2) What is a Dark Pool?
→A Dark Pool is a type of Alternative Trading System, also known as ATS. They give institutions, hedge funds, banks, public pension funds, etc. the opportunity to place large orders and trade without disclosing their intentions when trying to trade with a buyer/seller.
3) How long does it take before we find out about a Dark Pool trade?
→It takes up to 3 hours for a trade to show up on the consolidated tape.
→If both parties are private entities, they are not required to report the trade.
→It has also been said by Stefanie Kammerman when she was talking to Charles Payne that if institutions cross trades from the London desk to New York desk, they don’t have to report their trade for 24 hours. Apparently, this is a loophole and a huge advantage for them as well.
4) Why were Dark Pools Created?
→They were created to avoid impacting markets with their huge block orders, which could cause a large amount of volatility on public exchanges.
5) What are some Dark Pool Concerns?
→They lack transparency as the public has no idea of the trades that large institutions make, including their intentions for that trade.
→They take up activity potential away from the NYSE, NASDAQ, and other exchanges. The WSJ reported in May 2019 that the percentage “of U.S. stock trades executed on dark pools and other off-exchange trading venues rose to 38.6%”.
→When combined with High Frequency Trading (HFT), large institutions can offload thousands of shares within seconds, which other market participants can't match.

What happens to demand if it’s all routed away to dark pools? Would every order not affect the price listed on its traditional exchange? Thus the price would stay the same? Or does dark pool trading still affect share price?

Great question!! I have the links in the description. The one for GME is a FINRA link. That link can also be used to look up other stocks dark pool data as well.
How do the services that offer dark pool information get that information. Is any information coming out of Dark Pools always at minimum 3hours old.....thanks for any insight
Good question? 🤔3 hours old?! Thats way too late. I think theres $ervice$ way faster than that, but they charging ridiculous $$$$! Thats when these $ervice$ end up looking like $cam$ to take more $$$$ from small investors. 👺💩🤬

$$B in dark pool filled yesterday at the LOWS(399ish) after the huge manipulated pop at 8:29 before the actual CPI report hit the wire sending the market up 4% then went red, filled the dark pools and then rallied back green up 1ish %. MM ripped all off soo bad yesterday. You see that one??
