My son bought me a suit online from Russia, called a Gorkha. It's made of this ripstop canvas with patches on the wrists, knees, shoulders and elbows. It comes in dark brown/ green or brown and tan. We went there in late January I was told that the bargain cave was where you would find the deals. That after Christmas it would be stocked up because of all the Christmas gift returns
Great video , at the end , i would look at the millennium m150 , not lone wolf . Millennium are way more comfortable hands down . Even the m100 you looked at isn’t bad , I have 4 of them . Sit in one sometime . If your one for bigger platforms , go with the m150
And I'm in 100% agreement , I'm as you know, a diehard freediving spearfisherman in addition to a longbow hunter. Every year we go to Rhode island ( except this stupid covid year 🤬) With a vehicle load of Coleman and igloo marine coolers. We bring back hundreds of pounds of fish, packed in ice. I literally have to chip the ice when we get home to get them out. AMAZING coolers. And don't let advertising fool ya. I've seen maybe 1 spearo wheel a big yeti to the dock to get their fish. Almost to the person, coleman or igloo marine all the way!

My BPS wouldn't sell not even one of those vest's here, matter of fact I've been going to out new BPS every month or so since it opened in 2016 and haven't seen a vest for sale yet! Which I'm glad of too, because buying a vest is like your kid's going to the mall to buy already torn up and shredded pants for a 100 buck's. If you need less to stay warm then wear less🤷 And if you're a traditional bow hunter you'll be wearing a arm sock anyways if it's cold outside 🤔
But, but-but I like the mantles...there triditional, give off heat and love there running sound..and that pop when lit....priceless. That light is cool though.
I'm in Northern Ohio right off of Lake Erie, and same here. Most of the season is below freezing and around a third of it is super frigid near zero temps. I am a 33yr old average build Male at 6'3" and 225lbs. But, I have a congestive heart failure due to a freak infection I got when I was 21yrs old (strep throat attacked my heart). So, cold absolutely DESTROYS me because of the lack of circulation to my extremeties, but I refuse to not hunt in a stand. This is what I've learned and use during the extreme cold: - Cabelas comfort zone boots, 2000gram version. Around $130, and are hands down the absolute warmest boots I've ever owned. I own Lacross Alpha Burly Pros, Rockys, and a few other that were super expensive - but the Cabelas 2000gram boot has been the absolute best. I get around 7hrs before the cold penetrates through to my feet. - Electric Socks! I bought a pair of electric socks off Amazon (around $70) and I use them intermittently. When my feet begin to feel a little chill, I instantly turn them onto medium and run it for 20mins or so at a time until my feet get normal again then I shut them off. This allows me to pull all day sits without my feet getting cold whatsoever. - I use a base layer of spandex style insulating leggings and pants from Mossy Oak. They really do lock in the heat well (any brand is probably the same). - I cannot say enough about this company, and how amazingly on point their clothes are - Huntworth! I use Huntworth heavyweight hoodie shirt and pants, and a really heavy Huntworth coat. (I couldn't afford Sitka or the early high end priced clothes. But, Huntworth is absolutely amazing per its cost and benefits.) - For my hands, I use Huntworth thin gloves, and I keep a hand muff around my waist (like a fanny pack, but for your hands and insulated like no other). I put two hand warmers in the back pockets of it and I can keep my hands warm all day long for entire sits. Also helps to keep my phone and other little odds/ends in it. - For my face/head, I basically use whatever is the most comfortable and best pattern full face Bacalava/Beanie/Facemask cover combo thing. I've used em from Rural King, Walmart, Sitka, and plenty of others and they all pretty much served the same purpose and did well. Welp, there it is. In frigid days and near zero days up in the tree in northernmost parts of Ohio, that's how I stay warm. Hopefully some of this will help others stay warm or give some ideas for people. 🙂 I love this channel, tons of great info. So, figured I'd put my two cents in to try and give back or help some others maybe just starting out.

