My first time on your channel. Many years ago i got gold fever. I joined gpaa and went a few places. I became a family man and had very little time to look fo gold. Now im 64 and still dont look for gold! I find adventure and joy in seeing others find gold. Thank you for sharing your great times. I think you have understand what the real value of finding gold is. Its the icing on the cake. Best wishes.
The reason I subscribed to your channel is because you're not boastful, or show off with eccentricity that 'some' others tend to, and my preteen Molly and I love the friendly way you are, and your pals. We prospect in the US although we're based in the UK, mostly go bushcrafting close to gold bearing old river, so we go crevicing. Our finds have been amazing. ...When Molly found her fist gold nugget she was hooked. I'm mighty proud of her. Many thanks to you ~Wendi
It's a good day whenever I get a notification that you've turned out another new video, Jerry. Everyone of them is a friendly joy to watch and listen to. Thank you, and your gold gang. Happy hunting and heavy pans!
One of the best vids I have seen on this subject. Especially the locations. I have prospected this area for 12 years but quit 20 years ago as my life changed. Now I have time again to get back into it. Sounds like a metal detector is the way to go. I was doing some sniping but did not find anywhere near the size of gold you guys are. But my largest piece interestingly did come from an area out of Georgetown.
Jerry, Nice to hear you recap your early prospecting career. Also, when you warn people it is HARD WORK!!! I think from what I have heard in a lot of these videos, many prospectors want to glamorize finding gold and they just cruise to their favorite spot, grab their pan and find gold. You are being a lot more REAL AND I ADMIRE YOU FOR IT. YOU’RE THE BEST. Much ❤️ Love and keep on pick in’.
You are making totaly different job than other gold hunters but excelent way how to show other people something about this magic hobby! I can hear many true thoughts in your telling... Thanks from Czech republic! Wish you and your friends all the best. Please keep on this way. John
Any flake that's 4.5 grams is a nugget in our book! Great video and just love the story for every piece. Keep up the great videos and we hope for record gold year for everyone. Much love from over here in lake county.
I enjoy all your adventures but need to include ladies so reach out on the world wide web or just find relatives to take panning with the guys. Maybe claim unemployment since covid 19 is causing problems and get enough supplies and spend next 8 months out on a remote river
You're the best Gold Finding youtuber I've ever seen. My homie in chat hooked me up with your channel, and I've been addicted to watching your videos for the past hour or so. Keep em' coming man! Make it rich!
*Extremely light weight It also **Bestfor.Garden** land for finding any things very easily. Walked out my door using this for the first time and within two feet of my stone driveway found 3 items. Beautiful gold and really a great bunch of guys. Thanks for all the great adventures guys and may the bottom of your pans always come up yellow. I look forward to more great adventures.
Jerry, so many money shots I could hardly control myself from the excitement I know you felt!!!! Nothing like a great adventure in beautiful areas and the gold it a wonderful bonus!!! Keep the adventures coming... for me this is medicine, seeing i have the fever but dont live in a gold producing state! I only get to prospect on my off season and travel very far to do so!!! This keeps me going through the year and keeps me excited for my next adventure!!! One word explains this for me " awesome" keep the great content rolling
You got some amazing stuff there brother!! I’m grateful to have been along for these awesome adventures and I look forward to many more !! I can’t wait to be back in the California motherlode with one of my favorite prospectors and closest friend !! Ahuihou and aloha jerry!!
I'm a new subscriber as of approx 25 mins ago & I'm very glad that I chose your channel , very interesting show ! thank you very much ! Cheers from Southeastern Ontario Canada !
I've been watching two toes for quite awhile, just came across your channel. So excited to watch your videos. I'm in Murphys so I love the local connection. I recognize some of the names and faces in your video and comments. Keep up the great work.
What a beautiful video! A wonderful and varied family you have accumulated! This has gotta be a life made with dreams! Heads filled with clouds pans filled with gold sounds like a life I'd never leave on hold!
Hiya Jerry, great video! I remember all those finds and great content. As always your one of the luckiest guys I know for finding nice gold. I hope you and your family, and your friends stay safe and healthy, and have a great and blessed time of this pandemic that's going around. Cya my friend.
Just found your channel. Awesome video! I recently started watching TH-cam. I'm very new...just started a Lake Superior agate hunting family channel. As you probably know...starting a channel is pretty tough. I'm only a month old. But I love gold panning...made my wedding band set out of gold I panned. I look forward to watching more of your recent videos.
