Wow. Bi-polar, schizophrenic and manic. He was asking for help on the interview. They need better help for people with mental health issues. They can’t keep their on jail forever unless the crime requires it. No matter how many times you are arrested. Now he’s going to jail for life and still will not get the help he needs. Atlanta was hot yesterday.
Rest in peace to all those who lost their lives and recovery for those injured.

In some states, there are mental health courts. If a crime is essentially due to a treatable mental problem, a criminal case can be xferred to a mental health court. If the judge accepts a treatment plan, the subject is required to follow it for a period of time, and criminal prosecution is paused. If they screw up, the criminal case is revived.

In 1981, the Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act (OBRA) was approved by the National Congress and signed into law by President Reagan. It included provisions that repealed most of the MHSA (Mental Health Systems Act), discontinuing federal funding and the support for community mental health centers established under the MHSA. This caused thousands of mentally ill people to be let out on the streets and to this day mentally ill people make up the majority of the homeless population in America.

He sure did go on about being bipolar and not being on his meds, and his shirt is very sus. Right after this interview he hijacked the bus, then shot a passenger who later passed away. Where did the gun come from? Have police checked his weapon to see if it was used in both incidents?

This is a tragic event involving public transit, condolences and prayers go out to everyone involved, also let's not forget the suspect has 19 prior arrests, but the allegation of him having a mental illness, now the question is this: Who failed Who. The mental health system only works if you use it, how many of his arrests were contributed to his mental illness and why were no flags raised about it. This story should serve as a reminder that mental illness if left untreated either by oneself or unwillingness to seek help, might result in something like this.

Police in this country have no logical reasoning. Why not follow that huge bus by helicopter and have officers follow at a good distance? Police riding beside the bus with lights on will only rile the suspect up causing him to travel at dangerous speeds. There were people on the bus, possible elderly and children. If the bus had flipped or went off a ravine then what. I’ve seen video of the suspect speeding and crashing in cars. This police thinking of going 0-100 in every situation only gets innocent people hurt.🤔🤦🏼🤨😡

How did he get his hands on a gun? His family knew that he was a danger to the public. They should have kept closer tabs on him and figured out a way to get his medications into his system (maybe mix them into his food or drink)
The parents of the latest mass shooter (I think somewhere in the Midwest), were arrested, tried, convicted and thrown in jail recently.
