    They managed to squeeze 100hp from 1084cc engine! What is it with the recent craze for bigger engines with low power outputs? R7 is a prime example, 72hp from 689cc (in a supposed sports bike). For years bikes edged towards 200hp per litre, now we've gone back to under 100hp per litre. I guess those lazy engines will last forever though.

    I guess one could argue the side cases are at a disadvantage for not being deep enough to fit a helmet, but personally I’d take something like these, still provide the liter capacity but slimmer. I don’t like filtering through traffic and always being conscious about if my rear bags might clip a car. I guess you’d get used to it, but I do appreciate when manufacturers provide lower profile side cases. Just a personal preference really. I think Honda provided a good middle ground with front wind protection. Not so bulbous as an R1250RT but more protection than an Africa Twin I imagine.

      You can’t fit a helmet into any pannier if you’re using it. If you’re not using it then they will be at home under the stairs. If the full review of this bike is like others I’ve seen, he will explain that you can fit two helmets in the top box.

    • @benwells2338
      @benwells2338 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@aunoates6617 that’s a good point huh, and leads me to wonder why that factor is often brought up in these reviews. I was thinking to myself the times I have my panniers on (they’re fairly slim profile), I like being able to filter through traffic jams I might run into on the open road, and so the thought of not being able to do so while out on a tour is a disadvantage, but ya, if you have the panniers on to begin with, you’re likely using them so you wouldn’t be able to stick a helmet in anyways. Likely overthinking this TBH haha, but that’s where I’m coming from with my comment, regarding touring and still being able to filter easily.

    • @cdb9154
      @cdb9154 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Like you, I appreciate when suitcase are narrow enough not to wonder whether they might hit a car or not. But if Honda had made a better integration effort these suitcase could have been closer to the rear wheel hence deeper, enabling à helmet to fit in.

      @aunoates6617 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I look forward to a more detailed review of the Honda NT1100, so far more positives than negatives. Styling is bland as is the color choice of white, black and silver, nothing to get to excited about. Disappointed to hear the panniers do not hold a full size helmet. Positives are it supports a top box, has good seat height, looks like there is some good windshield adjustability, good display, USB charging port, center stand and heated grips. The engine is a carry over from the African Twin, horse power and torque should be adequate. The reviewer indicated the Honda NT1100 to be more of a tourer than a sports tourer, it had a comfortable ride however didn't like to be pushed in the corners. It appears Honda's focus was on a comfortable touring motorcycle with good wind protection versus performance and handling ...

    Honda is quality. But horrible design...The Versys 1000 or the new Suzuki GSX-S1000 GT look way cooler and I think are better overall.

    Looks like it ran into a parked car. Eye of the beholder and all that... Probably Honda bullet-proof'ness but nowhere near enough power and torque. Get that 2 up with full luggage and it will be a slug for an 1100cc bike. No likey. Can't see this selling all that well...
