I can tell you one thing, he dated the right men because he's been dead for a minute and we still don't have a tell all book...he was private and obviously, discreet...I absolutely LOVED him and his music!!! One of God's greatest gifts to this world.

    • @tincredible
      @tincredible 3 ปีที่แล้ว +272

Yes. Given that no messy or greedy "queen" has snitched to the media for money or clout in 16 years, that makes the rumor that he dealt with married men even more believable. It seems as if he only dated men with just as much to lose.

@@siscoramos5315 Wow. Interesting. I guess another thing that worked in Luther's favor was that his heyday was prior to the Information Age, social media, celeb vloggers/bloggers, cameras galore, and Paparazzi, so he could better protect his privacy....Because there is no way in the bloody hell a star as big as Luther was in the 80s and 90s could be partying in gay bars and publicly smooching with other men in gay bars and it not be a viral story the following morning.

Some people are discreet, but other times there’s just nothing to talk about. Not everyone walks around screwing a bunch of people. If they’re religious, for example, they might be very picky and not into casual relationships. Nothing wrong with that, and it doesn’t mean there’s something to hide.

THE R. I. P. (Rest in Peace) LIE!!!!!!! Soon as a person dies, people love to say, “they are in a better place now” They are resting in peace” My question is, Who told you that? What do you base that statement on? People think that they are doing the family a favor by telling them that their wicked loved ones are resting in Peace. The hard truth is that if they lived a sinful life against Yahuah and died in that state, THEY ARE NOT RESTING IN PEACE. Sorry! Those who die in their sins do not rest in peace (Isa 48:22). I don’t know why folks think that people who live their lives as: effeminate, homosexual, fornicators, idolaters, adulterer, whoremonger, covetous, thieving, liars, without any thought of repentance, think that they will enter the kingdom of Yahuah (Eph 5:5 and 1Cor 6:9). He has said that only the upright enter into peace (Isa 57:2). There is no peace for the wicked (Isa 48:22); and when they die they do not enter into Yahuah’s rest (Heb 3:11). See, those who go down to the pit have no hope at all. Once you leave this side, there is nothing left but judgment (Heb 10:27).
People should take time and ask themselves, where do they think the wicked actually end up? They don't get a free "do what you like pass" and get to R.I P. too, NO! The scriptures tell us that Sheol has enlarged itself, and opened its mouth without measure: and their glory, and their multitude, shall descend into it (Isa 5:14). Be sure of this: The wicked will not go unpunished (Pro 11:22). Death shall seize upon the wicked, and let them go down quick into the pit (Psalm 55:15). When the wicked die, their soul wonders looking for a place to rest but never finds it. To be eternally separated from your creator is Hell in itself.
THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS TO THE SOULS OF THE "WICKED" AFTER THEY leave their bodies? When their spirit departs, they return to the ground; their thoughts perish from this side (Ps 146:4 and Ecc 9:5). But they have a level of understanding in the spirit realm that knows they can't rest. Remember what the Father promised... He said, "So I swore in my wrath, They shall not enter into my "REST" that do wickedly in my sight (Heb 3:11 and Ps 95:11). Well, such spirits shall not enter into habitations (rest), but shall immediately wander about in torments, ever grieving and sad, in seven ways.
THE 1ST WAY, because they have scorned the law of the Most High. THE 2ND WAY, because they cannot now make a good repentance that they may live. THE 3RD WAY, they shall see the reward laid up for those who have trusted the covenants of the Most High. THE 4TH WAY, they shall consider the torment laid up for themselves in the last days. THE 5TH WAY, they shall see how the habitations of the others are guarded by angels in profound quiet. THE 6TH WAY, AY, which is worse than all the ways, because they shall utterly waste away in confusion and be consumed with shame, and shall wither with fear at seeing the glory of the Most High before whom they sinned and refused to repent while they were alive, and before whom they are to be judged in the last times (2 Esdras 7).
So, those of you who want to play around in unbelief like the seed of Cain, lot's wife, and the inhabitance of Sodom and Gomorrah, the Israelites in the wilderness etc… GO RIGHT AHEAD and FIND OUT "FIRST HAND" That there is no such thing for the wicked dead called “R.I.P”