I loved this video. Most refreshing to date. And you really ave the petfect tone in your voice for story telling. I'm in my late fiftys and I still metal detect and search for crystalls which is one of my many hobbies. Coming across a colonial coin or a silver Spanish coin still gives me a great thrill. My uncle and I were very close growing up and he would take me on all kinds of adventures. We prospected on his claim ( also in California), where I found many pickers and one nugget weighing over an ounce. I sold back when gold prices were at an all time high. The rest I have kept as a piece of my childhood. The largest nugget he had found on that property weighed in at 4 ounces! He never found anything that size again in that area and suspects it may have been a drop by past prospectors, as the area was heavily mined back in the early 1900s. It continued to produce flake and picker size gold during his lifetime which he panned into his mid 80's. We also found a small pocket of crystals on his land when I was 12. That search is something I still do two weeks every year. I travel to Arkansas, Carolina or New York crystal hunting for amethysts and Herkimere diamonds. My uncle once took me to Australia for my 14th birthday to stay with a friend of his who had over 600 acres of land in an area that was known for opals and gold. He and his family worked the different parts of land that produced some of the prettiest fire-opals I ever seen. That trip for 3 weeks was when I caught the bug for metal detecting too. Back then in the mid 70s, metal detectors were much different than today's. This friend had some of the highest quality equipment that was available at that time. My AT MAX is much easier to use. We detected for a week in the hill country of that land and looked for opals the other two weeks. We found both gold and opals on that trip and I still have the neckless my uncle had made out the quarter size piece of fire opal that I had found on that trip. I know and completely understand the thrill of the find you talk about. Theres nothing like it when the last of the sand is washed from your pan and the gold is revealed. We travelled all over the world seeking adventure and my uncle gave me some of best memories of my childhood. I continued to visit and pan with him in California until his death in 2008. I miss him still.
Sounds like you have lived quite the life, I hope to have some stories of big gold like you. I'm working towards it that's for sure, thank you for sharing!
Absolutely amazing brother . I’ve been out fighting wild fires for most of the 2020 fire season which has just ended I meet a good brother on these fires and told him when the season is over I’m headed out to go prospecting for a vacation He told me I should come find him in Georgetown . So naturally I excepted the invite me and the family are headed up there today to relax and do some panning. So I’m doing me (research) and found your channel! Thank you for sharing this was an amazing video and one could only hope to have enough time in life to get out and make this an amazing hobby . I’m originally a stacker and have a small channel in an amazing community on TH-cam. But prospecting is in my blood and my passion today will be my first major prospecting outing . That was really cool 😎! I like that we could put a general location to the type of gold found. I have hiked most all of those locations as a kid, just for swimming, camping, and backpacking. Hey Jerry, really enjoying your videos! I especially like that everything is real, and the events are not staged. Keep up the great work! If you are every in Colorado area let me know, can get you out for some Colorado gold. Not as good as CA gold, but always fun to get out.
Nice video Jerry. I hope one day to get out there for a little prospecting vacation. Being from Maine, I would be spoiled with the gold out there. There's gold here but extremely sparse. It's been a pleasure watching all of your experiences and adventures since I subscribed some time ago Jerry , stay healthy and safe young fellow . Best regards as always from Lloyd way up here in Ontario Canada.
I see you supporting and I appreciate it very much Lloyd, thanks brother!
Great video! I live in auburn/placerville area and just got into prospecting! I also backpack the western states trail and pct. I used to backpack with the Goal of covering a lot of distance. Now I want to backpack to remote places for prospecting! Maybe I’ll run into you!
The unique piece at 6:32. Is that likely gold eroded from a lode deposit directly into the river?
Very much so I'd imagine Chuck!
Nice gold and great video. I’m just waiting for the snow to melt so I can get up to the claim
You and me both Wes!
Cool stuff! I live in Coloma and am just getting into panning. Did it a few times as a kid and figured since I lived here it would be fun since I already explore remote areas. Would be cool to meet up with you guys sometime
Awesome video and best of friends make it epic.
Well hell, I don’t think I seen that episode where you found that honker. Good job brother.
Hi thanks for another great video....What kind of GPS would you recommend for the coordinates ?
Thanks John, Ive only ever used Garmin products and my phone. Now a days your phone can do quite well with apps like backcountry navigator.
