Great video! I love the advice about just signing up for the Hilton Honors program, even if you're at the lowest tier. That makes a ton of sense and I'll definitely be using that going forward.
They have free rewards programs for a lot of travel companies. Look into signing up with rental car companies too. That saves a ton of time at check in also
We are going there next month. There weren't any straight flights from JFK to Hawaii.. There's a 1h layover in Denver.. hopefully, it's worth it. I can't wait.
I have Ben there only once for 4 days and loved it. Had a chance to go this year for 1 week for New Years, could not find any place to stay with A/C under $$100.00 per night [ never ] and choose to pass.
Don’t you just hate the trek from the arrival gate to luggage claim area? Geez, it’s a hike for us old folks. Enjoy your stay. I stayed at the Hale Koa recently…next door to the HHV. 🌴🌺
I avoid baggage claim and just bring what I can onboard. Then when I arrive I purchase a few extra clothes at Target etc, and anything extra I purchased I mail it all home before I fly back. Such a great way to do it and not to expensive 👍
When I went I had to land in Denver then Honolulu when I got there a shuttle took us to our hotel and when we wanted to go to the mall we took a taxi and the cheap taxi driver said 20 bucks then when someone in my family showed him our home and when he saw how much money we have with us later when we were there he said 30 dollars and we were like didn’t you say 20 dollars but at first when we got to the hotel we went to sleep instantly for like four hours and we were told that we were staying at the rainbow tower but at the lobby for some reason they said we will stay at kalia tower
HHV has been our go-to hotel there but they need to take a serious look at their check-in process. We're Honors members but still stood in line 1 hour and 40 minutes to check in. That's ridiculous! We were there in May 2022 and stayed in the Rainbow tower as usual. Sadly, our room was filthy with stains on everything from the carpet to the ceiling and in between. Even the lamp shades had big stains! And I can't even tell you what was on the bed skirt.. Can you tell me how clean your room was? Hope you have a wonderful time! (We always do!) BTW, we think "Sweeties cafe" has the best breakfast on the island! Oh and watch out for Lapperts, their ice cream is addictive!
I'm lucky we were there early and we're Diamond members, so our check in was...ok. I can definitely agree that they need a new system. Our room was clean but dated, although the hallway carpet was stained. It's crazy the spectrum of experiences we've had at Hilton properties! But at the end of the day, we paid with points and enjoyed our time there. I've just been spoiled! Haha

You need a better experience of Hawaii get away from all the people from Kansas (apple butter). You need to go to the Kaimana beach front hotel at diamond head. With your own beach my the way the loogon smells really bad at your hotel

Yeah we considered that but it's a pain with all our bags

Some of those Waikiki hotel pools are unheated because of the wind. Ice cold swim, enjoy! Queen Kapialoni was one iceberg 😆☕️

when I stay HHV I use charlies taxi has a flat rate and it is cheaper

Oh yes it was such a long walk! They have the wiki wiki shuttle now but we thought we'd be fine... But we weren't expecting how long of a walk it was!

Check in at the main lobby, which takes a long time so be prepared
