I was never a Mortal Kombat fan growing up. But I do remember a relative of mine surprised me with their old Super Nintendo as a late birthday gift around the end of my teenage years. They still had all of the necessary chords, some manuals, 3 Controllers and around 20-something games. MK III was one of them. ( about a year or so later I was also given a Sega Genesis and MK II was one of the games but unfortunately I lost the Sega Genesis in the house fire a couple months later and my family and I were forced to move ) I didn't play it much, but this theam music stuck with me. Now here I am in the later half of year 2020, and a close friend of mine decided to gift me with the digital version of Mortal Kombat 11 on Xbox about 2 weeks ago. ( with all the DLC ) and since they did so just out of pure generosity to be nice it was only respectful if I at least played the game and gave it a try. What do you know, I actually like it. I'm not very good at it but my friend is teaching me so I'll improve with time...wait...time...WAIT...was my past teenager self brought into 2020? (LOL JK) My favorite character is Night Wolf as a Native American myself I find it pretty cool that I relate to one of the old school characters. He was the first character I played in MK III, so I thought why not do the same with the new game? Now listening to this old theme music, it really does make me think about how fast time truly can fly over the years and just how much people may change in terms of their interests. Well I guess it's official, I'm now a casual fan of the Mortal Kombat series.
Hm, just noticed something wrong with Stryker's picture here. They forgot to recolor his shirt to be blue instead of red (which is likely its color in real life since they used a blue screen). Looks like they cropped it out in UMK3 and Trilogy, though.
@pirate772009 Actually this was the game Ermac first appeared in. Therefore, he should be on the screen. However, he was a code character and this could just be the screen you see before any characters are unlocked.
It certainly does surpass UMK3. And I loved UMK3 and also MKT. But for me, MK3 was the dogs bollocks. I fucking loved it. Introduction of run meter, run meter combos, % damage display, animalities, mercy and robo-ninjas (Sektor, Cyrax and Smoke were my 3 favourite characters). Sonya and Kano brought back. Amazing to think that of the 14 playable characters from MK1 and MK2 combined, only half of them (7) appeared in MK3. And also, more than half of the MK3 line-up (8) were brand new characters.
+Wagner M.S. And you know what's fucked up? A lot of people didn't like MK3 because Raiden nor Scorpion was in it and because of the inclusion of the run button. MK3 changed drastically from the previous 2 MK games and it turned out to be a great game. I loved it

MK3 was fun with the run button and other stuff (TOASTY), and UMK3 added more characters (But cheaper AI) and Trilogy added even more and more stuff. MK4 also was pretty good for me, and got me again into MK since long time. I know MK2 is a good designed game, but it's ridiculously hard since being between DeffensiveMK1/OffensiveMK3 without run button, and the cheap AI, which since I haven't got through the second fighter (lol).

Yes, that's exactly what happened. All costumes were originally red.
I prefer this theme over the Trilogy one, it didn't appeal to me that much when the Trilogy version was slowed down
