Subaru is athletic, he likes to workout and he probably got a boost in strength 'cause of mana. Compared to the average peasant Subaru is kinda strong.
I think i read that Re Zero's world has less gravity than the real world, if that's true, Subaru was already strong and athletic in the real world, so Subaru is at least stronger than normal people in Re Zero
One of the things that shows how good Re:Zero's writing is, is the more you look into and examine it, the more sense it makes. This might sound weird but there's so many shows that seem good until you look deeper into what the characters are doing and why, than you notice all the plotholes. With Re:Zero it's quite the opposite things that seem like plotholes like Rem and Ram holding Subaru's hands when he has nightmares makes no sense until you really dig into the characters and what they'd be thinking in this scenario.
I think you need a third pair of sunglasses to complete the set. Seriously though, this was a great perspective on the actual events of Re:Zero. I constantly thought about how other people would view Subaru's rapid growth and divine inspiration, but I didn't realize how crazy it really was.
biggest issue(though quite unclear to anime only's) is that ~2 months actually passed between arc 2 and arc 3. So presumably Subaru had more than one date/ journey to the village with Emilia. Otherwise great job
Thats the most amount of time subaru got to enjoy life in this new world. Randomly going back to rbd in season 3 had to be horrifying after such a long pause.

Giving up and then what? You're sent to the same point in time forever That is, unless you just HAUL it outside of the area and try to live a normal life for a few years, but then get murked in the classic rezero fashion and get returned to the very same checkpoint you ran away from lmao
I wonder if he ran away to a safe location and just got past that point in the day, if it would update to a completely new checkpoint. I imagine it would since the ability is just for self preservation right?
@@kazutrash i suppose satella herself wouldnt want that, or probably had known how the timeline should be, and is cheering on subaru to help the rezero world to finally kill satella herself, like i suppose she knows that as long as subaru moves and has been learning about the witches and defeating the archbishops, then subaru can finally reach where satella currently is
@kazutrash There's a "What If" story that covers how Subaru's life would have played out if he and Rem would have ran away together when he asked her to. They live a happy life, have children and die of old age just as Subaru believed. However, once Subaru dies, he returns right back to the spawn point he was trapped in before making that decision. So he still needs to deal with that situation.
Thank you so much for the recap. It's been a long time since I watched the first season and a half of Rezero and I'm glad to have been caught up to the anime
Yes, the Emilia camp can easily prove it by using someone who can detect lies. And with the large number of people bearing witness to the events that happened at the sanctuary, people can't dismiss it as a misinterpretation by the lie detectors or the delusions of a group. But all of that would require them to give a full, detailed account of what actually happened, and that runs the risk of exposing all the shady shit Roswaal has done (not to mention the many secrets the camp has hidden, such as the gospels, Echidna's tomb, Meili, etc.). All of this is enough to get their sole sponsor jailed, and Emilia's candidacy disqualified. That's why the Emilia camp decided to give the council a vague report.

