A couple of tips....ditch the lighter fluid and use a chimney starter.....give the brats a good sear (be careful not to get them too hot and break the casing) on all sides and then move them off the coals, throw a wood chunk onto the coals and close the lid (250 was perfect). Just let them sit for about 30 min and then you can start checking doneness with an instant-read thermometer.
@@heshworksbetter2777 I go to my liquor store grab a 12 of Heineken and a huge stack of free advertising mags like house shopper or your towns paper . I grab a huge stack each time I go lol. Stock em up in a used charcoal bag
Thank you for showing this video. I wasn't sure to parboil the brats first then cook but I see you just through on the grill as raw and not cooked. Good to know and yes I must agree. Charcoal chimney makes all the difference. Also another tip use the paper from the charcoal bar for the flame source. Works so good. no wood chips. no lighter fluid or anything and these chimneys are around $15 for Kingford brand. I bought 2 of them in past week cause there that good plus you can increase the production of coal for longer cooks as such for ribs like I made just yesterday. Seeing rips take about 2hrs to cook.
Such a small channel for now but I have to thank you times a million. My husband works nights and crazy hours so I keep screwing up grilling anything lol. I’ve watched many videos on grilling and didn’t get it right until finally I stumbled on your video lol. They came out amazing for once !!! Please make more videos my toddler is destroying my brats lol 😂
Thank you so much! I'm glad I could help out. 🙂 The channel is really just a side hobby that I thought I'd try so it's still small, but it's succeeding! I'll definitely make more grilling videos - it seems to be a hot topic. Thanks for the support! 😀
No no…thank you lol 😂 I’m sure it’s going to do awesome 😎 I’m not trying to make requests or anything but you know if you ever feel like showing us some grilled steaks I wouldn’t complain 🤷🏽♀️😂
I love bratwurst the cheddar brawts are my favorite the only bad thing is they take awhile to cook and can easily burn the outside without cooking the inside
Try cooking the brats indirectly instead. No flare-ups and you'll get a more even cook. Also, use an instant read thermometer or a digital grill thermometer for temp. Don't cut into the brat, you'll lose all the juicy goodness.
Never use a metal brush!!! I’ve hd brand new ones lose a bristle and get in my Burger. If I go to a cookout and they use a metal brush I won’t eat there.
Chimney starters worth the investment, but I don’t like to use any fluid, it takes a minute or two longer but I don’t, “taste” the fluid that always ends up on my hands.
You lost me at Lighterfluid, great way to ruin a grill though, use a starter chimney. The lighterfluid is benzene based fuel, this leaves a bad flavor on all your food, more importantly it coats the inside of your grill with petrol base oils that forever ruin a good smoking seasoning you could have developed.
Thank you for the feedback - always looking to learn. I use lighter fluid strictly because I'm pressed for time when trying to cook and need to get the fire going quicker.
@@daddycooks3888 I recommend building a charcoal mini volcano inside the grill.. grab a couple paper towels and add damp em with cooking oil.. all you do is throw the damp paper towel inside the charcoal and it lights it up very quick 10mins at most!
Fluid like all gas or petroleum base will burn off fast. If you are tasting fluid you didn't let it burn off lol. I don't use fluid but you guys make up these stories about changing taste lol or you read it somewhere and much like today's society you parrot what you read. You crowded them to much leave some space between the brats they cook better also put some wood smoker chunks soaked in water that way you get better flavor
You lost me at the lighter fluid mate . Nobody uses lighter fluid anymore get a 15$ Weber chimney and light with paper and dried pine cones . You’re welcome
I was thrilled with the grilling and being touched by the holy spirit music playing in the background all at once. Awesome!
Thank you!! You are the only person who cut open and showed a fully cooked Brat!
Underrated comment here lol

I still don't understand why people still use fluid. I simple use a chimney and the outside layers of the bag as the starter fuel.
@@heshworksbetter2777 The bag is the best! No need for wax cubes or tumbleweeds or any other fancy fuel starter IMO.
@@heshworksbetter2777 downfall of using the bag is that flaky white ash it produces. It gets all on the inside of the grill.

Fluid is for old schoolers who still love the nostalgia. Just leave us alone! Lol
Based on feedback, there'll be no background music on the next grill video...

