- 13-year-old Natalie Portman appeared on Late Night with Conan on December 14, 1994 to promote her movie debut in "The Professional."
Preceding Natalie's appearance is a brief clip with Larry King that is referenced a few times in the Portman interview.
If Stranger Things was released in 1994, Natalie Portman would definitely have been cast as Eleven.

@@abcsin6526 I'm not talking about getting into Harvard or attending Harvard. I'm referring to the fact that there is so much hype about the school itself. People brag about it's reputation when really at the end of the day it's just a college. You can get a similar education, maybe at not such a rigorous pace as Harvard, at any other school in the country. Plus when you go to look for a job, or even go to grad school, it's not necessarily which institution you went to for undergrad but rather which courses you took, your grades, and if what you studied will apply for what you are trying to pursue. So again it's not just about the school itself. Sorry I should have been more specific.

It's not like that for every 13 year old kid...
I think a big difference between Natalie and Millie, is the time they became popular. Natalie became popular before social media whereas Millie became popular when social media is a huge thing. Millie is constantly surrounded by everything surrounding her saying how amazing she is and she let it get to her head. She started to become narcissistic. Natalie managed to have a more normal childhood while Millie is being surrounded by messages telling her to grow up. It’s not her fault but it’s definitely a huge downside of growing up with social media
Being a bit older again, I'd have to agree. Leon can sit as a masterpiece that's almost 30 years old now. It, and her, would probably have a lot more issue if was released in 2014.

Now I see how Natalie Portman got the part. She’s smart, confident and has a good sense of humor. I like the way she transitioned into that appeal to Mr. Finklestein (very convincing!). I saw “Annihilation” recently, and I think she did a good job. I don’t necessarily think she is a great natural actor (good, not great) BUT she takes acting seriously and keeps getting better.
Everytime I listen to conan, I feel like I need to learn something from him. He has that charm of keeping a conversation going and making awkward situations felt like it was intentional, etc. blablabla and yeah... you get my point.
