      What about the grip? You can buy a grip and attach them.

      They recently started making LH putters so my guess is this time next Christmas maybe we get LH wedges and maybe 2025 Christmas we can get LH irons or we have to wait 2 yrs per release. Funny one for me is my closest golf sporting store the newest irons and drivers for lefties are the Callaway x series I believe x2s and the Taylormade R series, but if your RH you can get Paradygms Stealth 2s. Getting a fitting is out of the question as they won't move the launch monitor to the other side.

    As stated by others, they look a lot like the p790’s, for less than half the price. Not a bad looking set. I’m curious to see how they will perform.

      Exactly what I thought, which also means they are game improvement. They WAY less than half the price, though! P790 sets are like $1400 and these are $500

    There's a 4 iron because they are players irons with 115g shafts. Too heavy for my swing speed but as someone that plays hollow body irons, I bet you're going to get a trampoline flier now and then. Still, it's a good deal for the money and it should be interesting to see how they perform, especially the consistency and accuracy.

    They might forge the body and or face but they aren’t a single piece forged iron. Forged means nothing these days in golf unless it’s a blade or players cb. Very cool though these look like P790. I bet they are great for a lot of people. PW should be like 43-44° with an additional GW like you said.

    Whoever does their Golf R&D didn't think of the gapping😂 PW (45) to a 52 wedge. I’m excited to build an all Kirkland set. Those irons are fantastic!

      honestly, should just drop 4 iron and add aw to bridge pw to gw

    Interesting that these clubs are essentially rebranded Taylormades, with the Kirkland Signature badging on them. They look good though.

    "Side profile, they've got the weight on the bottom here"
    Are you talking about the screw on the end of the toe? Isn't that the injection port? Same spot as the TaylorMade P770/790

    • @FiredBirdieGolf
      @FiredBirdieGolf  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      No. I didn’t mean the screw was the weight. I meant there’s an internal tungsten weight. Thanks for catching that.

      Hey FBG, as far as I’m concerned - you’re the 1st to unbox and show these Kirkland Forged 7 pcs iron set on the web - Thanks! I too have been waiting for months - to see in-hand how they looked 👍 I like the Kirkland Balls, wedges, putter and especially their Golf Gloves! - Kirkland has made good golf gear so far - so I look forward to your next video in how they feel, sound and preform!

    Usually Costco sells mainstream prducts, a golfer that wants to play that kind of irons, he'll probably not buy them at Coscto, he'll probably get fitted and buy the expensive P790 with the proper shafts. I think that higher handicap golfers will buy them because they look cool even if they should buy game improvment irons instead. I know that they are hollow body, but they are suited for a 12 hdc and lower.
    I am a high handicap (20) golfer, I play their wedges, gloves and balls, but I won't buy these irons, but I think the Driver will be okay for mainstream golfers.

    Haywood Golf sells the same 7 clubs, forged, combo set options, you can pick your shaft (multiple manufacturers) and grip, and they’re handmade in Vancouver by golfers: $799. Kirkland is ironic and all, but I’d pay the extra $200 all day for a set of real golf clubs. Also, I worked for Costco for 14 years and hated every minute of it so screw them lol

    Why did it take almost three minutes to show a club? Nearly 40% of the entire video wasted on nothing of any value.

  • @edg103
    @edg103 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Terrible idea including 4I instead of GW. Most golfers playing a players distance iron like this would prefer and benefit more from the GW. People who truly want a "player's iron" aren't looking at Kirkland and they aren't looking at hollow bodied irons. This choice in itself would push me more toward Takomo, Sub70, or the 0211 line from PXG. The 115g shaft is another very odd choice given the demographic of those looking for this style of iron.

    • @reformedcraftsman3373
      @reformedcraftsman3373 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They already have a gap wedge in their 3 wedge set. Ofcourse going from a 45 degree pitching wedge to a 52 degree gap wedge isn't necessarily ideal, but they do have one. I personally don't even consider an iron set unless it has includes a 4 iron, but that's just my opinion. To many, that 4 iron is important. You always have an option when it comes to a gap wedge (insert specialty wedges), that's not always the case for a 4 iron if you want it to match the set.

    • @jeffnahass8373
      @jeffnahass8373 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      4 iron is fine. You can pick up a gap wedge from the wonderful Kirkland line of wedges. 😂. These look like Taylormade irons. Made in the same factory.

    • @edg103
      @edg103 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      There are always exceptions to generalizations, and you two may be exceptions to the one I made. Doesn't change the validity of the generalization. Most players looking to use this style of iron are somewhat lacking in clubhead speed. This lack of speed makes it impossible for them to generate enough height with a 4 iron to make its carry distance substantially farther than their 5 iron. They'd be much better off with a hybrid or maybe a 7 wood which would generate that difference in carry with an equally beneficial (for most) boost in launch angle.
      At the other end, as the poster of the video indicated, the 7* difference in the 45* PW and the first wedge in the Kirkland set (52*) is too large. Far more people would benefit from a wedge to fit in that gap that matches the style of the PW so their gapping would be consistent. So I won't argue that this set makeup isn't better for you, because I don't know your game. But it doesn't change the fact that it was a terrible choice for the majority who play this style of club.

      @dp1927 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      at this loft 4 iron is more like 3 iron. A lot more benefit to be had with AW instead of 4 iron tbh. set up without 4 iron usually makes more sense with strong lofted irons like this set

    • @reformedcraftsman3373
      @reformedcraftsman3373 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @@edg103 With plenty of cavity back wedge options in 2023, this isn't as big of an L as you think it is in my opinion. For the guys who want that 4 iron, finding a matching Kirkland 4 iron would obviously be impossible. But people have plenty of options when it comes to the gap, they can just match it with their sand and lob. I know you disagree and that's fine, I'm just giving you a different perspective.
