You are an awesome speaker! I never make it through peoples videos because they either talk to slow, pause and swallow a hundred times, say um a million time, or whatever. U need to do this for a living!!
I just want to say thanx I've been slim all my life just picked up and extra 10lbs and you are the first person who admitted the answer lies in me doing the work no magical workouts or pills. You are not selling anything and luv ya 4 dat !!! :) peace and blessings to you sis
you have truly inspired me to continue on my weightloss journey. Its hard but u have inspired me. You did that by yourself, no surgery, no trainer, I am so proud of u and I aspire to be where your at today
I remember when you first posted this. I was 21 years old and in my senior year. And now, look at it, Im still struggling but recently lost 20 pounds and I hope to god and will fight to ensure that this is IT.
You're right BbyDoll...I've been cheating myself when it comes to the workouts. I don't workout as often as I should and I don't push myself past my comfort zone in my workouts. Right now I'm doing an interval treadmill workout with a walking speed of 3 and a jogging speed of 5.5. I go for 45 minutes. I'm inconsistent. Some days I don't even workout--I always say, "It's ok if I didn't workout today, I'm going to hit it hard tomorrow." Well, as you can guess that doesn't always happen.
You are soo inspiring! I just got through watching "how men treat me differently" parts 1 and 2 and you made so many valid points in my life today! I love how you discuss a balance of how your weight changes you not only physically, but mentally. You definitely have encouraged me just by your video!! Thank you! You go girl keep it up!
I absolutely love your honesty. I remember walking around the gym and trying to figure out how to use the equipment...and if I was READY to use it. Looking at it and jumping in were different things. I was self conscious about everything down to breathing too hard. I’ve managed to keep the weight off, but have definitely hit a rut. I love your videos. Thank you for the inspiration you are❤️
I really appreciate all the advice that you give! You are such an inspiration to a young African American woman like myself. I hope that I can create some motivation in my life to get this excess fat off of me. I watch your videos every time I fall off to get me back ok track. I just want to say thank you.
Thank you so much for posting this video. Pushing myself harder and looking at others in the gym is my problem. I love walking and have the space to do it. I will definitely take advantage of that. Thanks again for posting your fitness stories!
i know that im late but i had lost almost 40lbs and i had my first plateu and i became very discouraged and felt like i had to lose weight very quickly, but i you made me realize that the best weight loss takes time dedication and perservernce. I am now decalaring my second weight loss journey.
I can so relate to your journey. I have just been in the game for 3 months and my body already looks good and I can say that it is the toning that has done it! I only use 3 to 8 pound hand weights. I am still obese but don't look it at all. I love workouts that are fun like zumba and turbo jam but jillian and the firm are helping me scultp a sexier me! Thank you !
You are a God-send to break down all this information like this!! I am taking notes... so many realistic points. It's not a fantasy, and you tell it like it is!!
AHHH!! I'm on day 17 of my new workout plan, and I am definitely starting to love the results of working out and changing my eating habits! Thank you SO much for posting these videos (I'm in the middle of watching your Weight Loss playlist). Your words of wisdom are very encouraging, and these videos are confirming what I am learning on my health journey :)
Thank you so much.... when ever I am a little down no matter the reason I tune on to any one of your vids, dosent matter which one, I feel motivited, energised and positive .... you are truly a blessed woman and a blessing to others.... thank you Empress.
So glad I came across this. I know a lot of this information already. Just lacking motivation lately. I'm about to get on my trampoline RIGHT now for a late night workout, then go to bed! THANK YOU!
I just love her!! She is so down to earth and answers all the questions I want to ask but am to embarrassed to ask.. I mean let's face it...I have problems be acknowledged because society is conformed to ignore the Fat Girl.. ) : Doing my research.. I am over 200 lbs and feel so ill.. I know its that time to either Live or I will Die.
Intervals are no joke. . .that's what I'm doing now. Intervals on the elliptical/ treadmill. I do have a goal that I want to look fit/trim for my Miami trip in July. But trust, I'm making this a lifestyle change. The Miami trip sparked my motivation to get healthier.
