@@WhiteWolf65 i suspect NBC is going to settle this, as much as i despise Santos and his horse$hit - there ARE regulations for using materials for broadcast. the Kimmel show and NBC by proxy, skirted those regulations and failed to pay the required remunerations for the videos they aired.
its just that simple and an EASY win for Santos in court.
and its (iirc) about $20k PER video broadcast as a fee, plus whatever "damages" ( if any ) he can prove.
but again, i suspect NBC will settle this (to the tune of about $200k) just to make it go away.

They used to have to use parody to make it funny but now it seems like the politicians are a parody of themselves to start with. For satire the comedian only needs to wear a costume, mimic the politicians voice, and say exactly what they already said in real life and the joke is complete.

Unfortunately, a judge is not paid to see logic but to apply laws that, especially in the US are all too easy for smartass lawyers to exploit. So, if the licensing on Cameo really does say no broadcasting allowed on NT, it will be hard not to get condemned for at least that. Now, that doesn’t mean GS will get anything, it maybe Cameo who is entitled to compensation. And regarding Copyright of speech, I doubt it’s as easy as that to claim anything you say or do to be copyrighted, you probably have to have it registered first to be able to claim copyright.

I watched a documentary on the History channel about Donald Trump and how he got land gifted to him by the state of NY to do what he did. He paid nothing for the land, and when he went bankrupt, the couldn't foreclose on him, because they had to much at stake themselves. Donald, losing millions of dollars a day back then could leverage his DEBT to continue building, not having to pay one dime in interest payments. No business man or woman ever had it so good. But Donald's world was build on fragile piers that was destined to fall one day. Today is the day.
