Classic Samwise still carrying us through the toughest moments 🥲
😂❤ that's great
Exactly... "I can do this" !!!
Sean Astin is a gem
because sean astin is a christian
I got to meet Sean Astin at NY Comic Con last year - really wonderful guy.
The scene in which Theoden is restored to sanity is easily one of the most moving and inspiring in the entire trilogy. Thanks, Bernard, for that moment of brilliance.
The music in that scene as well is so uplifting too.
@@brandonmunsen6035 I think the image of the king pale and weakened on his throne is very tragic. He is meant to be able to lead his people, who desperately need leadership, but he is being lead by forces beyond his control. Then, as the light literally comes back into his face, we see him become the person he needs to be, and the joy of his daughter and his loyal officers. The symbol of the king drawing his sword once more as a return to strength is potent stuff, sends shivers down the spine. And, as Smith says, Howard Shore’s soundtrack is just the cherry on top - the Rohan theme, earlier introduced on solo violin as the flag of Rohan drifts sadly away from the city, now returns boldly with the full orchestra. As someone who has seen people crippled by mental health problems, and then gradually healing, I find the scene pretty inspiring.
22+ years later and that scene still amazes me.
Go see how it was shot and be amazed
"Breathe the free air, my friend"
It's crazy that thoses 4 guys still have a strong relationship after more than 20 years
Every month, i see pictures of them at restaurants, fan meeting etc ...
true friends last forever 🥹
Yah I envy true friends like that.
Idk how true this is but I read they filmed the whole trilogy at once and it took about 3 years. That is some serious team bonding that will last a lifetime. Might be greatest casting in cinema history honestly.
Thats really lovely!
I did the LOTR red carpet tours in NZ back in ‘07. It’s basically a tour of all the LOTR sites on both the northern and southern islands. I was just there for about 2 weeks and I’m still friends with some of the people on the same tour. That was just 2 weeks. These guys filmed the movie almost 2 years with gorgeous NZ as the back drop. Trust me when I say it’s no wonder they’re still friends.
Who can ever forget him riding down the line clacking the spears of the riders . He was a great actor and really made theoden a huge part
They look completely devastated x
@@brandonmunsen6035 Huh? How is the view from the bottom rung anyway?
@@brandonmunsen6035 you monster
You don't get many genuine people like this in acting today. These guys are so authentic its amazing.
Theoden's Tolkien lines from the films are some of my favourite moments in the entire trilogy, and Bernard Hill really did embody those words with heart and meaning. RIP to an incredible performer.
“I go to my fathers, in whose mighty company I shall not now feel ashamed…”
Means a lot to me for some reason that such a touching tribute for Bernard was spoken in Liverpool. Adored him as King Theoden and as Yosser Hughes. And his most recent performance in The Responder broke my heart and I don’t really know why. A fantastic actor, and the finest scouser from Manchester there ever was. God bless and God rest Bernard x
Scouser from Manchester?
Scouser from Manchester?
@@TheRhinog24 ???
@@InArgCroitheGoDeo confused how he's a 'scouser from Manchester', genuinely. Was he born in Liverpool?
@@TheRhinog24 No he was from Manchester, and a big United fan too apparently. I was just referring to the love Liverpool has for him. Yosser Hughes is an icon here, but he also played loads of other Scouse/Liverpool-based characters too, including in his final role. He lived here for a while too I believe.
Where now the horse and the rider? Where is the horn that was blowing?
Where is the helm and the hauberk, and the bright hair flowing?
Where is the hand on the harpstring, and the red fire glowing?
Where is the spring and the harvest and the tall corn growing?
They have passed like rain on the mountain, like a wind in the meadow;
The days have gone down in the West behind the hills into shadow.
Who shall gather the smoke of the dead wood burning,
Or behold the flowing years from the Sea returning?
👍🍻
Very touching tribute to Hill. 😢
Forever a legend. Rest in peace Bernard Hill.