@@SamkoTradBow yeah totally understand that. I go really light now so just a Leatherman in my pocket with my wallet. I keep my phone in my back pocket most times, and if I know I'll need a flashlight that goes in my front left. Otherwise I just wear my fanny pack for everything else. @@Billybillybillyrocking yep crazy how we find the stuff that matters most to is individually even in our pants just like in our gear! I carry a Swiss tech multi tool, flash light, wallet, lighter, knife, keys, and often a ruger lcp custom 380 in front pocket and a spare mag in cargo pocket.

Jason, great tips again, I literally took notes, and next trip to Walmart or Cabalas I’m looking.
Glad you enjoyed it!
LOVE MY JET SLED!!! COMBINE THE SLED WITH A HUNTERS' SPECIALTIES BLOCK AND TACKLE YOU CAN BRING A HEAVY DEER RIGHT OUT OF A RAVINE AND STEEP BANKS. BOOM!!!
Great idea using the block and tackle! And the jet sled is such an amazing hunting tool
Great video
I always stop there when home on leave
Yep had to pass by with out stopping in there.
Nice video. Was wondering what do you wear late season? Lot of the clothes from the walmart video and this one seem to be good early and mid season.
Usually just more layers of thermals. I also jave some wool that I wear when it gets into single digits. But most of lat season I'm in 3 thermals, cotton pants, a sweatshirt, ascender jacket and vest
Do another one of these videos! Really enjoyed this. I have drank the Sitka Kool-aid, haven't bought a thing from them that I didn't like.
No denying sitka makes some amazing stuff. Have 4 sitka pieces now and love them! Yoy don't need them for most whitetail hunting, but they sure are nice on my hard-core hunts!
The square checkering on those pants is called rip stop.
Thanks I knew that just could not get the word into my head while filming.
Thanks, Jason another great video. Please keep them coming.
Thank you
Do they still have the bargain cave. That store there is the only cabela’s I have ever been to. Kids loved the aquarium. We went there in late January I was told that the bargain cave was where you would find the deals. That after Christmas it would be stocked up because of all the Christmas gift returns
They do but its about 25% of what it used to be.
Great video. This guy will stick to his bow for as long as I can. There is nothing more exciting to me than having to draw a bow on a deer.
Great video , at the end , i would look at the millennium m150 , not lone wolf . Millennium are way more comfortable hands down . Even the m100 you looked at isn’t bad , I have 4 of them . Sit in one sometime . If your one for bigger platforms , go with the m150
Millennium makes good stands! Glad you really like them!
And I'm in 100% agreement , I'm as you know, a diehard freediving spearfisherman in addition to a longbow hunter.
Every year we go to Rhode island ( except this stupid covid year 🤬)
With a vehicle load of Coleman and igloo marine coolers.
Yep not a fan of the yeti style coolers for the weight and price and theft factor.
They have gone down since BPS bought them cheaper chinese store brand clothes. higher prices and you have to pay shipping on returns now don't really shop them anymore
Yep miss cabelas when it was cabelas
I don't hunt but wouldn't Velcro on hunting clothing be a bad thing? Velcro makes a ton of noise. Just wondering your thinking behind that. Thnx.
velcro has never bothered me in the woods. nor does most sounds. opening a zippers on a pack is just as loud. I just dont recommend opening anything like that zipper or velcro while deer are in range to hear it.
Love cabelas only because the company i work. We did all the steel work for it in hamburg pa. But way over priced on just about all there stuff. But great video on some of there deals
Thanks! Glad you liked the video
How do you hunt pressured deer in public land?? Excellent video and information! Loved your Walmart video!
Hunt hard, find places others wont go, and hunt times when others are often at the truck for lunch etc. Public is a tough hunt, but i love it and the freedom of no fences.
@@SamkoTradBow thanks a bunch man! Keep the content coming
@@southpawhammer8644 thanks
Good vid dude also for people out there , 100% deet is not bow finish -friendly ! Lol, it can melt plastics and certain finishes
So just be aware 😉🤙🤙🇨🇦
Yep im about done with 100% the 40 works just as good in my opinion.
