I love how in anime and most shows that depict humans/technology losing vs aliens/magic, somehow physics decided to just dip out that day and go on a vacation. They could have shown average people swimming through the air and it would fit.
The gate is a good one tho, it shows how actually powerful the modern military is, since they teleport the modern Japanese military in a medieval world with magic and shit does the entire planet quickly learn to not attack em anymore cause how powerful a single tank is, also the modern military does know how to make a show and scare the shit out of em poor knights

Bruh i would have used a cruisers and destroyers rather than aircraft carriers and instead of tanks i would prefer hypersonic missiles (about 20k-90k) and that's how we can defeat robot.
There are really nice details there to be fair! 1. At 1:18 pilot is actually using flares and actually react like a normal pilot would, but as the camera is moving, I cannot analyse which defend maneuvers he uses, but they do not seem too bad. But only if he goes straight to the ground. At 1:19 he uses chaff cause he is not sure what these missiles are tracking. Those spining at the air is not intentional, as he was hit hard. 2. Goes straight to the ground and very hard turns makes pilot at 1:29. And turns on afterburner to get more speed when his nose is very much to ground direction, to get there faster and with less G-s. And to get to denser air and have much more energy/speed. I would at last use flares if RWR did not show anything (Radar Warning Receiver). 3. At 1:34 the C-RAM is actually working goddamn! Same at 1:38 and especially at 2:38! On the last one (dunno why there are two of them, usually it's just one), it managed to beat two of them! But these missiles are pretty annoying so it's I would say miracle, that they were hit... or maybe not? Effectiveness of C-RAM is 80-90%... but against mortar rounds and easy rockets. Defending bases. And the ship is much smaller, so I would hold up with rating possibility. There are many things just stupid like not shooting BVR (beyond Visual Range missile), same for the fleet. B2 would never be used here, that's the fact. But overall I got the same feeling while watching drone scene from ,,Skyline,,
even with the BVR thing, it doesn't actually show how close the jets are to the mech (i dont think). It just shows the launching of the missile, and the impacting of the missiles, meaning it could've been launched in BVR but it just doesn't show it.

Ah yes because when facing an alien life form that has invented the tech to travel through space and time the US military's battle plans are the same as a cheese invader movie from the 50s. Fair, but based on this, the robot would have just flown to their positions after the long ranged attacks failed and it wouldn't have made a difference.

The strategies implemented here were horrendous! Who puts aircraft carriers that close for no good reason?! Should have just kept firing missiles from afar after the initial wave of ships and Fighters got annihilated. Then start going all out with nukes. I just can't deny that the action and animation is fantastic to watch though.

Problem with such immobile enemy (not the robot) is that, we have hypersonic antiship missile that could target them and pierce whatever stuff they uses as armor simply by virtue of kinetic energy :( hope one day anime actually portray such things and gives us a more balanced fights, which is more fun at least for me.

For someone who didn’t really realistically portray the might of the military, the high animation quality and detail implies that they know their military craft very well. Rather confusing.
The eureka 7 universe is advanced to the point that they have laser weapons that are capable of instantly turning at a 90° angle. This is like fighting cavemen to them.

the ciws firing against the missiles is something you dont see in every movie/anime or whatever. It defended pretty well destroying some missiles, but if it was the russian navy relies more on CIWS instead of missiles, i think it would be better instead of U.S ships that relies more on missiles than ciws
That's only because none of the ships fired their anti air missiles. Even if you only filled the back 32 with ESSM and the front with exclusively tomahawks, that's still 128 interceptors because ESSM quadpacks. RF naval ships rely on aa guns because they can't afford missiles. Even China is moving away from aa guns to missiles with their missile based CIWS mount on their latest ships.
CIWS is considered a weapon of last result, every reputable navy uses missiles as the first line of defense. The Russian navy is trash they lost the Moskova to a literal pair of Ukrainian subsonic missiles, no Chinese or American or Japanese or Korean etc ship would die to such and attack.

