After listening to the original arcade version, I have to give these guys props for matching the instruments as close as possible to the arcade version, given the limitations imposed upon them from the SNES. They pretty much nailed it.

No blood is no problem for me, Sub-Zero's and Rayden's altered fatalities look even better than the arcade originals and the if you got used to the input lag, the game plays just fine. Graphics and sound are so much better and much more true to the arcade than the Megadrive-MK.
Used to leave the tube on with that theme back in the 90s, as there was no timer and I could listen to it for as long as I wanted, or until the adults complained, of course. Still lovin' it 30 something years later.

Skyrilla , It was sweat. The SNES version got heavily censored and caused an uproar. They responded by releasing MK II uncut and started releasing edgier stuff in general with the age ratings.

The SNES music hardware was actually superior to the arcade MK1, which was heavily FM synth based.

And it's still amazing. The classic 2D Mortal Kombats (1,2,3,UMK3,MKT) are timeless masterpieces, MK4 and MK Gold is also ok imo!
