Hi thank you for this tutorial! I am a musician with very good relative/almost perfect pitch. My ear allows me to hear nuanced sounds, in music and in speech. In your speech I just have to mention something I hear! You have a glottal way of pronouncing your “L” letters, rather than forming the sound by placing your tongue behind your teeth, you form the sound by closing the glottis in the back of the throat. Marc Maron does this too as another example. I’m not sure if it’s considered “wrong” but I find it so unsettling to hear the letter L pronounced this way. I believe it may be an impediment. I am absolutely not knocking you down or criticizing you, just sharing what I hear since this is a musicians channel after all.

Great video....had GarageBand for years and did nothing, watched this video, made a song. Wish I could like this video 1000 times !
ha so glad it was helpful callmebigpapa, thanks for sharing! -Dean
not only did you teach me how to use this amazing app, you also have a MUCH better singing voice than all my friends XD
Hey Dean , I have been into Garageband on iOS for about 8 months or so and had the cheek to think I was way past beginner status as I have been an avid follower of Pete Johns. But , I learnt 3 things in this first video from you, so I obviously need more work ! I'm signing up , and hopefully you have some tutorials on Garageband Drummer , as I haven't quite been able to fully understand how to use it properly yet.
Cheers mate 🙂
ha that is too cool to hear, thanks for sharing Gerard, and glad to have you! -Dean (and yes there are more vids on the GB drummer in the course!)
Hi Dean! This is only the second video of yours I have watched, but this is such a great tutorial, I only discovered Garageband like yesterday, so I'm a complete newbie, but your videos earned my respect, so I've subscribed.❤
Muchas gracias! ha sido verdaderamente revelador, tenía esta app instalada y pendiente para conocer como funcionaba
y este video me ha dado un pistoletazo para iniciarme, gran trabajo.
un abrazo
I am blind and use Voiceover. Have you ever helped a visually impaired individual clarify any of these steps?
And do you use the phone’s internal mic to record voice or other instruments like, say…ukulele, or do you need other equipment?
Thanku I’ve had a iPhone for months and I finally learnt how to make a. Song yaaayeer u da man stan
That's so cool to hear Kane, so glad it was helpful! -Dean
I am REALLY late to the GarageBand party 😢 Thanks for making the menus clear, that was confusing when I first opened the app.
Any suggestions on a vocal microphone?
This is one of the best tutorials i have ever seen, really explaining everything from the beginning, thanks!
Thanks Keano, that means a lot! So glad it was helpful, now go have some fun with it! :P -Dean

Love that Bithika, so glad it was helpful! ... now go have some fun with it! :P
That was great, do you have videos for plugging in guitars via interface, and external mics
For those of us who actually play?
Hey there! I do have a video on that for the Mac version but not for iOS!.. but you can check out my friend Pete's channel where he shows you how! th-cam.com/video/Sc-_LiuqiRA/w-d-xo.html

Cool tutorial!! For iPhone, do you know how to drag and drop let’s say a piano part and make it match the bars? Because im dragging the part but is matching nothing so I have to move a little bit and play it back and forth like 100 times until I feel is matching the rest of the parts. In GarageBand for OS its like a default option but for iPhone it’s making me crazy. Thank you!
2:27 Whoa hold up! I'll be right back. The Office is on.
Thank you for this! I’m currently downloading this right now and this video just got me excited to start!
Beautiful man, you're the only one who helped me
OMG.... You are the best teacher!!!!!!!
Thank you sir I've learned so much
You're very welcome, glad it was helpful!
Lot of times other channels rush through these techniques just because there’re too good, luv how you take your time, great content!!, new sub btw
Can you please make a video for this app on auto tuning because I have made a song but I really don’t like my voice I would like to make this song official but just change my voice so it’s actually sounds good
Hey Huzaifa! Using pitch correction/auto tune (same thing) is pretty simple in GarageBand iOS! It is one single knob that you turn up or down to taste. I cover it at minute 7:54 in this video! -Dean
Outstanding and simple to understand as a first time beginner - thank you
So glad to hear Martin, you're very welcome! -Dean
One that I'm pretty PWEASED!! with!! 8:35
Garage band un programma valido per creare musica. Ottimo tutorial per iniziare a usare il programma, complimenti.
Exellent tutorial for beginner. Thanks!
Proud be a Iphone User😍
There are so many dang videos out there about GB and you are BY FAR the best teacher. I am an extreme cave man with this tech stuff, but you made it so clear & easy, it even looks kinda fun. Thank you, Dean. xoStorm
Thank you so much! The autoplay mode is SUPER!
Thank you I now have a song with only my vocals thank you so much
Yay! That's awesome :) you're welcome! -Dean

So glad it was helpful Ray... and thanks! -Dean
Thank you so much for this tutorial! It helped me a lot to get started on learning Garageband and making my own instrumentals. 🥰
Sure I have school tomorrow but wouldn’t it be more fun to play around on garage band?
“I don’t believe it! I got my feet on the ground!”
Uhm…what? Have you been floating around your entire life? 😂
Thank you so much! This was truly a very helpful tutorial.
What mic do you recommend for recording on iPhone?
Hey Locked Out! Here is a video where I give my home studio gear suggestions (including a mic!) th-cam.com/video/X6_TnLOZBTw/w-d-xo.html ... but my suggestions would definitely require a special connector to make it work with your iPhone. My friend Pete Johns has several iPhone specific suggestions here in this video! th-cam.com/video/qh7Er6gHh_U/w-d-xo.html ... hope that helps! -Dean
The Songwriting Studio Thanks!

Thank you so much brother
You're very welcome Sharada!
Thanks so much. Much appreciated brother
When i tried recording with my headphones it didn’t pickup my voice
Thank you for this tutorial! It was helpful