But if the person doesn't really know that the rabbits are all exterminated, but thinks that the rabbits are exterminated, they wouldn't be telling a lie, but we wouldn't know if they would be telling a truth either, since they wouldn't know 100% for sure.
Yeah, just watching this made it clearly obvious how Roswell figured out Subaru had an "ability" to foresee the future and return from it, which played a massive part on what lead to propagating the events of the Trial/Sanctuary Arc (Season 2), in fact, Subaru unintentionally sped up Roswell's plans to use Amelia to resurrect Echidna as Roswell believed Subaru's gift will help him achieve it (he was right). When Roswell figured it out (poor Subaru, yes you're a pawn my friend, Roswell even reveals near the end of the arc that this is the case too), he has no clue how it works or what triggers it, but the clues are there from: 1) Subaru's precognitive behaviour on each successful loop. 2) The weird things he said which are now set in stone on each successful loop e.g "I'm back here again" (which Rom obviously told Roswell). 3) Him knowing about the pendant, knowing about Puck, knowing about Puck's powers and making odd comments with somehow knowing people when it is the first time they ever met him and it is very strange he knows all these things without being anything more than a complete stranger. 4) He has the scent of the Witch on him. 5) What Subaru did with the whole White Whale situation. 6) He knew about the cult's activities. We also need to understand the extreme time gaps between the events in Re:Zero, the events of season 1 took place over a span of just 2 WEEKS, you heard me right, 2 weeks; For Subaru it was more like a Month of Groundhog Day nightmare, but from the perspective of everyone else, it was only two weeks (that's right, Rem fell for the boy in just 3 short days, go Subaru). Season 2 takes place roughly a week after the events of season 1 (so yes all of this happens in roughly 3 weeks) and that entire 20 something episode season takes place over a period of just 5 days, which from Subaru's perception is more like 3 weeks of agonising time loops (The Witches however remember all of it from start to finish, along with Subaru). Now we've skipped a YEAR for season 3 and Subaru and Emilia's relationship doesn't seem to have progressed much in the past 11 months, ouch (when Rem by comparison was ready to make the home run out the gate if Subaru returned her feelings). Yeah...
The worst thing is that emilia cant remember any Scene, where Subarus love for her developed. Like the beautiful scene where she shows him the spirits for the first time.
Must be super confusing! Like imagine having someone, for no given reason, suddenly love you to no end to the point they will die for you several times over. You barely know this person, yet they seem to know everything about you. Care about you despite all your flaws and wish nothing but the best for you. At times they might mess up and royally fuck up, but they still clearly care about you on an almost impossible deep level. And then you begin to realize Emilia's confusion mirrors Subaru's confusion for why the witch have such a deep love for him....and realize she, without a doubt, have the same kind of power as Subaru as she is the one giving him those powers.. Cough Cough.... I seriously love the mystery behind it, because it is so obvious that the witch knows Subaru or at least knows a different version of Subaru...possibly a future version of him....Time travel is confusing man!
i think alot of people who critisize subarus mental break with emilia or trust in rem in season 1 even after finding out shes killed him multiple times forget that subaru spent around 4 or 5 times as much experiances with them than they have with him, he has formed close bonds with them in other timelines that they dont know about and overestimates his relationship with them, and i think that came full circle in season 2 where he bagan to underestimate his relationships instead fearing similar outcomes
41:45 remember when subaru died in the bunny loop? How horrible it was? Now look at those villagers...yeah kids, women, men, old ones, they experienced the same thing...Tappei nagatsuki (author) is an Monster
I like that through other people perspective subaru is just your avergae overpowered MC taking down the whale “without” rem and having all this knowledge and master plans
Actually from what I know, there is a one month time skip between arcs 2 and 3. There's even short stories during that month in the manga. But still great video mate 👍
You are an absolute legend man, seriously. So many will not understand how long and how much effort goes into something like this. Thank you for this. Earned a sub from me today and will be recommending this channel to my friends 🔥
What's ironic with the "Subaru can see the future" idea is that Stargazers canonically exist and are important entities in one of the 4 major countries. Stargazers receive visions of the future from some kind of "overseer". So basically seers are real and it is very plausible he could be one.
27:20 I always though the reason Subaru is immune to Gluttony's authority is because of his time travel. Basically, for same reason he remembers what happened in previous timelines means he can't be made to forget things. But the whole "Authority resistance" thing makes a lot more sense, especially because of my head cannon for Subaru's return by death. Basically Satella uses quantum super positioning or something of the sort to send Subaru's consciousness back in time. Or more accurately she predicts the future with extreme accuracy using hyper complex physics and implants said memories into Subaru's mind. I believe this is the case because it requires the least amount of effort out of all the other possibilities. By that I mean literally sending Subaru's mind/soul back in time would take so much energy (without funky magic) that it would be easier to send him to an alternate universe, and predicting the future with nearly 100% accuracy and implanting artificial memories is hypothetically plausible, unlike the prior two, making it the best theory according to me. It could also be that Satella lives outside time and space and can simply send take Subaru's memories from any one point in time to any other point in time or something of the sort. Ether way the whole "behold an unthinkable present" theory is the least convincing out of all the others.
@kazutrash Rem getting erased caused Subaru to gain a bigger Hero rep because he accomplished his feats without Rem which meant anything Rem did got rationalized as Subaru did it.
@@kazutrashlikely not possible to do with animation especially as everyone suffering an after the fact delusion she did not exist. Nothing adds up really on deep examination. So they might come away with Subaru might have hidden combat power but be unable to maintain that illusion if carefully studied, Unfortunately the person with the best ability and resources to detect things actually knew it was happening and manipulating it so no one else knew. Note with the whale long time doing it and careful record keeping allowed them to realize a lot of what was really going on. Especially if they standardized procedure. Part of it stories did not add up. Food and supplies kept being violations of procedures. Birthing slots acquired with no need for them, squatting women and children kept showing up in housing only assigned to troops with families. I love that author knew authorities with spy assets and controls against thief and misbehaving would over time put together roughly how the whale worked. Note several recent large hidden organizations just don’t work in reality for similar reasons. All efforts to erase memories and fake things fail as records and procedures prove something going on.
Actually the "victim of the witch cult" rationalisation people might have in-universe to comprehend Subaru is extremely accurate, it's just one word too long, which in their world would be seen as infinitely worse. He is a direct victim of the witch herself. Even Satan wasn't as feared in medieval Europe as Satella is in the isekai world of Re:Zero, so if it was made known that she considered Subaru her personal property, he would receive nothing but sympathy.
Would like to say thank you for a great recap of something I was actually looking for today. (Also kind of weird the video suggestion came up after I had spoken this aloud about the true timeline when talking to a friend....they always listening) I don't post much on TH-cam (Im an X guy) but I wanted to let you know the work you put into this video was great and you deserved some kudos for doing such a nice job. Sent you a tip :)
Arc 4 is seriously one of my favorite arcs I've seen in anime so far in my like two years of being a part of the community. This and the Tokyo Blade arc in Oshi No Ko are my top 2 rn.
About proving the white rabbit demise, as seen on the new season there was a 1 year timeskip so after 1 year without any signals of them(and they would be looking for them to prove subaru a liar) the average folk probably started to believe emilia camp actually did it, and after priestella which is closely followed by the conquering of auria sands and the tower there would be no doubts to any claim made from the emilia camp, and after vollachia we will probably see subaru being forced to throroughly explain himself to the lugunica council for the shit he somehow pulled.
Am I crazy or did it literally get brought up in the new episode that they beat the white rabbit? Like didn’t Reinhard bring it up or something? I gotta rewatch it lol

