Threlkeld and back. A loop around Thirlmere easy Emtb ride on a perfect day video # 773 14/08/2024

A Lop around Thirlmere from Threlkeld on a beautiful day, last minute decision and a route Jules got from Gravelicious, some stunnign scenery and nothing hard at all on this one we started from and returned to the little car park in Threlkeld before taking in Castlerigg stone circle and going along the recently re opened road on the back of Thirlemere then we went up onto the track that takes you along above the A591 towards Swirls, crossing the road and along the lake before heading back along the St Johns in the Vale road. we had a few very minor devaitions as we lost the route but nothing bad considering it was someone elses route and none of us was familiar with it. Great job by Jules Kayak leading the way. Jules version of the ride will be live in a few days

I just went from cockermouth over whinlatter, then through Keswick and around Thirlmere, back to Keswick and over whinlatter today, total 43 miles, on a mountain bike, as a treat for my soon to be 63 birthday.

Some really nice bridleways on this route, Thirlmere was a pleasant surprise and good riding company! Finishing with a coffee stop at the super cafe in Threlkeld

Great video pal, trails look perfect and numerous stunning views too, very lucky to live so close to such brilliant trails mate, walkers can be an issue with them not paying attention with dogs off leads as it is where I live but I suppose it’s a small price for being able to ride our bikes in 🙏🙏

This one was a 40 minute drive away but still great ride with fabulous views and a real change for me too
