I still have to open TH-cam years later to listen to this anytime I hear "Fly like a g6" because it's not nearly as good as this, and it's not on Spotify.
I use to play with a DM who sat center on the side of the table. Table sat 8, there were 6 of us. He said it gave him better access to the board and his materials which were kept in two rolling carts on either side of him. It was actually a pretty grest set up. Everyone heard and saw him clearly, made private communication easier, made cheating on a roll harder..etc.
Roll a D6 has been my daughter’s fave song since she was three. She’s seven now and we’re playing D&D on Christmas Eve. Had to make a quick run to 7-11 because apparently it isn’t even D&D if you don’t have Twizzlers! 😂😂💕💕
Having played since a previous century (the seventies) I just have to say: GIMME MORE! I love watching the Rules Lawyers and Serious Gamers get poked with a funny bone. C'mon folks, it's just a game!
This song is great. I've been a fan for years. We listen to this during our gaming sessions, as it shuffles in with the LOTR soundtrack, Skyrim soundtrack, and others. What I DON'T get is why all the people in the comments below are trying to rip apart the lyrics and point out contradictions of the video in a FANTASY setting game. "She's a wizard wearing ranger clothes." Yeah, maybe she's a wizard and put levels in ranger in order to take the prestige class Arcane Archer? Maybe they have a homebrew campaign setting and that's how her wizard looks? Maybe there is a homebrew chart that you roll a d6 on to see if you are reincarnated as another PC? Maybe whenever you die, you roll a d6 to see what class/race you play next? Maybe it doesn't fucking matter because they made a kickass, fun song/video? Fuck.
+Cory Tennyson If you were a wizard, why would you dress like a wizard? It makes you the biggest target on the board. Obviously, the first guy the enemies are going to target is the guy that shoots lightning.
+Ryan Pratt I was quoting the ones complaining and nit-picking when I said that. I don't think anyone is bound to a certain dress code or image when roleplaying.
Original gamers DID use a D6 for "save against death or die" . " DM says you're gunna DIE - roll a d6" makes perfect sense - not that it needs to for a fun song
I feel 10 years too late to this. This needs to be one of those old videos that every starts to get in their recommended 8 years after it was up loaded.
I make my players roll 2D6's during rests for random encounters just because of this song. 2 6's is a random deadly encounter without any benefit of rest. "DM says you're gonne die, roll a D6".

from the sound of it the level 30 Ranger got bored while walking so he had the necromancer raise some zombie for blood sports while they traveled, then decided to step in after watching zombies flail around pathetically. basically they need a bard not necromancer to keep them entertained as they travel.
"I'm a lawful good level 30 ranger. There's this necromancer raising the dead and slaughtering peasant in some village. But I'm not gonna save them because I should be fighting Vecna himself and not some crummy zombies!" gr8 roleplay right there.

Anyone else still watching this? I have been for years, it will randomly pop into my head and I’ll watch it over and over then not...until a year later when it pops into my head again...
I keep reading comments and wonder - wtf is your problem with wizard with the bow? She could be an elf and have proficiency, and that makes good point when your spells are depleted you should do at least something. Crossbow probably does a better job though but still hey - free proficiency for elves.
+Evgeniy Voevodin Long/shortbow makes no fucking sense. They take ability scores the Wizard won't have to use competently, occupy the hands, weigh more, and are more awkward to store. And that's only if you're playing in an edition where casters don't get unlimited cantrips/orisons.

Ah, this reminds me of way back when we played D&D using big, heavy books that had yet to be translated into Swedish and several pieces of A4 paper taped together to draw the map(s) on. The GM had a warped sense of humour which had us rolling on the floor with laughter (floor, because there was no table big enough for the complete map).
This is a pretty bad choice for that there is tons of crackling in the audio and it is super lossy since it's been through 2 youtube format conversions since it came out
With all these comments on them not rolling a d20. They're all easily epic tier. Wizard is rolling d6 for magic missile or fireball. No need to hit AC just throw damage.
I kind of want to know how this story turned out. Like did Lee get a happy ever after or did he have to find a new group!? Who knows! Still a better lovestory than twilight.
I just watched this again and Connor I must say your animation effects have improved an insane amount in less than 2 years. This will always be a classic thou. the beginning of all your futures.
This randomly appeared in my playlist...right aftery group and I were discussing how we are going to play after quarantine. Thanks for making this- A Barbarian halfling
I love this song, and I listen to it a few times a week, usually. I still can't stop myself from saying "who is holding these arrows for an archer friend" after "I'm a wizard" and asking my phone/cat/ceiling "Who shoots lightning to the sky? Why?"
Older editions used a wide range of dice. For example, in the most classic one, AD&D, you were rolling D100 for thief skills. But the plain answer to your question is: This is a parody of a Far East Movement song called 'Like a G6'. I think it answers everything...
I love the song, but the video has always bothered me. Everyone latches onto the wizard with a bow, but nobody mentions the fact that there are 5 people at the table one of which is the DM. And then the party has 4 members, but one of them IS the DM. WHO IS THE FIFTH PERSON!?
+Lênon Kramer At 2:00 you can see the in game party. From left to right, Dwarf, Ranger, Arcane Trickster and Wizard. At 0:41 you can see the actual players. From left to right they play as the Dwarf, Ranger, Arcane Trickster, Wizard and unknown. The wizard is also the DM, as evidenced by the first verse where he sings the part of DM, as well as the fact that the DMG is open in front of him and presumably hiding his notes and dice rolls. Unless what you're saying is the fifth person is playing the DMPC instead of the DM, which while possible is a bit convoluted for a video that doesn't explain things, that still leaves my original question unanswered. Near as I can tell, the fifth person is just sorta...hanging out and watching.
Vitor Santo wizards/mages can't use bows. Most they can do is use a staff. And at one point she has a shield/ buckler. Can't do that either. Mages and wizards also can't use any type of armor or bracers. They can only use cloth.
I am SO totally in full agreement. I just come back and watch it every now and again. Just because. I know it is here and will always make me smile/laugh/etc... Awesome, awesome stuff - never gets old - always gets better! LoL
I'm not sure if I'm hearing it right, but I'm deeply intrigued by the mention of the vacuum consortium at the beginning.

