    I wasn't a fan of what Wasabi did with CA and other actions they took. But taking their coordinator out of the equation changes things quite a bit.. I'm going to look into this again. I had no idea about the coordinator list to choose from. Really glad to see this info out there.

    Could you not consolidate the utxos in your ccq?

    • @Turbolay-Wasabi
      @Turbolay-Wasabi 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Consolidating post coinjoin must be done carefuly (basically in several chunks) as it can degrade your privacy because of amount matching patterns

      @@Turbolay-Wasabiok thanks, would it be smarter than to run the whole wallet through another coinjoin then instead of consolidating it all? Thanks

    • @Turbolay-Wasabi

      @@Steve-rm4ot Not really. Wasabi is primarly made to be used as a wallet. Which means receive 1 BTC, coinjoin, then pay 0.1 BTC, then 0.2 BTC, then receive 0.5 BTC etc etc... So never spend the whole balance. There are additional privacy consideration when spending the full balance after coinjoining. Basically the problem is as such -> you have 1.2345678 BTC, you coinjoin, then you send 1.2345677 BTC. As an outside observer, I can consider the coinjoin as a blackbox, and see what goes in and what goes out, then assume that those inputs are linked as the amounts are so close. The more liquidity in the coordinator, the less this risk exists, but even so it is always better to avoid fully consolidating coins into one single UTXO. As mentioned, improving post mix operations is on our roadmap.

    So confusing. So many questions
    1. Do you NEED to CREATE a Wasabi Hot Wallet in order to use the Wasabi CoinJoin? Or can you coinjoin Directly From and back into a Hardware device such as a Ledger or Coldcard? I don't use Hot Wallets so if I understand this correctly I cannot do this without using a Wasabi Hot Wallet to act as the go between. Correct?
    2. Would it be better to first do a UTXO Consolidation before doing a coinjoin in order to get a higher Privacy Score for the Consolidate Coins since there will be only 1 big UTXO that you will be conjoining? Or does that become invalid when you do a CoinJoin because the Conjoin process will create multiple UTXO outputs so then you would need to do another UTXO Consolidation?

    • @Turbolay-Wasabi
      @Turbolay-Wasabi 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      1) Doing coinjoin directly onto hardware wallet is a major technological challenge because hardware wallets aren't made to automatically sign transactions. However, Wasabi supports Trezor, but I'm not sure how to do now that the default's coordinator has been shut down.
      2) It is better to load your seed in Wasabi and coinjoin, avoiding consolidation.

    Well done and thank you. I conducted my own test as you discussed using a Ledger nano with success. Do you see any issues with sending btc from my ledger to the wasabi wallet for the coinjoin to then automatically put the secured coins back into my ledger account?

    Thanks for sharing this process. I very much appreciate your work here but do you mind me asking if I can use a Ledger in this process? I haven't got myself a Cold Card yet. Thanks again!

      Get yourself someone like Anita Fred who understands the market very well and is also a professional in placing trades. That's the key.

      What impresses me most about Anita Fred is how well she explains basic concept of winning before actually letting you use her trade signals. This goes a long way to ensure winning trades.

    I read somewhere that there is a chance that the exchanges will not accept coinjoined btc. Because some day you may want to cash out. Is that true?

    • @Turbolay-Wasabi
      @Turbolay-Wasabi 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It's a possibility as coinjoin leaves a on-chain fingerprint. However this until now only happened with few small entities.

    Looks like paraphrase is required when setting up a wasabi wallet. Or no?

    • @Turbolay-Wasabi

      It is better as it's also used as a password but you can leave the space blank and no passphrase will be used. Same when recovering a wallet created outside of wasabi without a passphrase, leave the space blank. You cannot use a password in that case unfortunately

    Lets say i have coinjoined 1 bitcoin. And now have 25 utxo’s in my coinjoined/hardware wallet. When i send out these 25 utxo’s back into my own wallet to create 1 utxo out of the 25, would that ruin my privacy?

    • @Turbolay-Wasabi
      @Turbolay-Wasabi 8 วันที่ผ่านมา

      What you really have to take care about is the amount matching. Let's put yourself in the shoes of a blockchain observer. You see 1.2345678 BTC entering a coinjoin. Then 1 week later you see 1.2345 BTC being consolidate. You can assume that this is the same entity, simply losing some fees in the process. In general, it is really degrading privacy to sweep your whole balance. Wasabi is best use as a hot wallet: you receive money let's say from your wage. Coinjoin it. Then what you want to save you consolidate to an hardware wallet (while this is not a sweep, this won't really degrade your privacy), and use the rest of the funds to make payments, coinjoin the change etc etc...

    i saw the article saying wasabi wallets shuts down the coinjoin services this yr april. is it still working ???

    • @Turbolay-Wasabi
      @Turbolay-Wasabi 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Of course. Wasabi doesn't have a coordinator by default anymore, but the code being open source it means new entities can run this service, and Wasabi's client can connect to it. Watch the video, he is doing it.