"God misheard guard and came down instead."

i love the fact that, they are basically strangers. at most coworker aqauntances. ram, dislikes subaru. yet is fine with being yeeted by her legs.
also subaru is still a normal human, normal earth human. how tf did he YEET ram so far.
He is really strong compared to the average man from earth
probably adrenaline boosting him so yea
Imagine if after a certain amount of deaths subaru just resets all the way back to the appa guy bro would lose it
Satella would be like, oh sorry wrong save point
I wouldnt say lose it. He probably wouldnt be too happy, but it would also allow him to correct a lot of the mistakes he made as he grew as a person.
biggest issue(though quite unclear to anime only's) is that ~2 months actually passed between arc 2 and arc 3. So presumably Subaru had more than one date/ journey to the village with Emilia.
Otherwise great job
Thats the most amount of time subaru got to enjoy life in this new world. Randomly going back to rbd in season 3 had to be horrifying after such a long pause.
@@MrBigsmallguyIIRC it's been 1 year since the events of season 2, so he had even longer to get used to not fighting through death loops before RBD came back with a steel chair

Bro Subaru's life is a living hell 💀💀💀 Imagine not even 3 hours passed yet problems pile up again and again and again, and Subaru's the only one that has the full scope of what's happening, and you have to solve all of these problems in a quick time succession or else it will blow up in smokes 💀 Nah man I'm so giving up at that point 💀
Giving up and then what? You're sent to the same point in time forever
That is, unless you just HAUL it outside of the area and try to live a normal life for a few years, but then get murked in the classic rezero fashion and get returned to the very same checkpoint you ran away from lmao

They can prove the extermination of the white rabbit by using someone who can detect lies
@@catking7901 oh dude that’s genius you’re right 👀
Yes, the Emilia camp can easily prove it by using someone who can detect lies.
That's why the Emilia camp decided to give the council a vague report.

they can prove the extermination of the rabbit by throwing people into the same dimension where the rabbit is. Like a personal mutilation chamber
But if the person doesn't really know that the rabbits are all exterminated, but thinks that the rabbits are exterminated, they wouldn't be telling a lie, but we wouldn't know if they would be telling a truth either, since they wouldn't know 100% for sure.
Really happy that there is a flow of new Re:Zero content as we inch towards S3
Yeah...
Season 1 wasn’t only 2 weeks since there was a 1 month timeskip between arcs 2 and 3.
@Vivian_228 Yes you're right, forgot.
Never expected a full callout. I waited to see how you incorporated my comment but that was a surprise
@@bibbobella Well said, I agree with everything said!
i think alot of people who critisize subarus mental break with emilia or trust in rem in season 1 even after finding out shes killed him multiple times forget that subaru spent around 4 or 5 times as much experiances with them than they have with him, he has formed close bonds with them in other timelines that they dont know about and overestimates his relationship with them, and i think that came full circle in season 2 where he bagan to underestimate his relationships instead fearing similar outcomes

@@sethfoster1394 thank you so much man! Means a lot :,)
I was always looking for a video like this since season 2 to see and understand other characters view of Subaru and what they know about him
What's ironic with the "Subaru can see the future" idea is that Stargazers canonically exist and are important entities in one of the 4 major countries.
Stargazers receive visions of the future from some kind of "overseer". So basically seers are real and it is very plausible he could be one.
Just got done with re: zero so impeccable timing with this video! Will definitely look forward to the version with season three as well
Emilia thought kissing created babies YET she still willingly kissed Subaru.
Homegirl wanted to bear Subaru's kids 💀
I just want to let you know that I respect the shit out of you for adding the titles of the musical pieces used and crediting the artists
Theoretically, for others characters real timeline happened without Rem.
Oooh good point that is true, I could have gone even further without even including her lol
@@kazutrash That'll be INSANE... Rem fanboy would mass dislike your vid xd
What are you guys talking about? Who's Rem?
@kazutrash Rem getting erased caused Subaru to gain a bigger Hero rep because he accomplished his feats without Rem which meant anything Rem did got rationalized as Subaru did it.
@@kazutrashlikely not possible to do with animation especially as everyone suffering an after the fact delusion she did not exist.
Nothing adds up really on deep examination. So they might come away with Subaru might have hidden combat power but be unable to maintain that illusion if carefully studied,
Unfortunately the person with the best ability and resources to detect things actually knew it was happening and manipulating it so no one else knew.
This is an amazing breakdown! Everything, and even more, that i wanted!
When you watch it again like this it actually feel like a normal anime
Omg, I've had this idea for years, I'm so glad somebody actually did it
It will be very interesting to see this video for Arc 6.
I just finished watching the first two videos last night lol, what timing.
Hmm, so Reinhard got Daddyguna and Subaru got Mommytella (I know, sounds cringe)