OK BbyDoll...I just watched "Make an EX out of Excuses". You motivated me. My goal is to go this week with no excuses about my workout. I need to fit it in daily. Oh, and your comment about running fast, then slowing down, then running fast...you're right, it works! It's basically interval training, the most efficient way to lose body fat. I did it several years ago and lost my fat thighs and that chunk of fat hanging off my knees. Interval training makes a visible difference.
this was so good! i've been working out consistently since about half way through december, and about two weeks ago, i started getting bored of my workouts, and this past week, all of my workouts have been super chill. I'm proud of myself for going that often, but i dont know how helpful it is to only do 30 mins of cardio everytime i go lol, but nayways! this video gave great insight! i need to push myself!! i like your idea of doing cardio for a long time, with varied intensity, that could work for me haha! I just graduated from college and don't have a job yet, so i'm trying to embrace the time that I have to go to the gym!! anyways, THANK YOU! :D! :*
You are such a great motivator. I still have 20 pounds to go and have lost 47 pounds so far over the years. I need to get to the last 20 pounds and not remain comfortable. God Bless you
thanks for the information and motivation.. i am currently on my weight loss journey. need to lose 40 lbs and i am working it out. Thanks so much you are inspiration. i have a lot of videos and just too self conscious to post them. but believe I am still doing it and wont give up... thanks again
you're awesome! i only have about 30 pounds to lose and after hearing how much you had to lose, i am more convinced than ever that i can do it!! thanks u baby doll
I love that you say that you work out 6-7 days a week because folks keep telling me I need to cut it down to 4-5 days a week. I love moving. I love my kick class and my bootcamp. I want to do more weights beyond bootcamp. How did you deal with the naysayers?
I need to learn how to run properly on my feet, because I am an impact runner. Maybe I should start off jogging. Much love too you and thanks for this information
I started at home with getting DVDs from library and fell in love with Althea (Althearized, Smooth Grooves), Biggest Loser DVDs with Bob and Dolvett Quince; and Slim 6. I tried Julian but didn't care for her too much. I also have dance DVDs but haven't go to Insanity yet. I will see if it is at the library. Good points. But started the gym mid-Feb and love the cardio dance, cardio kickboxing, and machine classes! I will later do the machines once school starts since hard to meet classes with work and school schedule(s).
Thanks for this. I've finally committed to getting healthy and making some real changes. I'm intimidated but I've been going to the gym doing treadmill for about a month. Now Im ready to try weights also... Keep sharing info......
thanks once again...and you're so appealing because of your candor. alot of things you share are the same sentiments as most larger women..keep it coming..love it!
Love the vids. Very encouraging. For your information on effective exercise, did you get the info from magazines and such or is there a specific book you've read that you found to be helpful in your weight-loss journey?
Thank you sooo much for your videos. You are motivating me to push myself to finally make a change. Almost all of your videos i have watched i can relate to. Thank you
I love u man =) lol you be keepin it straight up real and i love how i can relate to you no disrespect i know your an educated professional woman but you be keepin it hood lol in a good way =) im so proud of you. keep up the good work and you motivate me to loose the excuses and get down to business with what i say i want and that is to be more healthier.
OMG I adore you. You're so inspirational!!! I really thank you for your motivation. I'm definitely ready to being healthy and living healthy. Thank you again
This is good motivation. I really need your advice.. My weight goes up and down due to medications and its hard to maintain the weight. What can I do to control it?
You are so right. I would always try to do things that would work for others, and would end up quiting before I knew it. Since Im lazy and I know as soon as I get home from work I go to sleep or just watch t.v. I decided to walk to the bus stop, its a 2km walk from my job, instead of getting a ride. I have to start getting it in somehow right lol.
Congrats on your weight loss! I am struggling like crazy to get my weight off! I'm short so being overweight is not an option. My long term goal is 70 lbs and my short term goal is 30 lbs. Both options seem so far away. What sort of exercises do you do?
hey BBBD! I am beginning my weight-loss journey, I am running and eating right but idk how to life weights or how to do resistance training? any tips? any tapes u wanna recommend? you inspired me. Thanks sis!
I started @ 300 pounds and I got stuck @ 224.. I got mad at myself and started to change my eating habits for life.. Now I'm @ 186.. I've changed everything and but I still have a habit of going to bed with my stomach full. What do you suggest I do to stop this mastery habit. I'm trying to get down to 150 help! This has been a 4 year journey I know it's taking way to long.. December 12 is when I decided that it will only work if I make it a life style change.. I'm totally focused this time..
I love your videos and I am so motivated by your videos but I think I have a challenge im not sure. I live in a violent area so i cant go out and run like I would love to and so the only workout I do is on my exercising bicycle with about 45minutes bcuz I cant afford the gym. How effective do you think that is?
Okay, got a question for ya. I lost 45 lbs this year and I've been working out with my husband and I'm having a problem with saggy skin and being flabby... how do I tone up my belly and other soft, giggly parts?
i just started my weight lost journey on june first well the work out portion. i been replacing foods n things lik dat...my question is what do u think about cardio classes i been doing kick boxing n classes that focus on stretching and working on abs..i kno i dont have the dicipline to do on my own work out but this is jus for the beginning n i feel the work out..
When i get the chance later on ill send you the routine in ur inbox. Please just try it. I don't know how feel about speedroping lol but its really effective
