thank you Fr Chris for teaching the truth.
. There are so many Catholic teachings we are clueless of.
I've always said, unless we hear these things from the pulpit at Mass on Sunday, most Catholics wont hear them. Obviously these topics would be tough at Sunday Mass, but most Catholics dont do extra curricular Catholics things. Sure if a mission comes to the parish, many will attend, but most Catholics are good (at least in their minds) with going to Sunday Mass and they're goid to go!
That said, that reveals a greater problem. How can we say that we love God with our whole heart, soul, mind, and strength, (which is a command, not an option) if our God time only consists of going to Mass on Sunday?
Loving God is the First and greatest COMMAND! NOT OPTION.
Try coming home to your wife or husband one day a week and see if your spouse thinks you love them.
Try just talking to your spouse one day a week and see how that works out for you.
Thank you Fr Chris for talking about these truths of our faith. We cant fix what we don't know is broken. Thanks for making us aware.

Dr. Bacon - You've just described my situation exactly (at 50 minutes in), though I have 8 children. I think the real question we have right now is... Is there a systemic problem in the US? Beginning with the priest that supports divnullment... and then a tribunal that grants an unjust annulment? It happens in so many different cities that I am leaning heavily towards yes. You see, the same philosophy that supports a greater % of annulments due to socio-cultural influences also applies to tribunals... and to Joe Parish Priest who supports divnullment.

What Greek word for love is used in that passage from Corinthians? I'm curious how St. Jerome would have translated it. I imagine it's not Eros, as I don't think it's used in the New Testament. It is my firm belief that most wives are leaving their husbands for a lack of Eros, not Agape. They don't "feel" like they are loved, but they don't see their husband's sacrifice. And then they chase Eros with another fella. I know that some husbands do this as well, but 70% of divorces are initiated by women, so I'm just going by the numbers, because 95% of the time divorces happen, it's simply adultery.

Christine, please forgive me. I think the comment you mentioned was from me on the video about the married priest. I re-read it and realized why it sounded like I was upset but I was not at all. I only had a minute to type that comment and I just did not word it well. I was actually coming to your defense because I saw comments from some people who seemed annoyed because of your position on annulments vs. the married priest story. I was trying to say that you can't really compare the two. I didn't elaborate, but I was thinking of how rare it is for priests to be released from their vow of celibacy and are allowed to marry, vs. the sheer number of annulments, which we know some are probably for weak reasons, as you mentioned here. I said that there are some legitimate cases of both annulments and priests who are allowed to leave their vocation and can marry. I truly wasn't attacking. I removed the comment. I won't comment anymore when I'm restricted on time, so my thoughts come out correctly!

I am a devout Catholic and did NOT stop listening to all Priests but I did stop following his channel. I watched him take a breath and think before he said something and his response was honest and he stuck to Catholic Doctrine. Good! I truly enjoyed a lot of their videos but I just stopped. I am reconsidering my stance on that, unless he does it again this next election. We can’t be American and pick and choose our freedoms and there was public knowledge that has been forgotten, which weighs heavily in my stance. It is said that the average adult memory lasts about 20 years and I believe that. It’s unfortunate and Catholics have dishonored a good Catholic and broken one of the Commandments in doing so. But my point was stretched way out. Sorry. I am glad Fr. Alar is maturing, and I love Peter but he could be impetuous at times. We are ALL human!

A very informative talk, but there was a contradiction. Father Chris said, the “only ordered and proper sexual activity within marriage” is the male finishing inside the female. Dr. Bacon correctly adds, His seed must be placed always inside the female and nowhere else.
Father Chris then says the Church comes right out in Theology of the Body and teaches oral activity on the female “is allowed except as long as it’s within the total marital act” but on the male if it ends up finishing prior to the coitus that is not proper and a lot of people have no knowledge of this. This is a contradiction. How can there be any oral activity on the female if the “only ordered and proper sexual activity within marriage is the male finishing inside the female?” I hope Father Chris or Dr. Bacon will see this question and answer it. Also, “where” does the Church teach that oral or manual stimulation is “acceptable or not” on the male or on the female before the male finishes inside the female? Sadly, some priests are teaching oral and manual stimulation is acceptable while others say it is not. I say, do what the Catholic Church teaches but where is the answer on what the Church officially teaches???