Might want to turn volume down on background music. Rotating end to end helps with more even cooking.
GREAT VIDEO MY FRIEND.
NOW IT'S TIME TO CLEAN THE GRILL REAL GOOD. IT'S LOOKS LIKE YOU HAVEN'T CLEAN THE GRILL SINCE 1999
Did you get the music you played on this video from church ?
The music!!! I wanna know how to cook brats but I can’t take it
😂

I can’t wait !!
Thanks for sharing a great video, be happy and blessed
Thank you for watching!
Great advice just a lil tip you should have rotated them 360 so both ends are cooked same … great advice 💯
You mean 180? 360 will get you to right where you started
Wow amazing dad ever, 👌👌👌
This is ur pure love for ur kids♥️👍
Thank you so much 😀
Great job sir
Thank you sir!
Love your method of cooking the brats! One suggestion on your video, even though I like piano, maybe less of it in the background.
Thanks for the feedback!
Too much piano but great video and great detail. Thanks man!
Thank you! Yeah, I didn't realize just how overpowering the background music would end up being.
@@daddycooks3888 Still a good video. About to grill my brats now. Hopefully it helps me 🤣👍✌️
@@daddycooks3888 Just volume imo. Very nice score. Kind of kept me watching even when I got the gist.
Why the music..?
I love bratwurst the cheddar brawts are my favorite the only bad thing is they take awhile to cook and can easily burn the outside without cooking the inside
Ya lost me with Lighterfluid. We left the Benzene flavored meats in the 80's

No light fluid
Thank you for the advice. I'll be trying this today.
Please master the music down, it drowns you out.
No need for aluminum foil??
Absolutely none! 🙂
Needs more cowbell!
Nice video but the music is so loud in the background I had a hard time hearing what you were saying.
Better flavor with charcoal. I agree 👍🌭🌭😋❤️🙋♂️☝️👏
Insanity at every level!
Yeah...the piano was drowning out what you were saying. It was really hard to hear you.
Yeah sorry about that... still learning how to balance imported background music with the original audio.
Overall great video just turn the music down 😂😂
Look at the grease just flying out of those things it’s because you popped the casing during cook
Good information. The music is too loud it’s distracting.
와우 맛있겠어요~^^
숯불향이 여기까지 납니다
소세지 좋아요~~
Thank you for watching! :-)
You should repost without music bro. I found myself having a hard time hearing you.
Never use a metal brush!!! I’ve hd brand new ones lose a bristle and get in my

What song is in the background?
Lighter Fluid Sonata
Your music is overpowering your voice instructions 🤨
You have years of experience grilling but you're still using lighter fluid??? That gauge says 250 but those brats are obviously getting 400+ degrees
I can barely hear you the back ground music is loud
chimney starter with 6 crumpled up half pages of news paper and 2 table spoons of lighter fluid. Would do much better than all of the fluid you used.
Appreciate the feedback, I'll give that a shot next time.
Yeah. I never use lighter fluid. Don't like the chemicals. Chimney starter works great without lighter fluid.
Chimney starters worth the investment, but I don’t like to use any fluid, it takes a minute or two longer but I don’t, “taste” the fluid that always ends up on my hands.

Cutting them open drains all the juice out and makes them dry use a thermometer it works better
True... I wouldn't normally do that, but this video is for beginners who wouldn't know what to otherwise look for on the inside.
You crowded them to much leave some space between the brats they cook better also put some wood smoker chunks soaked in water that way you get better flavor

I was after lighter fluid
Agree. Can the background music, it's annoying!
First mistake lighter fluid
Don't use lighter fluid 😜
Dude. The piano is unnecessary.
Music to loud
Lighter fluid? I'm out-a-here.
This video would have been better without that Damn music in the back ground…. You could not hear what your saying….
When cooking don't let your food touch. You habe to have space between each item.
No music next time
Are you in stone age? Lighter fluid ?
i learned that i take a fork and poke my brats on both sides they cook quicker and will get that flavor inside of the
brats
Ditch the music…it’s a distraction
Stop playing with them your gonna rip the casing
get ride of noise!! "music" can't hear voice.
Hard to hear what you are saying... Why is the piano so loud ??? I stop watching, sorry
😂 well i had too stop at lighter fluid 🤢
So many problems.
You lost me at the diesel dump yuck
You lost me with the lighter fluid.
First like
You burnt them joms
They shouldn’t be touching ever and those tongs give me anxiety. Do not wanna poke a hole in those beauties. Just firing up the grill now. 🍻
I stopped watching once you said you use lighter fluid :(
Lighter fluid rookie
Creepy ass music lol
Never use lighter fluid!! 🤦🏼
Does it leave a large carbon footprint? My goodness!! BS...lighter fluid is fine it burns off completely. 👍🤓💯🆓
Lighter fluid bad. Leaves bad taste. Chimney starter is better.
I've personally tried it both ways with several different cooks (fluid and chimney)
I personally can't tell a difference, so I call BS
Yikes....
It won't be long before we cook guys, just 15 more mins of useless information so I can get my watch time up.
You lost me with the lighter fluid.
