By far the best video on Arc! Thank you for the amazing insights man.
Richard here. Holy smokes, Brandon this is how every tech tutorial should be ... 'How I use (the tool)'. Absolutely brilliant. I've been using Arc for 6+ months, and I absolutely love it, but I suspected I was only using it to 60% capacity. You have filled in so many gaps. Highlights: Copy URL: Cmnd-Shift-C (NO WAY!!) ... Save Tab: Cmnd D ... Split Screen: Opt-click ... Filing split screens WHAT!! ... Open blank page in split screen: Cntrl+Shft+= (3-4 side by side) ... and Notes. I didn't know there were notes ... that can be used in a split screen ... and filed together!!! Mind blown! Thank you so much.
Watching every Arc-related video while I'm still not able to use it on Windows. Your videos are my favorite!
you can now!
By far this is the best tutorial about Arc, thanks for those shortcuts. Cheers
Thank you
Following similar approach, It went to next level when I assigned Logitech MX Master 3 buttons to specific actions.
Awesome video, well thought out workflow, thanks for the great content!
Thanks for this video. I still feel I'm learning and getting comfortable with it and some of the shortcuts you gave (like command S) will be put to use immediately. I'll be using a web app like Gmail in Arc and suddenly need to go to a new tab and I get a bit of anxiety until I remember to show it again. Not needing to use the mouse to do that will really help with that feeling of being trapped in the window I'm in. (It's hard to explain but I'm sure I'm not alone in sometimes needing that sidebar to appear!)
probably the best overview Ive seen
I love arc. I normally only have 1 tab open but i use an ultrawide monitor. I find the split screen option useful when i need it
Great video. I found a lot of useful tips. Ty.
Awesome! Thank you!
such a helpful video, thanks Brandon
You are very welcome!
Okay, I'm literally an Arc power user, but didn't even realize some of the things you mentioned here, well done on the presentation! LOVE the "hold down option + click" to get more use out of the split view. Also TOTALLY didn't realize you could rename a group of tabs, I was trying to rename them and then pin them, but renaming the group is a WAY better experience.
Super nice job, great video my friend!
😍
Easels are really cool! I hope more apps will have it, eventually
GREAT vid , very helpfull , well presented, even copied your colors/themes :-) 😊
Glad you enjoyed it. Copy away! ❤️
Really helpful tips! For some reason, I don't see the "Blank Window" shortcut listed on the current version of Arc. Anyone else able to see "Blank Window" shortcut?
Really enjoyed this, Brandon, thank you. Tying the Arc approach with PARA felt really natural, great integration and explanation.
(One small detail: the fairly short looping theme playing in the background became a distraction pretty quickly…maybe a music bed without prominent melodies? Or my fave: no music at all. That's the musician in me getting drawn away from your voice and Arc tutorial. :-) )
Thank you so much for the feedback. I recently switched to a better microphone setup which should relieve the feeling the mask the room tone. I will give no music a try and see what people think.
I’ve only been using PARA for 6 months and I keep forgetting I can use it everywhere. Thanks for the reminder and great video. One thing I can’t do is pull up Arc using Alfred? Haven’t tried the browser company yet.
See my first video on Alfred bookmarks. It works with Arc.
@@BrandonKBoswell Thanks
Do you know a way to set a given page on startup?
suggest posting more videos related to Arc - you're the first channel that pops up when searching tips Arc browser and their user adoption is skyrocketing. - tips, tricks, cover new updates etc. thanks!
Thanks for the note, @kylbau, will do! ♥️
Have you thought of instead sorting PARA into spaces instead? It is a lot cleaner and reduces a layer of folders.
That’s a great idea Chloe. In my scenario I was using spaces for contexts (work / home), but if I wasn’t then I would totally recommend this. Super clean!
Thanks for your video. Have you ever had authentication problems with google applications when you use different spaces? I have a pro space and a personal space. My gmail / google calendar or Drive are always reversed (pro/perso) when I start a new day.
I have not. That’s odd
Is there a way of opening just an empty tab? I want a new tab but I don't want to type any URL I just one to go to my book mark and open the page I want
Pin the tab, or type in the name of the page in the url bar after pressing CMD+T
@@BrandonKBoswell That's exactly what I don't want to do... it an extra step when you have to type something
Is this browser compatible with Chrome extensions? I definitely need by uBlock Origin and Video Speed Controller
Yes
how did you get different favourite tabs for different spaces?
You need to have a different profile assigned to each space
Once they add markdown support to Notes, this will be nearly perfect
Yeah, they have some pieces of it, but it definitely isn't true Markdown.
You can close peek windows with two-finger swipe right, its convenient
Oh, like a back gesture?
Is the notes option also available on windows? If so, how?
They removed that feature for both
@@busimo why tho? its such a great feature
@@jibbemiddelbrink6564 only a few ppl using it
Is the Arc browser for windows gonna release this year?
maybe
That’s the Arc Team’s plan
👌
I am now on the waiting list for the browser, but I was curious to see the list of universities available for immediate access and wow, the universities with that agreement are the most prestigious ones. I can assure that the universities in South America are the best (I know them because I'm from there).
The rest, I really like this video, this kind of video with this quality must to be more watched on TH-cam ❤
Come by the Knowledge Worker’s Discord (link in description), we have invites.
What are your thoughts about arc for ios? I personally was both really impressed and super disappointed.
It has some potential, but requires more gestures implementation, kind of like the new Safari gestures. Considering the development pace, I think it will get there very quickly
I'm still trying it out, but so far so good.
@@lorenzorubino2195The new safari gestures make every other mobile browser truly gruelling by comparison. Without fail everything else sucks without them.
iOS version is really disappointing. Not simple ui and not much functionality
why im getting the favorites the same in all spaces?
Favorites are Profile driven, so if you would like different favorites in each space then give them their own profiles.
Appreciate it @@BrandonKBoswell !
notes are gone, but easels are just better and can be used for notes
I'm going to miss notes.
Easels suck, better to use any other drawing tool than easels.
Windows version is still very buggy, cant wait for it to be updated and get better soon.
Agreed, I recently switched back to Chrome when on Windows.
This looks like Feedbin but as a browser
I would advise create a new space for each project. Folder is not enough.
Good call. I have a lot of small projects, so it might get a bit crazy, but that totally makes sense
Is arc not the biggest resource hog you’ve used? I keep switching away because I get frustrated.
Not really. What machine are you running?
@@BrandonKBoswell Macbook Pro - 2.6 GHz 6-Core Intel Core i7. I noticed it's using 3-5 gig of memory on this computer and my work computer.
Arc is best for people who don't do a lot of multitasking with their browsers and who only use one main screen. If you use multiple screens and need multiple browser window open and most importantly want them to behave as though they were independent of the other windows, then Arc is probably not for you.
I hear what you're saying and I mostly agree, but do note that you can have multiple browser windows of Arc open on multiple screens. Also, their split screen support is really, really good.
Why wouldn’t you just open an arc window with a different profile…
@@Glotaku Thats a horrible solution, you are saying I should create 4 individul profiles just to use this browser like eveery single other browser? Thats really unresonable.
The fact that a browser requires a 20 minute tutorial to teach you how to organize your online life tells me it is creating more problems than it is solving.
Most tools (Figma, Notion, Excel etc) require you to study how to use them
You're talking about something that doesn't even support Windows well 😅 Windows 10; nope 😅
Urgh another chromium based browser.
Is this browser compatible with Chrome extensions? I definitely need by uBlock Origin and Video Speed Controller
Yes
