      @@DrChristineBacon I recall a priest saying that Satan and the demons cannot read our minds, but if you start complaining aloud and vocalising all the things you dislike about someone and all things about them which irritate you, then you have just armed the demons with the knowledge of what to specifically target in your imagination and your memory in order to distort your perception of the person and reality. This distorted view is the lie you now believe and it makes you angry and resentful, then the demons have a play day with you and lead you into more serious sins such as cursing and violence. The best thing to do when we feel angry, and especially if we think we are losing control and think we are going to explode, is to look at a crucifix, or better still, we should force ourselves to kneel down and look at the crucifix. You don't even have to pray, just look at Him. Just look at Him for one minute! If you want to think of something when you look at Jesus hanging on the Cross, then think, "This isn't what they did to Him, THIS IS WHAT I DO TO HIM!"

    “ Theology of the Body “ is not “ Anatomy and Physiology “ of the body. I’m sorry, but the actual sexually explicit information is lacking. Men and women are very different in their sexual needs and responses. Father Alars comparing himself to a Doctor treating cancer and him, himself giving advice on what is “ chaste “ in a marriage sexual relationship is simply not valid. The Doctor may not have had cancer, but as former RN, I can tell you that he would be intimately acquainted with the disease - the diagnosing, treating and hopefully curing a patient. That requires years of study and hands on experience. This talk really gives no real information on sex in a Catholic marriage. We are human beings, not the Trinity, which is perfect, of course. Sounds lovely but not a down to earth explanation for me, personally.

    This is a very difficult teaching and seems almost inhuman, but I fully understand what is being said and give ascent to it, to a certain extent,, as a Catholic, who is far from perfect. Of course this teaching applies to all of us. The terrible revelation that many many priests have molested children and raped girls and even boys, throughout the world and in some cases have had children themselves, makes this Holy Teaching almost esoteric and impossible to achieve, especially by the setting of this terrible example alone. May we offer all our imperfections, including those that happen in the bedroom, to Christ and ask Him to "perfect us in charity", as the words of the Holy Mass, say. We all learn slowly in life, sometimes by discovery. Love making is a beautiful thing and not simply about pleasure but about discovering the person, in their totality in their physical, emotional, intellectual and spiritual. Afteall that is why it is called "Love" making. God is Love and the human body is God's creation and is in itself beautiful in every aspect including our passions. Our religion does not tell us to be stoics but to be fully alive in our total human make-up. Wasn't it St John of the Cross who taught us that Heaven is like a thousand orgasms, or words to that effect. The achievement of total chastity is a life long journey and the teaching of it has to be digestable and contextualised within the mileu from which a person or a couple live, including the consideration of their age. It is far easier for an elderly person to repent of their carnal sins on hindsight, as they do an audit of their lives , than it is for a young healthy and vibrant couple who are to be expected to achieve this highly challenging but truthful goal that God sets us, precisely in order that we may always be humble before Him, with our sins always before us, as the Psalmist says. Thank goodness, that God gave us the Sacrament of Confession, for He knows we often fail in many ways including in this highly challenging Divine teaching. We have to be careful , especially the professionals on here, in not gaining for themselves a false authority on something so delicate, for who knows what goes on behind closed doors, in their own lives. I do not think God would be pleased about placing heavy burdens on ordinary people who are simply trying their best to be faithful and good despite their own frailities and weaknesses.

      @franksinatra5281 I'm confused. Why is this so difficult? A man can STILL enjoy a climax EVERYTIME he's with his wife, except in her vagina and nowhere else. A woman, sadly, doesn't get that assurance of climax. Only 15% of women achieve one vaginally. I'd say that is not difficult at all of a teaching.

    • @franksinatra5281
      @franksinatra5281 วันที่ผ่านมา

      @@DrChristineBacon The teaching is difficult not from a male point of view as you seem to be focusing on and have misunderstood. I'm not talking as.a male but as a Christian. The fact that sex between a married couple is restrictive for both male and female, eg. No masturbation, no anal sex and other natural sexual acts pleasurable to both sexes, in other words, that are restrictive makes the chaste sex objective difficult and goes against the grain of a couple enjoying each others bodies. I didn't say it's a wrong teaching but like all of God's commandments challenging just as the idea of loving our enemies is challenging. You seem to think I was talking only for men, I wasn't !!!

    Fr. Chris Alar, like most Catholics, is a misogynist who blames wives for divorces and annulments. Fr. Alar dishonestly blames wives for getting annulments based on the psycho Canon 1095. *I know of 7 Catholic professional men (3 doctors, 3 lawyers and a dentist), in my archdiocese - 6 from my childhood parish, who got themselves annulments because they themselves claimed they were too immature to make a valid vow.* Fr. Alar has it backwards. A Christian husband does not "respond" to his wife by "accepting his wife's need for love and care..." Husbands are the leader... remember? *So husbands are obligated to lead in love and wives respond in love.* Fr. Alar is #GenderConfused. He flip-flops from husband is the leader to wife is the leader and the husband "responds" to her leadership in service, by "accepting her need for love and care." That is backward, misogynist, unbiblical and unnatural. Men initiate and women respond. Everyone knows that! Clergy are always fixated on power and authority. Then they deny that they are fixated on power and authority - while they neglect responsibility. Clergy exaggerate wives' marital obligations and minimize husbands' marital obligations. Marriage is a 2-way street... or else it's abusive. Then clergy blame wives for divorce, even when the divorce is provoked by the common male vices: drunkenness, drug abuse, domestic abuse - physical or verbal, gambling, greed, selfishness, pornography, adultery and criminality. Men lust after power. Clergy lust after power. *The husband is also obligated to serve his wife and his children. Christian leadership is servanthood.* (Matthew 20:25-28) But priests never explain that. Priests ignore those Bible verses. Husbands are obligated to sacrifice for their wives, *daily,* not only in an emergency where he might die. (Eph 5:25) Fr. Alar deflected from *the husband's daily obligation to sacrifice for and serve his wife,* by jumping immediately to death. That is a quick trick to deflect away from the husband's day to day obligations. *Catholic clergy are misogynists.*

    The "Errors of Russia" include habitual male drunkenness, domestic abuse, no-fault divorce and abortion. As CA Gov, Reagan signed laws approving or liberalizing two of those. Russia enacted Prohibition in 1914 and the USA enacted Prohibition in 1919.

    Catholic husbands don't lead, so wives have no one to follow. Fr. Chris Alar lives in theory and ignores reality. Per Ephesians 5:21 both husband and wife are obligated to submit to one another. Drunken, selfish, abusive, gambling, greedy, pornography using, adulterous and criminal husbands do not lead.

    Could youask Father why orthodox and Russiam Orthodox Catholics approve contraception for married couples? They have valid sacraments and were founded by the original 12 apostles. They are as "Catholic" as we are.

    Just 1 more step. Go get your Catholic Divorce-Ah ah Annulment and you’ll be good. Even if you’ve been married for decades and have several children, they will grant it as most diocese have a 99-100% approval of finding nullity. What a sham
