Jasper's gem is shaped and most likely functions as a nose, so she does have a nose.

While I admire the idea that peridot was the kindergartener for the rutile twins, I don't think she could have been as peridot is era 2, while the offcolors all seem to be from pink diamonds count aka era 1

There's 3 ways I could see a Rutile Twin cosplay being pulled off...
1. Legit Siamese Twins (though not common that'd be so cool...) idk if there's ever been a case where they're attached at the hip and share legs though...
2. one 2 legged friend and one 1 legged friend or two 1 legged friends sharing a group outfit.
3. Make a twin puppet form that your arm goes in to control the other Rutile Twin. I see this one being the most likely case, but it would take mad skills to make a proper puppet that looked realistic.
I agree with you though that any sort of cosplay I'd love to see how people pull it off!

I think the term your looking for is conjoined twins, the term "Siamese twins" came to be used as a synonym for conjoined twins.

The Rutile twins said they were a Rutile that came out wrong though. They never said they were two separate gems that formed together. So that could be more telling. That a gem could possible have enough energy that could make a whole other "gem". Which could make a human and gem hybrid even more interesting. Could this be that Rutile is actually a bigger *_THICC_* (I am so sorry) gem? Where, if it were not for their gem making two, could she actually be wider? Kind of like Topaz size?
In real life a twin Gem is two gems growing in close proximity that they fuse together. Otherwise it would simply be a deformed gem not a twin. Apparently this happens more often with Rutile because I almost always see examples of Rutile twins instead of a proper Rutile. Similar with Gem clusters, several Gems of different types form too close to each other that they fuse together.
I think we can both agree the gems aren't the same as real life gems. Especially in the formation of them. Regardless of that, that doesn't matter. That's not what they said. They said they were *A* rutile that came out wrong. They didn't say they were two rutiles that came together. They said, *A*.
It's another one of those quotes that people seem to be overlooking or misinterpreting

I'm guilty of doing it too, but it's annoying when it seems like everyone else doesn't remember it.
In the case of Rutile here, they of course said "We're just A Rutile that came our wrong". They are not really the same as human conjoined twins where its 2 joined eggs or defects of sperm and such things. Gem anatomy is different. They are 1 brain that deformed in the incubating process and made nearly 2 bodies not 2 separate beings that conjoined into 1. That would be why they say the same things worded differently a lot. It still gives off the appearance of having more than 1 consciousness but its still one gem brain with nearly 2 bodies formed.

Imo, the twins of Rutile are an easter egg for Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Their gem glows red, they ran off because everyone feared them and they met up with other misfits and live together in peace and harmony. =)
1:07 the problem with that is that our peridot is very young, and the off colors say they've been hiding here for eons. I don't think era 2 started eons ago
you know, I find it weird on how homeworld doesn't approve of fusions, but Topaz is technically a fusion. So what I am trying to speculate is that on homeworld are fusions only appropriate if they are useful/vital to homeworld?
Fusions are allowed only to the same types of gems.(The Ruby squad fused and the two Topazes fused). If they are two different gems (like Ruby and Sapphire), then it is considered taboo on homeworld.
I doubt Peridot was their Kindergardner, because Peridot has no memories of Homeworld.

I think they're already a form of permafusion, but not the others where they're ABLE to unfuse, I don't think the Rutiles can unfuse. Their gems are kinda just stuck together, like the gem mutants, leaving them basically fused without actually fusing.

No, you're not the only Ruby doesn't look feminine at all except for maybe the voice. They're genderless so I always call Ruby a "he" since that's what I interpreted from the start.

I can see two siblings that were conjoined, and never being able to relate to characters they see on TV watching Steven Universe. And when the Rutile Twins came on screen, their eyes lighting up at being able to finally see themselves. I can imagine the pure joy they felt when being one and two was normal. Just imagine that.
The BGM got a bit overpowering at times, but all in all great vid! The Rutile Twins are my favorite of the Off Colors!

In the screenshot at 5:06 you can see that the symbols over the entrance of the kindergarten has the old Diamond Authority symbol so I doubt that Peridot would have been working in that kindergarten (I hope this doesn't come off as rude it's just something to point out)

I feel like with mutant gems they could be separated and matched up with appropriate fragments to create compatible mutant gems, almost like a fusion, that is stable and healthy. I feel like that would be a really cool idea. Idk 🤷🏼♀️

I've been hoping Steven would get the guts to pull apart broken gems and mold them back to their original gem! I've actually been thinking that since the hospital and specially in the cluster scene. Steven mention something along the lines of having each other and not feeling alone and it made me imagine them grouping the same gems.
I love the rutile twins! Them and padparadscha are my favorites of the off-color crew.

On the subject of restoration for shattered gems, i've been asking about that kind of thing for a while... What would happen if, somehow, a gem managed to find all it's shards? What would happen then? It'd be so interesting to get a theory, or even an answer, to this!

So for a while now I've had this idea for a Monster based on the idea of fusion and I think it's just from a basis for that
I think a cosplay of the twins would indeed be hard, but maybe 1 person would have 1 hand up for the second twin like a puppet and the arm just does arm things. Idk
Think about this:
If the mutans would get "shadered" again and the parts which belong to the same kind of gem would get put together, all the parts would be there and they would be complete gems. But the parts would be from different versions of the gems, so every part would have their own mind and would have to learn how to work again
The crystal gems would have an Army again and it would be an interesting plot
At first I thought rutile was a failed attempt of gem fusion. That was close to working.

Because there were so many shards in the Cluster, could it be possible to sort out the shards like legos then put similar/matching ones together to make full(ish) gems?

From what i can tell, the Twin's individual gems fused together sometime during or before their emergence.
I was thinking that the rutile twins could show how natural fusion would be possible. If two different gems were placed close enough together, and the gems fused together right I think it could make a fusion of sorts. It would be like how it happens in real life.

Peridot is from the zeta kindergarten. You can know it from watching Save the light peridot meets squaridot. And I'm a while you hear peridot call squaridot a ZETA KINDERGARTEN CLOD
