    Can this be the same if you put em in the stove oven? Or i would need an outside grill for better results?

      @@BeginnersBBQ came out great. Smoked some unhusked corn on the cob while the brats cooked. Used a different rub but still great.

    Tried smoking brats but noticed that the skin gets a bit tough. Does the added oil help with that? Flavor was certainly there but the tough casing was kinda gross. (Johnsonville)

    • @JohnWickenhouse
      @JohnWickenhouse 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’ve noticed the same, I think the skin needs a higher temp or shorter cook time. Not sure which it is but I’ve noticed when I cook them at 325-350 the skin is much less tough than a longer smoke. I wonder if you smoke at 250 for a while and finish at a high temp how the skin would be.

    Good advice! I’ve noticed a lot of pellet grills cook faster or slower than each other. Kind of strange seeing as it’s all temp based. Lol great video

      Depends on the quality of your smoker and how it retains heat.

    I'd like to know how you checked internal temp. they spew juice if you pierce the skin. and none of those looked shriveled and spewing.

    • @BeginnersBBQ
      @BeginnersBBQ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is true, but I checked them with a thermometer and I forgot to add that clip to the video. You might be able to tell if the camera got really close to the one I poked. But i did.

    Depends on temperature before you smoke. Smoking at 0° is different than 70, 80, or 90.

    • @BeginnersBBQ
      @BeginnersBBQ  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That is right. That’s why sometimes it takes longer than normal because it’s cold outside.

  • @bobdillon7832

    Yea, NO. BRATS are inherently flavorful. I have NEVER heard of ANYONE "seasoning" brats. That's just messed up. Also, the one main point of a smoker is that it cooks evenly everywhere. You shouldn't have to turn brats, burgers, NOTHING. Delete your channel.

    • @JustinHall1976
      @JustinHall1976 ปีที่แล้ว

      I mean, you have good points but are you doing the most telling him to delete his channel? Ha ha!