In the words of Billy Boyd: "All is behind, the World ahead. There are many paths to tread." A good voyage, Theoden King, to the halls of your Fathers.
This version of Sam can easily defeat armies of Mordor.
May he Rest In Peace, and be warmly remembered. The sadness in the eyes of the cast on stage says it all. 😢 RIP Bernard Hill.
RIP, Bernard Hill. You will never be forgotten!
Beautiful well spoken about Mr Hill 😢
That was really nice, how they came together to do that.
Random, Bernard (RIP) grew up only a mile or so from where i live.
A fine actor! It is tough losing these iconic LOTR actors. Bernard Hill was amazing in this series and as the tragic captain of the Titanic. For me, when I think of Hill, I think I’ll always picture him on the bridge of the Titanic, his hand gently on the wheel.
King Theoden and Captain Smith.
Those two parts alone assure his immortality in film.
Theoden was the quintessential badass in the Battle of the Pellenor Fields. And Hill played the part to absolute perfection. He goes to the house of his fathers - in whose noble company he shall not be ashamed. Thank you Bernard for such an amazing performance. You will long be remembered.
Thanks for the beautiful words you said about Bernard Hill. We'll miss you very much.
"What can men do against such wreckless hate?"
My favourite line by theoden 👑 & I love the way he delivered it.
The horn of Helm Hammerhand shall sound in the deep one last time... R.I.P Bernard Hill.
Bernard Hill, you are worthy of remembrance.
For me four of the top ten moments in the trilogy are led by Bernard. (The burial mound, Where is the horse and the rider, Forth Eorlingas, the charge on the Pelenor Fields). What a legend, rest in peace.
I've never seen the cruelty of what can be done to those on the bottom rung of society better represented by boys from the blackstuff. RIP to a wonderful actor who inspired generations of identical nicknames to every scouser with the surname Hughes.
RIP Bernard Hill forever missed.
I've seen all four of these guys *in person* at various conventions. Always loved it.
I'm not crying, you are!
Actually yeah that's me sobbing
Well said.
The way this cast has continued to stay together and honor each other is truly beautiful. Other franchises’ stars shy away from each other or hate to be seen together.
Not these people. It feels like a family. As an American, a cast and proceeding fandom it honestly reminds me of is the one shared by the cast and crew of the show Supernatural and their fans.
These men have brought me 23 years of joy so far. I fucking love every single one of them. The fact they still have such a bond makes me so happy that is hurts.
Bernard Hill in Return of the King and the Ride of the Rohirrim 😭😭😭 what an EPIC speech and Scene.
Much love and respect for sharing your talent with us.
" I know your face "
Rest in Peace King Theoden/Bernard Hill 👑
“FORTH EORLINGAS!”
Rest in peace. 😔
Thanks for the great acting Bernard. Boys from the black stuff and Yosser was one of the great characters of our times.
"For Death and Glory" My favorite line in the films spoken by favorite Char. in the films imho. He had the widest story arch
I've got to go back and watch, "Return of the King "again 😢
The Ride of the Rohirrim was the most epic charge I've ever seen on the screen and more than likely we never be surpassed, RIP Mr Hill, you were outstanding in many roles but as King Theoden you reached legendary status
Lotr casting was amazing! Such a remarkable reunion of talent
Merry is on his way to a boy band performance.
He is dressed like it's 2005 and I absolutely love it
Hail all heroes of middle earth, champions of earth realm, liberators of midgaard and those who fight for a better tomorrow!
Hill and Ian I think both brought the words to life with there performance. Greatest movie trilogy of all time and the king of Rhohan was brilliant
Aww that made me cry
The old cash who still lives sloud make another movie ! I know the smeagol movie is coming but need this pair together making one....