I DO LIKE KUIU MERINO WOOL BASE LAYERS, NO REGRET BUYS THERE.
Heard great things about them
The only reason I shop Cabela's is the big and tall option that I can return to the store if needed. Other than that it's expensive and not much better quality than anything at academy or Walmart
That is a great option to be able to return in store for sure.
Anyone have exp with the RedHead Silent Stalker Elite Parka ?
How do you feel about staying away from blues. They say deer can see blue really easily.
I try not to wear blue. But jave killed over a dozen deer in blue jeans as I was too lazy to change pants.
Great Video. Well Done!!!
Thank you. Glad you enjoyed it
hey man could u do more vids like this at cabelas
Will try and make that happen
Thank you Sir! You opened my eyes 👀👍💯
Glad you enjoyed it.
Awesome man I like your videos buddy. Have you tried the first lite camo and clothing ? I really like it but its definitely on the high side. I recently been just wearing a pair of tactical pants and leafy top for turkey seemed to work fine I was able stalk and kill 4 long beards. Anyway buddy thanks for the video you need come to east tn trout fish or do some hunting. I still been looking at them cummins cant seem to get them down any lol I'm stuck at 61k on one like yours. Have a good day be safe.
I have a few firstlite pieces and love them. Especially the rain gear! Yeah the vehicle industry is turned upside down right now. Its brutal. no inventory and demand is very high and dealers are not budging. Just bought a 2020 cherokee trialhawk yesterday to replace my renegade and it took me 3 days to get a excellent deal and I am really good at this..lol was the hardest I ever had to work for a deal and the deal was not as good as I could of got pre covid.
How many times did u have to cut the camera because a rep asked if you were a Cabela’s Club Member??
lol! they sure do like to try and sign you up.
Whats that brand called kuyoo or coyou? I want to check into the rain gear. Thanks
Kuiu.com
Thanks
Jason is the only now hunter I know of that don't like camo.
hahahaha. Im ok with that.
Folks can shop at Cabelas all they want. Shopping in Cabelas is like shopping in China. I’ll pass on all that Bass Pro crap………
Love this content its great. You and I are so much alike. Love vests. Don't care for gloves or camo. I don't mind the Wal-Mart stuff. Except I find it funny you like to save money but have 8 hand muffs! Thats great ! 😁
Hahaha! Can never have enough hand muffs!
Jason, what hand muffs do you like the best? My hands get cold and they stay that way these days no matter what gloves I wear.
Just went there today and got some camo
Awesome
Great review
Thank you
The grid material cargo pants is known as rip-stop nylon.
Thank you. I knew that just xould not for the life of me remember it while I was filming
Our cabelas is ok .. the 10 more minutes it takes to get to bass pro is well worth it , bass pro camo is way cheaper than what cabelas sells
They are the same exact store with the same prices as they are now owned by thw same company. But I agree some stores are bigger and better than others.
@@SamkoTradBow oh I know that , and maybe it's just ours ,but bass pro here sells the redhead brand cheap ,and great clothing.. the cabelas doesnt sell it , only the high dollar stuff
@@jonpatterson5668 every Cabelas and bass pro I've been too since the merger sells both for the same price.
Good video on the outrageous expense of cabelas.thanks
Yep it sure can be expensive
I used to use Mictrotex extensively. Long lastings, quiet, and bug proof. After Bass Pro bought them they changed the material to Microtex Stretch and now it is pure garbage. Just street clothes for me going forward.
Good to know. Appreciate this comment as will many others that are looking at it!
If you need less to stay warm then wear less🤷
And if you're a traditional bow hunter you'll be wearing a arm sock anyways if it's cold outside 🤔
I'm a traditional bow hunter and don't even know what an arm sock is. But probably never wore one.
great video 👍🏽
Thank you! 👍
Loved this video
thanks
Should check out Habit Outdoors. Great stuff at an amazing price. Can't find anything else that beat it.
But, but-but I like the mantles...there triditional, give off heat and love there running sound..and that pop when lit....priceless. That light is cool though.
hahaha. Do love a classic lantern!
