Definitely in that transitional period after the whole Lexus thing as far as build quality is concerned. Still decently put together, but nowhere near as well built as the older W124 and W140 chassis cars. Those climate switches have such a nice, mechanical sound to them.
It makes sense to have cloth on the bottom part of the seat cushion so it doesn't make as much noise if it rubs up against the center console
Definitely better than newer Mercs but given its age, interior quality is pretty good 👍
