I remember that act of thuggery, Marius Bosman trying to snap Doddie Weir's leg and ending his tour. It still makes me shudder. If you're out there Marius, I'm very disappointed in you.

I saw the title of the game and immediately thought about what happened to Doddie: I reckon he would have partnered Johnson in the test XV second row.

I played with Marius in the latter stage of his career in Ireland,( and I am not offering any excuses for what he did to Doddy Weir, there is no place for such actions), he was a really nice guy off the field and soft spoken, I think he matured as a player and human being as he got older. He passed away due to illness shortly after he stopped playing.

@@georgevisser3010 I'm sorry to hear of his passing.
I believe you that he was a good man in general. We've all done rash and hot headed things on the pitch.

Jack Rowell was of the opinion that Neil Back was too small for international rugby...

And he picked a pair of 6'3 and 6'6 flankers in his 95 WC team who followed play by walking everywhere with their hands on their hips and who were absolutely stuffed by the likes of 6' even josh kronfeld in the semi final. I always felt Jack Rowells England teams were only ever good in parts. He was very risk averse in selection.

Well Back proved his point in the end. Outstanding 7, I always liked him
