    Erin, this came at the perfect time for me. I had made a five rows of 25 single crochet stitches using tee shirt yarn. I was intending about another 35 rows for a rectangle rug. I realized I should have done rows of 50 not rows of 25 for a bigger size rectangle rug. So I decided to do your 3 single crochet in the corners and skip next stitch and go all around my 5 rows of 25 stitches making them the center of the rectangle instead of one of two short ends. This way the rug grow on all four side of the rectangle! I am loving it! Thanks. So easy and soft on my arthritic hands.

    Compliments to both you and Mr. Cameraman. Erin, you have saved me so much time making mistakes as I start out my journey crocheting rag rugs. Your patience in showing the method in detail is wonderful and (I'd call him Mr. Awesome) Lyle is so great at getting clear closeups of you working, it's like watching over your shoulder at a class. Thanks for all you're teaching and sharing, I absolutely love hearing "it's a rag rug, just relax"...that stops me stressing about perfecting the rug when dealing with various weights of materials being used.

    Hi Erin. Love your videos and have started crocheting my own rag rugs. Wondering if you have some sort of formula or method of predicting how much sheet yarn you will need for a particular size and shape of rag rug? I keep running out of the colors/patterns I'm using before my rug is of the size I want it, and then have to go out an find more sheets that will go with what I've already used to make more sheet yarn to complete my rug. Thank you!

    • @RagRugsbyErin
      @RagRugsbyErin  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I am glad you have started a rag rug. I do not have a formula on how much sheet yarn you need to make a rug. Most of my average rug use 2.5 lbs to 3.5 pounds of sheet yarn. I hope that helps some. 🌞

    • @RagRugsbyErin

      It could work however t-shirts have a stretch and it could make it wonky depending on your tension with the stretch. It may require you to make adjustments or it might be spot on. Sorry I can't give you an exact answer but that is the nature of making rag rug. I hope that helps.
