I was 12 when this was a hit (still have the 45). I never saw who sang the song until 3 days ago, but if I had back in the day I surely would have been crazy about Peter Tetteroo. Great voice, beautiful and sexy. Such a shame he died so young.

Same here the media used to control who we got to see. In other words who made it and who didn't, and the Rock shows and artists got heavier and more outrageous so they would be talked about. Then people had to go see the show, to see the players but the shows as well.

Ja het was geweldig daar in Scheveningen met het hele spul van de Tee Set ! Niet te geloven dat dat allemaal daar is verdwenen. Als je ziet hoe ongezellig en kil het daar nu is in die hoek. Toen leefde dat enorm met ook later PamPam erbij ! Een sfeer een gezelligheid die ik nooit meer zal vergeten. Alles kon daar toen en niets was te gek. Maar de gemeente Den Haag dacht daar anders over. Dood en doodzonde !!!!

Singer Peter Tetteroo had a unique voice. They had several hits in Europe. This song " Ma belle Amie" even made it into the USA Billboard Top 5, as a part of the " Dutch Invasion" on Colossos Records, like also Shocking Blue with their self penned hit VENUS.
For the Tee Set, watch also their biggest hit " She likes weeds" boycotted in the USA where they related Weeds ( herbs) to drugs ( Marihuana)

Wanna here something funny? In early 70's, K-Tel (remember them?) had a "22-original song/artist" lp's, w/ this song...inside cover, showed 3 black guys standing at keyboards, i'd' as "Tee Set" - hilarious!!
they also showed that picture in a TV commercial for the album. Until I found this today I thought they were a black group for the past 45 years.

Yes, Tee Set was a great band from The Netherlands in Europe ! In the USA there was only the hits" Ma bella Amie" and "If do you believe in love". But in Europe, Asia and a lot of other countries in the world many, many hits !!
Funny that I never heard "If You Do Believe In Love" back in the 70's. It's a really great song. The only one I heard back then was "Ma Belle Amie".

No it's realy Herman van Boeyen ! On that moment was Herman van Boeyen member of The Tee Set for short time. Also on the American-tour. After Herman was Max Spangenberg the new drummer for long time ! --------------Nee is toch echt Herman van Boeyen ! Die was ook bij dat Amerikaanse tour-tje de drummer. Herman was drummer als lid van the Tee Set voor een kort moment in 1970. Daarna kwam Max Spangenberg voor een hele lange tijd. Carry Jansen was drummer op de Lp Emotion in 1965 tot 1967 daarna werd Carry opgevolgd door Joop Blom en die zat er tot ongeveer 1970. Wel Is Carry Janssen nog drummer geweest bij de come back van de Tee Set met de hit Linda, Linda en de geen hit TV-Boy. Dat was in 1978 tot 1979. En met de revival in 2014 bij een eerbetoon aan de Tee Set en wijlen Peter Tetteroo was Carry Janssen ook de drummer van de tijdelijke heroprichting voor deze ene keer van de Tee Set uit Delft, tijdens de laatste editie van Westerpop in Delft !!

Good Call! It does sound like McCartney on harmony. I've heard this song many times before and never realized it. A+
I commented on this post on another vid. Lip sync'd..No! It's so live, with ad libs and even off key at times. Anyway, since Peter obviously multitracks the harmony on record, that part had to be taped for the performance. Whether the music is supported by tape I can't tell but most probably. Sill they're playing their parts live.

Yippes...how embarrassing...what to do with those long arms and legs. And someone needs to learn how to transpose music to his poor guy doesn't have to screech "...I'm in love with you" way out of his register.