How cold is the conditions you are hunting in? I would like somthing for some pretty serious cold
Im in northern michigan and 80% of the season is below freezing with december temps often below zero.
This is what I've learned and use during the extreme cold:
- Cabelas comfort zone boots, 2000gram version.
But, Huntworth is absolutely amazing per its cost and benefits.)
- For my hands, I use Huntworth thin gloves, and I keep a hand muff around my waist (like a fanny pack, but for your hands and insulated like no other).
I love this channel, tons of great info. So, figured I'd put my two cents in to try and give back or help some others maybe just starting out.
@@strikeforcek9149 thats sucks about the heart condition! But very glad that you are still able to hunt and that you have figured out a system that works for you and you understand it so well. Excellent post. Thank you.
@@SamkoTradBow thanks for the advice, all of you, I’ll take into consideration. You guys have it colder than I do anyways.
It's Michigan, wait 15 minutes the weather will change.
Are you driving the car your in talking at the start of this video
I think so
I wear takari everything while hunting it works for me and is better than realtree and mossy oak
I love your video! However, on my budget, I can't afford Cabela's.
Yep me neither with alot of stuff. Thats why I buy most of my stuff at walmart.
The DDW laundry soap at my local TSC is 1$ cheaper than Walmart
Awesome! Thanks for the tip! Will check it out.
Save some money use Tide free and clear or better yet yse ATSKO sport wash
Do you use the jet sled to drag out your deer? wondering how well they work.
Yep all the time. and it reduces the drag felt weight down to about 25% its amazing and makes life so much eaiser.
very informative
Thanks
A good pair of wool pants has never failed me.
Have lots of great wool. Wool is and always will be fantastic. Dont wear it much anymore but it is excellent.
But where can a guy find some
20:06 how are you goin to throw it in the dryer? Ur hunting
Nice job Jason love the videos keep them coming
Thank you
A lot of people are realizing how much better crossbow hunting is compared to compound. Faster, better foc, more accurate. All around more advanced than compound bows. It's what compounds want to be when they get all grown up lol.
Neither of those fit into my bag of hunting tools🤣🤣
Love the vid, agree with you on every point.
Thank you
Lots of bare shelves at all the Cabelas now. They used to have shelves full of useful and novel items and now bare hooks and empty shelves. Sad days and you need to search hard for competitive deals. Bass pro web ordering sucks too compared to cabelas.
Agreed
Front pocket minimalist wallet is way better than back pocket wallets.
Not if you carry all the stuff I carry in my front pockets..lol
@@SamkoTradBow yeah totally understand that. I go really light now so just a Leatherman in my pocket with my wallet. I keep my phone in my back pocket most times, and if I know I'll need a flashlight that goes in my front left. Otherwise I just wear my fanny pack for everything else. I need to get a small fishers pen to have but deep pockets help a ton for most people, I have huge hands so for me it's pocket opening width that matters and something that doesn't look "tactical" what all are you carrying in your pockets?
@@Billybillybillyrocking yep crazy how we find the stuff that matters most to is individually even in our pants just like in our gear! I carry a Swiss tech multi tool, flash light, wallet, lighter, knife, keys, and often a ruger lcp custom 380 in front pocket and a spare mag in cargo pocket.
It's Beyond The Ears in Lake Orion
Thank you
That Millenium m100u is way more comfortable than the Lone Wolf
Awesome. Glad you like it
Cool review
Thanks
If I wore any of that non hunting Red Head stuff or even the better quality NON HUNTING Columbia clothes out hunting, they would be shredded and ruined halfway to the tree on one hunt. I ruined a Columbia wind and rain jacket that I wore under a hunting vest, Columbia ruined, vest is just fine.
hahaha. you must hunt places that most humans cant go.
@@SamkoTradBow yes the moon. It's the space dust that shreds my rocca wear that I use for hunting. You would believe all the buck rubs out here but they must be rollin through at night because I ain't seen crap out here on the moon.