I guess in this instance its fine since that plasma beam came out of literally nowhere and all of a sudden too: But I'm surprised none of the ships deployed their Nuclear washdown counter measure sprays to shield themselves from the heat, should be noted this could of also blocked a decent portion of the blast as this kind of thing is done before and during rocket launches to minimize the heat and pressure oscillations ( Shockwaves ). I saw comments saying no one used long ranged weapons and I, honestly can't argue that its kinda dumb? But if they had at-least done this, it would of sort of justified getting *alittle* bit closer than normal. Oh on top of that, I must be blind but why is it only the Phalax guns on the ship firing? There are layers of defense for a ship, of which there are laser systems, rocket systems, along with a auto-cannon which is better suited for longer ranged combat, None of the ships ( from what I've seen ) were covering eachother with screens of fire, which is a massive no-no for any fleet trying to protect against something like this. On top of that, experimental ammo, yeah, I know we don't use it often, but production of it if we *know* it may cause damage exceeding anything currently in use, you better expect we'd use it and commission more of it. Not to mention the *massive* number of bomb types we have which can deliver similar debilitating capabilities to that of a nuke ( though, obviously, not really, by debilitating I of course mean reasonably over-kill, not super over-kill; which yeah doesn't make any sense, Simply look up what we use to destroy fortifications and you'll see what I mean. ) But uh, yeah I agree with everyone else, no clue why fiction doesn't like to put military assets as far as they normally would be from a target, I mean, there is a reason why we keep our top speeds hidden for our planes, why we like stealth, and distance from a foe; the missile acrobatics shown here in this video are kinda what its like to go up against tracking missiles, and its easier to simply have more time to react to it by giving yourself distance. Dog-fights are expensive, that's another issue but I ain't gonna go any further into that. Imagine the press, everyone would get ticked off if we decided to try to face-tank alien technology 😆, not a single soldier would actually get that close and not complain about it. I will admit though, this is the most effort towards a reasonable engagement I've seen ever; I'll give the writers for this show that one, good job.

even with the BVR thing, it doesn't actually show how close the jets are to the mech (i dont think). It just shows the launching of the missile, and the impacting of the missiles, meaning it could've been launched in BVR but it just doesn't show it.

The CIWS are meant for shooting down missiles. The main guns on modern destroyers and cruisers are typically 5 inch cannons. Hardly "bullets".

The strategies implemented here were horrendous! Who puts aircraft carriers that close for no good reason?! Should have just kept firing missiles from afar after the initial wave of ships and Fighters got annihilated. Then start going all out with nukes.

Problem with such immobile enemy (not the robot) is that, we have hypersonic antiship missile that could target them and pierce whatever stuff they uses as armor simply by virtue of kinetic energy :( hope one day anime actually portray such things and gives us a more balanced fights, which is more fun at least for me.

the ciws firing against the missiles is something you dont see in every movie/anime or whatever. It defended pretty well destroying some missiles, but if it was the russian navy relies more on CIWS instead of missiles, i think it would be better instead of U.S ships that relies more on missiles than ciws
That's only because none of the ships fired their anti air missiles.
Even if you only filled the back 32 with ESSM and the front with exclusively tomahawks, that's still 128 interceptors because ESSM quadpacks.
RF naval ships rely on aa guns because they can't afford missiles. Even China is moving away from aa guns to missiles with their missile based CIWS mount on their latest ships.
CIWS is considered a weapon of last result, every reputable navy uses missiles as the first line of defense. The Russian navy is trash they lost the Moskova to a literal pair of Ukrainian subsonic missiles, no Chinese or American or Japanese or Korean etc ship would die to such and attack.

should be noted this could of also blocked a decent portion of the blast as this kind of thing is done before and during rocket launches to minimize the heat and pressure oscillations ( Shockwaves ).
I saw comments saying no one used long ranged weapons and I, honestly can't argue that its kinda dumb? But if they had at-least done this, it would of sort of justified getting *alittle* bit closer than normal.
Oh on top of that, I must be blind but why is it only the Phalax guns on the ship firing? There are layers of defense for a ship, of which there are laser systems, rocket systems, along with a auto-cannon which is better suited for longer ranged combat,
None of the ships ( from what I've seen ) were covering eachother with screens of fire, which is a massive no-no for any fleet trying to protect against something like this.
On top of that, experimental ammo, yeah, I know we don't use it often, but production of it if we *know* it may cause damage exceeding anything currently in use, you better expect we'd use it and commission more of it.
Not to mention the *massive* number of bomb types we have which can deliver similar debilitating capabilities to that of a nuke ( though, obviously, not really, by debilitating I of course mean reasonably over-kill, not super over-kill; which yeah doesn't make any sense, Simply look up what we use to destroy fortifications and you'll see what I mean. )
But uh, yeah I agree with everyone else, no clue why fiction doesn't like to put military assets as far as they normally would be from a target, I mean, there is a reason why we keep our top speeds hidden for our planes, why we like stealth, and distance from a foe; the missile acrobatics shown here in this video are kinda what its like to go up against tracking missiles, and its easier to simply have more time to react to it by giving yourself distance.
Dog-fights are expensive, that's another issue but I ain't gonna go any further into that.
Imagine the press, everyone would get ticked off if we decided to try to face-tank alien technology 😆, not a single soldier would actually get that close and not complain about it.
I will admit though, this is the most effort towards a reasonable engagement I've seen ever; I'll give the writers for this show that one, good job.

I understand armor for modern ships isn't as thick as WW2 ships, but we still employ this water deluge system because loosing fleets to nuclear strikes is a genuine threat.

Even white paint does a number on heat, due to its high radiation reflection abilities, as long as plasma doesn't physically touch it, it has the ability to be used in deflecting solar class heat waves.