I remember watching this interview with Mr Vandross, The journalist asked him if he was gay. Mr Vandross exact answer to her question was, I don't owe the world nothing but good music 🎵🎶. And he was absolutely right. What people do in their private life is their business. I never looked at him as gay or straight. I just looked at him as a good entertainner that made good music that made people fall in love. Back in the late 70s and 80s, and early 90s was the best era of music. To me thats just my opinion 🤷🏾‍♀️. But overall I loved Luther, Freddie, George Michael, Boy George. Loved their music and I still listen to their music to this day. Good music never dies, regardless of the entertainers sexual preference. There's a lot of hip hop artists are gay. I respect that men in Luther era wasn't so blunt with it. Luther, Freddie, George Michael they sold talent not sexuality. Well George Michael did later in his career 🤔🙄🤷🏾‍♀️🤦🏾‍♀️....

He dragged a song out to make sure we all received what we came for and made us feel his lyrics deep down in our souls. To this day his music brings tears to my eyes. I actually saw Anita Baker in concert years ago in Raleigh, North Carolina. I had ALWAYS been a fan of hers, until I attended her concert. The concert started 1 to 2 hours LATE. They would not allow anyone to even enter the building. Everyone had to stand in line outside, waiting for the doors to open. When Anita finally hit the stage there was no apology from her. Some of the audience started booing her as a result. She literally turned her back to the audience and told everyone she was going to sing to her band. Her excuse was that she would not be seeing her band for awhile, thus she wanted to sing to them. She definitely came across unprofessional, disrespectful, and like a diva that night. She literally performed several of her songs with her back turned to the audience. We paid to see her. I will NEVER again pay to see Anita Baker. I will say that lady CAN sing. She has an amazing voice, however her attitude is extremely disrespectful.

I can't attest to what Luther was like before his stroke...being one of the nurses who took care of him before his death...all I know is how loyal his inner circle were to the end...his mom was an amazing woman who didn't want to outlive her children and Lu was the last of her 4 children left...she and her sister would come every Sunday with her grandchildren...Dave Cos would come whenever he was in the area...one of his backup singers Lisa and her husband would come whenever they were around...Lisa and Nate Adderle put on an Christmas concert for the staff just before he died...Lu watched from the 2nd floor...and all his gay friends were there...his mother was an Reverend of AME church since 1984...he had an sarcastic sense of humor...his best friend since they were 19 came often...the press never tried sneak in to get any information...people knew who he was and just respected his privacy...he taught me so much about death and dying...I hoped that I helped his mom to honor him just for being who he was...that God loved him even if he was gay...and also to allow him to move on...

Hi, as I understand it, Luther was very depressed after his stroke, for letting it happen (even had to be put on anti-depressants because of it). His depression stemmed from the stroke being avoidable and caused by him neglecting his health--including ceasing his diabetes medication. And this came after a fairly long period where he had been managing it and his weight. So two questions: how much physical progress did he make during the 2 years he was rehabbing? Why was he wearing sunglasses in those last images we saw of him when he was at the rehab center?

Oprah flat out gave Luther some Crystal long stemmed wine glasses and commented she knew he collected them .
She knew he was gay and tbh -we all did . Some people preferred to choose to not acknowledge it for their own comfort ( or fantasy ) levels .
I’m perplexed as to how anyone didn’t know to begin with .
    Everyone knew .
He left enough clues without stating the obvious.
I think it’s the females that would have been harsh with him given his choices of songs . Luther was awesome and always will be .

I didn’t give a hoot about Luther and his personal life or preferences…none of my business…but his voice was so unique…smooth as butter and kept you melodically spellbound no matter what he sang…Luthers music was my go-to music whether I was happy or sad…but therapeutic when I felt heartbroken…and it snapped me out of my depression immediately…I’d just jump in my car pop in Luther’s “The best of love” cd and cruise until my heart and mind settled…that album allowed me to go through all my emotions which helped me to put things into perspective and after an hour or so of chilling with Luther I’d worked through my emotional baggage and would get out of my car refreshed and in “it is what it is” and move on mode…I was then good and rid of all my negative inhibitions😊…always worked like a charm…therefore Luther remains my “All Time” favorite singer…ever!!!🥰…Thanks Luther!👏🏽❤