With all these comments on them not rolling a d20. They're all easily epic tier. Wizard is rolling d6 for magic missile or fireball. No need to hit AC just throw damage.
To everyone who says, "Girls that hot don't play D&D" I say "I played D&D with a girl that hot." Keep hope, my brothers.
I know one who is the DM. (though to bad not that well :( ) :p
Fun fact.. in a drastic turn of events, I am now dating her. #oops :)
DUDE! auhshsahuashuashu
Hahahaha
I kind of want to know how this story turned out. Like did Lee get a happy ever after or did he have to find a new group!? Who knows!
Still a better lovestory than twilight.
I just watched this again and Connor I must say your animation effects have improved an insane amount in less than 2 years. This will always be a classic thou.
the beginning of all your futures.

She says she's a wizard but she's dressed as an archer...
every wizard must have a bow
Could be a Wizard/Ranger hybrid. :p
Do all wizards wear robes and pointy hats? Don't be a wizard bigot.
We put this song at the end of each D&D session when getting Xp and leveling up. :)
We play it at the beginning of each Game :)
This randomly appeared in my playlist...right aftery group and I were discussing how we are going to play after quarantine. Thanks for making this- A Barbarian halfling
Who is the hot blonde next to the DM?
I heard the Vacuum Consortium sucks...
F!@K that & give me 20 ;)
I love this song, and I listen to it a few times a week, usually. I still can't stop myself from saying "who is holding these arrows for an archer friend" after "I'm a wizard" and asking my phone/cat/ceiling "Who shoots lightning to the sky? Why?"
Cool song, but I am confused, why roll a D6 to steal a wallet?!
DM had us roll a D6 to see if we could poke a troll. We ended up punching him in the eye.
Because "Roll a d20" doesn't rhyme as well. Artistic license, plus... if the DM says "roll a D6" then man, you roll a D6 :)
Late reply, but something else is with the original D&D you rolled a D6 for everything.
was that Chainmail? I have some pretty old versions and they all use multiple dice. Just curious what version that was.
Older editions used a wide range of dice. For example, in the most classic one, AD&D, you were rolling D100 for thief skills.
But the plain answer to your question is: This is a parody of a Far East Movement song called 'Like a G6'. I think it answers everything...
372 people stepped on a d4.
ROTF...Can't stop laughing! I'm crying! :-D
(Been there -- barefoot!)
D&D/Fallout/Skyrim motto: Buy nothing, just kill them and take their stuff
+Ian Adair i'm going to go out on a limb and guess you're not a paladin. lol
funny comment though😂
Ian Adair so I am guessing you know the looting song.
can't say I do
I'm six years late, but damn this made me laugh. Thanks for that.
I love the song, but the video has always bothered me. Everyone latches onto the wizard with a bow, but nobody mentions the fact that there are 5 people at the table one of which is the DM. And then the party has 4 members, but one of them IS the DM. WHO IS THE FIFTH PERSON!?
DMPC
+Antilles0413 The fifth person is playing the DM as a character in-game...
Near as I can tell, the fifth person is just sorta...hanging out and watching.
wizard ---> has arrows ----> what
well she is a ranger and like a paladin or a cleric rangers have spells also do u even read all pages of the rule books
No, she is not, the lyrics say "I'm a WIZARD"
Now in what world do you live in that denies a Wizard from using a Bow if they don't want to use their magic.
it's normal.
wizards usually carry ranged weapons in case they run out of spells.
Vitor Santo wizards/mages can't use bows. Most they can do is use a staff. And at one point she has a shield/ buckler. Can't do that either. Mages and wizards also can't use any type of armor or bracers. They can only use cloth.
"I'm a wizard" she says, clearly wearing an archers outfit.
+Commander5AM Perhaps she's a wizard and put some levels into ranger in order to be an arcane archer? Sheesh...
+Cory Tennyson arcane archer was what I was thinking
What Arcane Archer if they are playing 4E o_O?
I am SO totally in full agreement. I just come back and watch it every now and again. Just because. I know it is here and will always make me smile/laugh/etc... Awesome, awesome stuff - never gets old - always gets better! LoL
If your lightning only deals 1d6 you should get better lightning
+Michelle Slay Story of my life last night! XD
That's why they say, "roll a d6" over and over.

My RP group listens to this song every time we play. You guys are amazing. Are there any more pen-and-paper gaming themed songs planned?