The ride of the rohirrim is a legendary scene that will live forever in cinema history
I go to my fathers, in whose mighty company I shall not now feel ashamed....RIP
"He was strong in life. His spirit will find its way to the halls of his fathers. Be-thou well. Go-thou, Theoden, go-thou."
I loved the scene in the extended version of The Return of The King where he mouthed off to Saruman when he asked for peace.
these guys have hardly aged in 25 years
They're hobbits - that's why.
Чарли. Лампочка гаснет, а ты умираешь Чарли, ты утонул...
To whatever End
See whenever i think of Bernard i think of the behind the scenes when hes throwing grapes at dom when theyre all just hanging out in comstume 😢❤️
Théoden King, a greater son of worthy sires. RIP Bernard Hill.
'Ride with me'
'For death and glory?'
'For your people. For Rohan.'
"Look at my men. Their courage hangs by a thread"...always liked how Théoden, as a common man and not a Numenorean, was able to bestow wisdom on Aragorn despite being his junior. Vigo Mortensen did a good job of portraying Aragorn as chided in that moment. The "oh you're right I hadn't thought about that" portrayed in the scene really ups your respect for Theoden as a leader.
Reposez en paix Roi Théoden 🙏🙏🙏
RIP Mr. Bernard Hill aka King Theoden
😭❤️
As a child I was 13 in 1972 reading the Hobbit. Fellowship of the rings was like no book I had ever read. You know the kind you can't put down. All the characters I had visions in my adolescent mind. Which actor would play the books major roles. With the cartoon coming out all the more I wanted it. I, in my childlike mind imagined a fatherly but still kick everyone's tail. John Wayne as king theoden. As an adult leaving the show house I was sitting by my mother. She asked me gently did I believe them to be real? I asked her to remember my bed room all posters on middle earth. I was a 45 year old concrete finisher back then. Crying, watching the battle of pelannor fields after slaying the nazgul Miranda Otto crawled to him. And said I will save you. He gently touched her face. "YOU ALREADY HAVE". Even tough guy me couldn't hold back. Fabulous actor. You will be missed. RIP Bernard Hill king theoden. Lord of ROHAN
another way to Honor the late actor is to actually do a LoTR cable TV Marathon later this week as in though he isn't in the first one.
Fell deeds awake
You can tell they're gutted. Shows how much of a bond everyone working on that film developed with one another.
Forth Eolingas, Bernard.
"I know your face." Rip!
Rest in Peace Theoden King!!
I hope they know they’ll be missed as well.
its crazy frodo flew in from the undying lands for this event
Be nice to hear eowyn sing Lament for Theoden
Such a shame Bernard couldn't be there in his adopted city one last time.
They are Hobbits living in a real world .. RIP King Theoden. 🙏🏽
Larga vida rey theoden 😢
Damn they are old now. And Sean has let go a bit. Lord of the rings will always be my favorite movies of all time. Perfect cast.
A Red Day!!!!
❤
HAIL THEODEN KING!
Sam was there for Frodo, like always.
Let's share some Longbottom leaves and discuss herb-lore.
😢😢😢
0:31 what adjective is Elijah Wood saying? 'erasable' ?, Sorry but English is my second languange, thanks in advance
Irascible i think he said meaning easily angered
Viéndolos juntos, tengo la sensación de que en la vida real son hobbits de estatura jaja
Hail Theoden King!
Sean is so big that I’m seriously worried about his health. ❤
& Rohan will answer !!!
Goodbye. 🙏
Wow, these hobbits look like they're about...one hundred eleven years old! You know, middle age.
RIP Bernie.
The hobbits finally look like the book hobbits
Astin eating good these days.
When Will You Post Costas Mandylor Full Panel On Here?
Look's like Frodo has a greater burden than the Ring, a mortage and three kid's.
They should have worn their hobbit feet
Didn't age that well.
Sam lost weight.
Elijah looks like a hipster X 10
Oh do it at bed , 🛏️🛏️
Who ate samwise . I mean common take care of yourself .
